The scene when Moira takes off her clothes has always bothered me.
1, Only female CIA agent is on a stake out where a woman can infiltrate the "super secret club". Plot convenience is convenient.
2, Female agent just happens to be wearing sexy lingerie enabling her to infiltrate the "super secret club".
3, Sexy lingerie is not period correct.
4, How is Emma Frost not able to tell that Moira is not one of the girls she hired, she is a telepath fore goodness sake!

Yeah but really though, Darwin should have had no problems adapting. That is literally his thing. Adapting to anything and everything. There was so much worse shit that happened to him in the comics and he lived to see another day. He has literally survived by turning into pure energy and later rebuilding his body. The World War Hulk one was just kind of funny, but the one with Vulcan where their entire team died, but Darwin becomes a being of pure energy that fuses with Vulcan pretty much says all that needs to be said about how hard he is to actually kill. I'm adding 1 point:
Charles should've lost his legs because of the psychic trauma of being linked with Shaw when the coin killed him, not because of the bullet.
In the comics, its always some kind of psychic trauma that costs Charles his legs, that's why no one can heal him. It would have been a lot more dramatic. Also, it would've been a lot more "Erik's fault" for not caring that Charles was inside Shaw as he was killing him, rather than a deviated bullet, which was definitely an accident.

That wouldve completely derailed the momentum of the climax. Those two events cannot share the same moment. The scenes in between Erik murdering Shaw and then Charles’ injury allows necessary time for each event to feel significant. If Charles is paralyzed as soon as Shaw dies, that would also effectively remove the ENTIRE missile scene. And it would reduce Erik from a sympathetic, character with complex morals, to a one dimensional malevolent villain if he intentionally causes Charles to be paralyzed/attempts to kill him. The ending is powerful and tragic because at this point in time these are two characters who care for each other.
This was actually my favorite X-Men movie. Why? Because it isn't all about Wolverine! Also the Fassbender as Magneto is perfect.

Yeah, the disk controls the beam, but I think Alex himself can control the intensity and he probably figured out how to do that off-screen in the time they were training.
Maybe I just remember wrong, but cyclop's eyes are a portal to another dimension made of the energy he shoots. Havok's body is constantly absorbing and releasing ambient and active radiation.

I enjoyed this movie a lot, Erik and Charles relation felt very natural and intense.
I cried when Charles said he did not felt his legs.
Great movie, really entertaining and gave me goosebumps and made me feel many emotions.
Josma Almanza was looking for a positive comment. the movie did really well in executing the story and the cast is amazing.
It out does at least 4 or 5 other X-Men movies without question, really quite good and criminally underrated/overlooked

Totally should've taken a few points off for when Magneto pulls the sub out of the water; that was a great moment!
My biggest problem with this film is when Magneto uses part of a brass bed, I think it was, to choke & crack Emma Frost in diamond form. That is COMPLETELY implausible. Diamond has the highest tensile strength of ANY material, @ 2.8 gigapascals. On top of that, it is the second most incompressible material, being only 7% more compressible than Osmium (which is not as hard as diamond). There should be no way to "choke" her by the neck in diamond form, and brass (or any normal metal) wouldn't even come anywhere near being able to fracture her. That's the whole fucking point of her having diamond form - near invulnerability.

Lamashtar Diamond definitely has fracture planes along which it will crack under the right conditions, however, "a sudden sharp blow" is in no way what was done to her in-movie. I was commenting on what had specifically happened in the film, not trying to make everyone think I know all about everything, which seems to be your objective here. Also, of course she didn't get to pick her powers - I meant that is obviously the point of the comic writers giving her that power, so she could protect herself. You do understand that this is a film of a comic book, both written by writers, correct? This isn't some documentary of a real situation where she was just born with these powers. The WRITERS chose the powers. Maybe take a break from the comics, go outside for a while. Call your mom - I bet she worries.

Therefore no one would question Raven's presence. Interestingly, in the comics, Xavier's hair was blond before he went bald, and Raven's favourite form is a blonde girl (Charles' mother is blonde too, and kinda looks like Raven's disguise) so..there's that...

