This series must have been a lot of work for you. The video editing and the subtitles must have taken a lot of time. I played this many years ago. I don't even remember how long ago it was. BRAVO!!!!!!
I really enjoy watching your play throughts - i only found you recently, but, great stuff! You have a very calming vibe and it's fun watching you enjoy the games
The first clock tower game I've seen was the one with then Japanese setting. My cousin was playing it in the PS1. And it was the first time any of us ran out of the room scared. Abandoned the player to fight the doll all on his own. In the middle of the day! XD Ah... memories... I hope you play that version soon. :3
TotemoGaijin actually it's a lot like Dario Argento's movies, he's italian but specifically 'Phenomena' had American Actress Jennifer Connelly in the lead (MC looks a lot like Jennifer Connelly) someone gets killed with a pair of scissors, the music is similar, lots of other things that slip my mind. But if you want films with a similar vibe to this Clock Tower entry, then Phenomena and Suspiria are definitely to the two.
So I revisited this video because it was the first one I ever saw of Gab's and HOLY CRAP it blows my mind how much things have changed! Your accent has changed SO MUCH! What a joyful discovery this first video was :)
I know this is me commenting on an old video, but let me just say I love your clock tower let’s play videos. It’s very clear to me that you have a huge appreciation for retro games, and that is probably why I enjoy watching your let’s plays for clock tower. Now here I am, rewatching it as I am bored and also incredibly sick (sorry if this seems a bit incoherent to anyone reading, I just took some NyQuil) but I am also rewatching your clock tower playthroughs to celebrate the new remake that will be coming out next year. I am very excited for it, and I’m definitely wondering what your thoughts are. Gn I’m probably gonna watch some of this and pass out.
I love your videos because the audiovisual quality is so good, and you're not a comedian. I mean that in a good way; while I love 666theheartless666 and him shouting "rubbish!" at ghosts, you provide a different kind of commentary, a very natural, insightful one. So keep up the excellent work. :)
4 years later.. Yeah Clock Tower really showcased just how much you could do on the SNES It's like if you play Final Fantasy Tactics(on the Playstation) and you see how much movement and animation were put into the tiny little sprites.
I've always been so interested in the Clock Tower series. Never got to play them for reasons, but I have read up on them. I think it's awesome that you are playing this! Such a shame the series got shelved, it'd be wonderful if was brought it back, though the possibilities of that are slim to none.
Honestly re watching your old stuff you can really see how your ‘accent’ with English has improved! And the fact you know more then two languages always astounds me!
"Yes I'd like to adopt the two of them just like puppies from a kennel because after all ANYTHING CAN BE BOUGHT AND SOLD FOR THE RIGHT OIIIIIILLLLL!!!!!!!" Okay I got that out of my system
I played this on the super nintendo emulator on the computer when I was a kid. My sister's would sometimes watch over my shoulder and were terrified by the scissors guy. I never got to watch all the endings and so stumbled into your videos.
I have this for the Snes, it eventually got released in English. You can buy it on ebay, or play the sequel on Playstation 1. I prefer the Snes version since it is the Original to all the Clock Tower's. Even some people consider "Haunting Ground" to be the 4th Clock Tower since it took it's ideas from it. Even though it's a completely different game. This game is actually based on "Phenomena" staring Jennifer Connelly.
With the remaster of Clock Tower 1 coming out i thought i would check this playthrough. Hopefully they will remaster all the Clock Tower games especially Clock Tower 3.
Sadly it's not a remaster. I was really disappointed. The strange thing is. Clock tower rewind was announced before the Tomb Raider remasters were announced and yet come out much later than TR. I don't understand why it was took so long when the graphics weren't even remastered.
Having to deal with her mental state in this one seems pretty hard considering just running around makes it worse and you gotta sit in one place for a while to have it recover. It's a game that rewards patient exploration imo
If I remember correctly, the best games in the series were Clocktower 1 and 2 (In the US Clocktower 2 was Clocktower and Clocktower: Ghost head was Clocktower2: Struggle Within). The third kind of lost it's way but has a sort of charm on it's own. but the first 2, were some of the best horror experience I've ever had. Hope you make more vids of this series.
Hey hey!! I just gotta say that before now I had never seen your channel, but I really like your stuff!! I hope you continue this channel for a long time, I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos. Have a good one, n__n Chao!
Finally, a decent let's play of Clock Tower. Very enjoyable and just the right amount of commentary in my opinion. Such a shame this wasn't released outside of Japan for the VC. I have always wanted to play this. Nice one on this.
+David Spring For curiousity's sake, please tell me your definition of "decent". I do like her commentary as well but I'm wondering if you're meaning something about other commentary styles or if you're meaning with just this game.
David Spring im asking what your definition of "good" is lol. My personal preference is if the person playing is being funny without being over edge and allowing viewer to gain connection with commentator(basically not prediepie, mark, or jackskepticeye. Those 3 have styles i dont prefer). This kind I like as well, but not my favorite/most enjoyable by me style. What others have you seen? I know a LOT of youtubers cut out all the exploration in their vids, which I didnt during my crooked man lets play cause exploration is a big part of it. So i think i see what you mean there.
Awesome; thanks! Your videos are great too (big fan of horror stuff as well) and you have so many subscribers for a new channel. We should swap tips; PM us if you want.
apparently this game was meant to be played with the snes mouse, this is why there is always a big cursor on the screen! so, with the right click of the snes mouse, you can use "magic" i guess to get out some dangerous situations, according to the manual
Great 1st episode your Let's Play series on "Clock Tower". :D I never played the "Clock Tower" series myself, excluding "Clower Tower 2: The Struggle Within", which is also known in Japan as "Ghost Head", a Spin-off to the series, which I did not know the very 1st time i played it. I have seen a few Let's Plays on it without commentary, which was during the time I was new to social media and discovered RUclips, back when my brothers and I spent our time playing games non-stop. ^.^ Retro games are Awesome! :D I really miss the atmosphere and music Horror games like these present. Can't wait to see how you react to each choices of Endings. ^.^ Hehe
omg i feel bad for not thoroughly checking out ur channel!! ive been itching to watch a fave letsplayer play this!! i dont wanna play it myself tho, it seems too messed up for me, messed up meaning too freaky XD oh, also i recognize the mansion, it was used in a fanmade Jill Valentine game for android tabs

