Well both Dante and Vergil fight the same the only difference is Dante fights with more brute and uses more strength, while Vergil is speed and precise, an example is Vergil using the force edge, he duel it the same way Dante uses his rebellion but is faster and precise with his move set.
I really like that even though the could have just copied and pasted Vergil’s move set to dante, it’s actually changed to be a bit more restricted and feels more like Dante borrowing rather than it being a staple to his arsenal like Vergil’s

Actually exactly like Vergil with his mirage blade. He definitely doesn’t have Dante’s exact move set with rebellion but his is still unique and cool.
@@maxkalikster5399 in dmc4, they had specific range and were much larger, while Vergil in the special edition was much stronger, targetable, and smaller, more controlled and refined
You know what would be cool? If Dante had a Mirage version of the Yamato, like Vergil's Mirage Edge.
Part of the mod pack in Nexus has spectral versions that come in blue or red. The uploader used the normal Yamato
In lore depth makes sense, since Vergil with the Force/Mirage Edge is basically Dante Rebellion's moveset but with not the same skill that Dante wields with Rebellion/ DS Sparda/ DS Dante, if Dante had a "Mirage Yamato" it would be the same situation but inverted.
@『DN Games』 There is also the issue of 'Mirage' powers in general. Vergil used the Mirage blades to satisfied his need of a range option, while Dante used guns.
So,in theory, Vergil probably knows how to use Mirage like powers than Dante, who only seems to use his own Mirage blades while in DT,because,ya know, gun.
Personally that's why I like Neros "maximum bet" move. spirit yamato is kinda cool as hell
Dante's not really good at Yamato, his swordsmanship also won't allow him to wield both broad sword and Yamato at the same time like Vergil does
Virgil's cuts with the yamato are shown as a cold blue.
while Dante's is a vivid blue slash as if they were blue flames.
Vergils weapon is bound to be wielded with more skill by its owner

@@lightsabercollector3096 totally agree. But the op comment might be on to something. Even though Dante really made such an impressive move by copying Vergil, he might've not be able to copy his Darkslayer abilities. Which may have been granted to him by awakening his demon side with Yamato.
Both are great but vergil has more skilled than dante because it's vergil's katana, no one can have this even dante, it belongs to a son of sparda

While Dante can do the attacks, it’s Vergil who can use the concentration, and has the experience, motivation and style that makes his attacks unique

Yeah I think that’s why vergil has his special fighting style when he finally gets force edge even for the short time he does have it. Kinda a callback to how he thinks his father fights

I feel like it's because Dante knows from fighting Vergil, but it is Vergil's style. This is the one weapon Dante doesn't have no where near as much flair as Vergil does

Dante is really a weapon master using literally any weapon so effectively
its funny that dante cant use judgement cuts, as if he can pull that blade faster than light, but still cant teleport the slashes like vergil does

It makes sense why Dante's is so restrained; the only weapon he's really mastered is the Rebellion / Devil Sword Dante, just as Vergil has only mastered the Yamato. Both brothers can use the other twin's style, but Vergil can't match Dante's swordplay if using the Rebellion or the Dante, just as Dante can't match Vergil's swordplay if using the Yamato.
Each brother has that one weapon that they have specialised into deeply. Dante may use a ton of weapons, but ultimately, it always comes down to the Rebellion / DSD vs the Yamato.
Much like Vergil using his Mirage Edge and Dante's Rebellion.
no surprise that the guy who carries the sword like its a part of his own body (literally in DT) is more proficient. its just as impressive that Dante can copycat most of his moves so easily though. and bringing it out in m19 is always fun

See DMC 4 Dante/Yamato cutscene. He makes zero difference to Vergil, in my opinion.
He basically copy-pasted his brother's combo, then shortened it for obvious reason.
It's not that SKILL, that makes Vergil so deadly, but rather straight intention to KILL.
But I agree, Dante would use it in some stupid way to mock his enemies.
It feels like it's obvious that Vergil was well trained, while Dante is just mimicking what he's seen

It's not just about the moves themselves.. it's about mastery of the weapon in question.. Dante's style is a more jack of all trades and master of non..this is a trait both brothers shares as Vergil demonstrated with Beowulf in dmc3.. it just that vergil goes the extra mile to have complete mastery of the weapons he uses.. Dante has move fancy but Vergil trumps in overall skill and mastery.. hell he is the storm that is approaching..

I'd say Dante IS a master of his weapons, but Vergil goes the extra mile and makes sure he has absolutr control and power over them.
Dante only uses them to the extend that he needs it necessary, Vergil makes sure whatever weapon he does touch he has absolute knowledge over.
Dante does have mastery overall but Vergil goes to the limit.
It has the dmc3 effect but some attacks are not in dmc3 so there is no effect

Somehow I completely forgot dante can use Yamato in dmc4
I think some people forget that dante was a jack of all trades,man could use 3 stick nunchucks,could do bruce lee shit with a shotgun and so much more.
With the yamato,dante can use it proficiently,but its not his style,its easier for him to use rebellion because the rebellion was the sword he used the most. For vergil,it would take one hit to slice the hellgate in half,but dante needed several for one.

just a suggestion. If yall want this to be true Darkslayer Dante try to add an effect where the yamato fades after Dante is done attacking. In this video it just disappears abruptly with no effect. besides that it’s a pretty nice throwback to dmc4

The Yamoto belongs to Vergil, It literally is meant for him which is why Dante has a lesser moveset. Also because of one reason.

I can say the same for vergil. Give rebellion for a few days to him he will master it infact vergil literally used Rebellion to stab dante himself. Vergil is the true wielder of Yamato and its fact. Dante is a good fighter and very good at mastering weapons on the spot.
But Vergils Skill with his Yamato is beyond Mastery, he achieved a level of skill that can never reached by anyone else.
