I was coming to the comments to make the Melkor comment. Feels lazy to me, especially when Melkor is a monolith in LOTR - arguably the one of the only other fictional worlds/universes as popular as Star Wars
@@Dancingontgesun1942 it’s in Star Wars the Bad Batch, even shows the Kamino cities getting blown up by the Empire. Palpatine basically used them for the clones to fuel the war and and the same clones to destroy them when he became emperor
@@connorgunalose Why would they only destroy the one city though? We can assume based on the Empire's behavior after this with the Mandalorians, and the near disappearance of all kaminoans, that they destroyed every city
Thank you for touching on this subject, Stupendous Wave. The Lore Master gave me a bit of insight into the history, but you went more in depth. I’d like to see the history of Alderaan or maybe Kashyyyk or Coruscant.
Darth Plagueis admired the Kaminoans as what he considered a very progressive society; almost Sith-like in both culture and morality. Ironically, it is because of this shared ideological overlap that led both the Kaminoans and the Sith to their downfall. The Sith power struggle weakened them through infighting, allowing the Jedi to end the Sith Empire. The Kaminoans empowered the Republic and later the Empire to their own detriment, and their society destroyed by the very civilization they sold an army to command. The Sith and Kaminoans were victims of their own greed.
This is a fantastic idea for a video series! I enjoyed this much, im sure it gets a little hard thinking of new video ideas everyday but exploring all the species and planets and cultures of ztat wars could get give you ammo for dozens if not more than a hundred videos, keep up the good work wave!
Bro idk, the subject, a weee boring and somehow you make it understandable, entertaining, and deliver it in a relaxing way every, single, time i watch 👌👌
This is very interesting. Really nice history. I think end came when Kamenoans created clones to fight the Empire. 501 came and Empire bombarded Kamino.May the Force be with you too. Have an incredible day too😊
It's kinda been bugging me that there's always some bigger scarier enemy, it's like oh outside the galaxy theres an even bigger empire with scarier sith ideologies etc, like every time there's a new bad guy it seems like it's always bigger and scarier than before. Maybe that's not a fair thing to criticize, it probably wouldn't be exciting otherwise. But I can't be the only person who notices that right?
Yes, it's a tiresome junior-league writing trick. As a culture, we are addicted to the biggest and best for everything. As a counterexample, see the storyline of Ahsoka - they leaned more on mystery and the unknown instead of cooking up a bigger bad, as you say.
To be fair the true Sith in lore have been out in unknown space for a lonnngggggg time and it's part (there's a lot of factors, especially after the rule of 2 got implemented) of why there were thought to be none left in the normal galaxy. A large sith civilization eventually being a threat makes perfect sense at that point
dont know if this is just a direct reference or if they both drew inspiration from the same sources but in tolkein's work, most notably the silmarilion, melkor, later renamed morgoth by the elven smith feanor, was the first dark of middle earth and the mightiest of the valar. he is responsible for most if not all evil of the world, and as melkor of kamino had his blood spilt into the ocean, melkor of middle earth poured the essense of his very soul into the lands of middle earth

When we meet alien life from other planets, the Kaminos fit the suit. Water- worlds with aquatic type beings. There may be a small civilization living in our oceans here on earth. Europa could possibly have an underwater civilization. We can't see it underneath all that ice and water. Life is rare above ground, but deep in planetary cores and oceans. I'm quite sure life is thriving deep inside planets and the ocean depths.

This has to be the single stupidest peace of writing I have ever heard. First the author rips off Tolkien's Legendarium, then he comes out with the mind blowingly stupid melting polar ice caps. Do you have any idea how much ice there would need to be to cover a planet entirely in water? It would have to be a literal ice world. The Earth had a period called Snowball earth lasting millions of years and we still have land. This writing is so bad the author should be arrested for crimes against literacy. This is in no way a dig at this channel, so you still get a thumbs up.

Melkor is the name of the dark lord in the silmarillian ( lord of the rings ) Tolkien
Yeah, really confusing. Tried Googling the battle, but there appears to only be one Melkor--and he ain't in Star Wars!

I wonder what would happen if The Jedi Order in the prequel trilogy would be set on Dantooine instead yeah.

Hope Star Wars doesn't have issues with the use of Melkor from the Tolkien society as this was Sauron's ruler's name.

Very interesting indeed.
Isn’t the name Melkor from Lord of the Rings??
Melkor? What? was the name "Sauron" or "Morgoth" taken?
