I lived there in the 70’s & 80’s. My dad still lives there. We’ve see floods that literally went over the IH-35 bridge. That same flood rose all the way up to the old post office next to the stagecoach restaurant. Also, the water rose to about 50 ft away from the Mill Creek entrance. Seen some big floods but that was the biggest of them all.
The house you said was “cool” actually belonged to a doctor back in the 70’s. It burned down and he rebuilt. Not long after, the second house burned down. What you called “cool” is what’s left of the second home.
