  • We caught up with David, a young man from Birmingham with Asperger's syndrome, and followed him through his experience of attending Manchester Gay Pride 2015 for the first time. He tells us what it is like being on the autistic spectrum and explains some of the struggles that he has to overcome so far. © Creative Support 2015.

Oh you are a real hero to come out and tell your story. You could help other people with aspergers get out of their sadness. Hope you will study well a good skill and teach others too.

Aaliyah White true. I am wondering if it is his natural voice. Sounds like it is deeper but he is keeping the pitch higher intentionally.

Okay David from Birmingham, it is September 2019 now, so where are you and how are you coping? I am an Aspie and I only talk to people online - face-to-face I get confused. Just interested. Hope you are well.

@@Indusxstan Hello, I have just had another major surgery. This time on my kidneys. Few medical people understand people on the autism spectrum by nature have compromised immune systems - we just get sicker more often. The worse thing is that people don't understanding Autism and Ambiguity do not mix. So, I had a dreadful time before and after the surgery and have been prompted by my GP to make a complaint about the treatment received. Do you or anyone else on the spectrum have ongoing health problems? I would like to know because we suffer unnecessarily. Hope you and everyone reading this on the spectrum is doing well. I keep to myself, as I age, I just don't understand this world - it seems to be designed stupidly without neurodiversity in mind. Thanks.

Lovely video and great representation for the Neurodiverse community. I'm an autistic Aroace and the people I know that know I haven't/don't ever have a partner would probably think I'm too innocent to even know my sexuality at all coz I'm always happy 😅