Yo so it just hit me @ 6:14 Rebecca Romijn is who played Mystique in the previous Xmen movies. Also Raven/Mystique asked if he liked older women and she turned into her future self. I did not pick up on that when I first watched this movie.
I would also have liked a cameo appearance of Rebecca Romijn in Days of Future Past, Rebecca deserved it.

That is so awesome. She was the reason I liked mystique. She had a dark and cold personality but she suffered under humans.

This movie definitely had its flaws, but Michael Fassbender was incredible and made up for almost all of its mistakes. Definitely worth watching for that reason alone.

No reason whatsoever. The writers killed Darwin off for drama, and they had to do that by ignoring the fact that the basis of his power is that he can adapt to anything.
And considering the fact that Darwin's adapted to survive not just supernova-level explosions but death itself, that's just ridiculous.

Everybody who knew about Darwin's powers questioned that. Actually they may have insulted the film out loud (I know I did) since his death doesn't make sense in the slightest. Movie Darwin has the exact same powers as comic book Darwin, which should make him virtually unkillable.

Here are a few more:
-During the whole big fight sequence Banshee dives into the water and stays down there for a ridiculously long time without coming up for air. He has to breathe sometime
-Mystique doesn't walk around naked in this movie
-Mystique isn't the insanely good martial artist we know from the previous movies and doesn't kick anyone's ass
On the flip side they gave her a personality, a character arc, and more than just a few lines
It's kinda a plot point why Mystique is so different. She isn't the same person at all that she is in the later movies, and she keeps herself covered and in human form because she's ashamed of her mutant self. It wasn't until Magneto taught her to stand up for herself that she stopped giving a fuck.
Although I wouldn't mind seeing her walk around naked, there's a good reason why she doesn't lol.

This is literally my favorite movie of all time. I have basically every line of this movie memorized, and I watch it all the time- with or without the English subtitles during scenes in different languages. That being said, a lot of the things he said I totally agreed with. Like the part where he called out Shaw for speaking to the Russian dude in English to make his point clear. I applaud you, Cinemasins.
I never realized how practically all of the women in this movie had at least one scene where they were either naked or half-naked. Wow, that's awful.

Barry Allen If you watch X2 or X3 where Prof. X and Magneto go to interview Jean Grey when she was a kid, Xavier is walking to the door. In Xmen First Class, he loses his ability to walk and his alliance with Magneto before they even encounter Cyclops
streetchico13 Days of Future Past will solve that. If I am correct every single X-men movie apart from First Class has different continuity than First Class. DOFP will have X-men from "future" continuity go to "past" continuity. So in Future continuity Charles and Eric parted ways as old mans where in the Past continuity they parted away as young.

In the comics, Darwin evolves to survive the touch of Hel, Norse God of the dishonored dead.
There is no reason he couldn't survive that little explosion.
He also adapts to fight the Hulk...by teleporting away from the fight entirely. So yeah, he could totally survive that.
Pretty much the entirety of his power is not dying for any reason whatsoever, regardless of how impossible it might seem. Didn't he dive into the M'Kraan crystal itself to save Prof. X and magically they both survived. Not only that but X got his powers back from it somehow.
I thought he only adapts to the forces that touch his skin, but his insides are vulnerable which is where the mini bomb Shaw had was put, right?

No, he can adapt to anything, inside and out.
In fact it's not just life-threatening situations, for a long time his skin color becomes more and more white (in the comics he's latino) so he fits in better with American society, than he turns his skin black when he gets a crush on M, who is black, because he'd rather fit in more with her.

How come at the end of this movie Xavier is paralysed. But towards the start of X-Men Last Stand during the flashback (20 years earlier when they first meet Jean) Xavier and Magneto are both friends AND Xavier is frickin walking!

This one felt a bit forced. A lot of these sins fell a bit cheap. First Class is easily the best X-men movie to date.

Love this movie but another sin is Charles said that those out fits would prevent them form being riddled with bullets implying that they were bullet proof but when eric deflects the bullet it was not the case.
Magneto is more powerful than a gun. Magneto can push a coin through a mutant skull in slow motion. If Charles got shot, the suit would have worked, but it was Magneto that pushed the bullet through him by accident.
he was deflecting the bullets. the speed of the bullet would not have changed. its like when you get oppositely charged magnets together . it should not have gone through the suit if it was bullet proof