Keep it up GaB! I subscribed to you recently while watching your Fatal frame 5 walkthrough. its awesome that you can read/understand Japanese and you play horror games. I always wanted to play Japanese horror games but unfortunately I don't know Japanese . So its like a wish come true watching your playthroughs. Great job editing the translations in =]
Wow,you made subtitle of this classic horror games, nice job! I have made subtitles of tv shows by myself several times,so I know the difficulty of making subtitles.Sincere thanks for your hardwork. It's shame I haven't found this awesome channel until now, immediately subscribe now.Ahhh, where is the sub button~~~Oh,there!
Awesome choice GaB! :D I can't wait to see you play more of this wonderful horror game :D (Yeah I'm not a big fan of the Evil Within so I was eager to see you play something else and THAT is GREAT!)
Eeeeee i am doing a Gab translation marathon in 2022, I love checking out all these older games you played! You’ve come so far in only a few years, impressive stuff Goobers-San! X
this is a game I thought I had looked at and brushed off but now seeing it for the first time I think it has a quality about it like resident X-Men. Survival Arcade?
Damn, have always wanted to play these games. I've only had the pleasure of playing Haunting Ground which is one of my favorite games. Thanks for posting this playthrough GaB.
Loving your LP so far haha, I was really shocked to see when I looked at your channel closer that you haven't played any Silent Hill games! I highly recommend them, my all-time favorite horror series. 1-3 are the best, by far, though. And if you ever do play them, don't play 3 without playing 1, and don't play the HD collection (it includes 2 and 3) as there's a slur of things wrong with them, such as the fog rendering distance being way to far for 2, the voices were redone for some reason and they're horrid, though you can change it in the options, and there's a lot of aesthetics wrong with both in the HD collection. Myself, I just finally finished this game about a week ago with the cannon ending (which is A) and started playing the second one on PS1, wonderful games. The third one is just as good, but it plays more like a weird Silent Hill/Resident Evil hybrid. Still a great game, though.
Mustang McKraken Awesome! Thanks for watching and enjoying my vids :D Yes Silent Hill 1 for the ps1 (on ps3, from the psn store so not the HD remake), is coming very soon :) Other clock towers are planned too!
Awesome! I'm excited to see you play them haha. The first one doesn't have an HD remake, unless you count Shattered Memories, which isn't the greatest SH game. It's not bad...just, idk. Something I didn't like about it. Siren, Penumbra, and Eternal Darkness are also very good ones :D My all-time favorite genre of video games is Survival Horror, sadly it's been lacking the last 10 years, or so :(
I liked Dead Space, just hated that about half way through I realized vents are enemy spawn points :( I really need to snag the second one and finish that series. Haunting Ground is on my to-do list, I seriously love these games.Fatal Frame is awesome, too, some really good stuff. Siren reminds me a lot of Fatal Frame in that regard, it's heavily Japanese. It reminds me of a Japanese B-rated horror movie, a Resident Evil equivalent with heavy Japanese influence if that makes any sense. You've convinced me, though, I'm re-downloading Dead Space haha. I need to finish these!
GirlGamerGaB Oh! Also, I can't believe I forgot about it, but Parasite Eve is a lot of fun, as well. Never got around to finishing that game, day 5 always kicked me in the ass :( I always come back to it every few years and never get past that point haha
i never heard of clock tower before i guess this is my first time hearing about this game,is quite slow pace but nice :) such a weird way to die by a parrot:/.... *facepalm* still you really put an end in such important & epic moment dam it XD
I remember bumping into a ROM for this game. I immediately loved the atmosphere, but couldn't keep playing because of the language barrier. I took japanese lessons for a while but not nearly enough to make it useful :( Is there perhaps a fan translated version? I also remember trying out another japanese game with this perspective, similar in many respects except it wasn't horror. I don't remember exactly if it had a point and click control scheme or run and jump, but it definitely wasn't your typical platformer I remember the first scene took place in some sort of kitchen or back alley in the city. It had this gritty feel to it. Unfortunately I once more couldn't make heads or tails of it because of the language. If anybody has any clue I would be very thankful.
MS was fully translated, it's just that the patch isn't out yet, because the game is supposedly a real bastard to hack, and there are plenty of errors to iron out. They've been testing it since May or so, IIRC. I believe they're doing the NES version though, since that one is the original. And yeah, it's a sci-fi VN, basically.
Slowly watching all your old classic horror series! It's great how your vibe has been so chill and fun since the start💕
thats funny cuz I'm doing that exact same thing rn too lol
same ahahaha

Its funny thinking this was never released in the west, when it has such a western aesthetic to the whole thing.

Nevermind, I already had the translation patch. But that other game still remains elusive.
You can play the fan-translated version on an emulator.
you are amazing .. greetings from chile ^ ^
