I miss Robin Williams so much. I've been thinking about him a lot recently because I've been going through a depression. It's really serious stuff. If someone you know is depressed you need to do what you can to help them. You will be like an angel to them.
I asked my wife out of the blue what her favorite game was as a kid. She said Aladdin and lion king. Pulled up this video and we’re watching it together. She’s yelling and cheering at the tv like it’s a football game. She’s LOVING it and is so excited to see it. I’ve never seen her without her phone in her hand. Phone down and full attention on this video. I’m so happy she’s happy.

OMG, my mother was HOOKED on this game in the 90s! My best friend had it and brought it over one time when she was spending the weekend at our house while her parents were out of town. My mother saw us playing it and that was it. She just had to play! My friend ended up letting us keep the game since she somehow had two copies of it and almost every night before bed, my mother would have to get a little Aladdin play time in! My mom was a teacher and she would usually get home from school/work slightly before me and I would frequently find her down in our game room playing it. It was so hilarious because for the longest time, my parents were totally against having video games in the house because they were worried that they would turn me into a zombie and that they would interfere with my school work and sports, but THEY were the ones who ended up getting hooked! Guys and Gals, don't think of this game of what version is better, think of it like this. You have this version for Snes that was developed by Capcom which plays like a Platforming/adventure game. Then you have the Genesis version which is a Hack N' Slash/Action game developed by Disney Software. You have two version of this game which gives you more choices unlike today when a game is released on Xbox/PlayStation there are pretty much the same game with very little difference. While most favorite the Megadrive version, there are quite a lot, like myself, that enjoy the Snes version. My point is, enjoyed the though that there was more variety in the same game for difference consoles so sit back at relax. :)
+Theshark15z Indeed, too many people fight over which is better, that console war ended years ago. Just enjoy the games for what they both are, unique to each other. I own both versions, both are equal in my collection, in my eyes.
+Theshark15z I thought Disney was making near identical versions of games back in the day by Virgin Games. Aladdin was the exception because Capcom still had a contract to make Disney games for Nintendo. Otherwise, there would have been an identical game for the SNES. The Jungle Book and Pinnochio for both platforms were the same game.

Same with Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion and Mickey Mouse Magical quest.. Capcom had rights to Disney games since Nes.. Duck tales,Chip and date, Talespin... Etc it was only right (And I played those religiously especial Chip and Dale)
Back then, Publishers had more variety and were ALLOWED to borrow IPs from other companies with permission. Disney developed Aladdin exclusively for SEGA, and Nintendo wanted an adaptation too, so in order to avoid "Moneyhatting"(which REALLY pisses me off and makes me DESPISE the PS4 with a passion) Disney and SEGA told Nintendo "Get another Publisher to develop an Aladdin titles for Super Famicom and you got a deal", So Nintendo approached Capcom, and everyone was hunky dory.

I always thought both the Sega and the SNES versions had there own merits. SNES is a very classic Capcom game for the time. Run and jump. Simple in premise But executed in standard Capcom flare of the time. (Probably the kings of Run and jump and shoot games in that era) Sega's Was more a hack and slash game Virgin games had few games out. (I still remember having fun with M.C. Kids.) Visually impressive giving the animation tech used, and fun in it's own way. I don't think either was better then the other. just depended on what you liked more.
I played this all the time as a kid and as a teen. I beat the game no fewer than 5 or 6 times. I think I still might have this game memorized even after all of these years!
The genie levels were some of the most well designed platforming segments on the system. Loved this game, despite what those smug Genesis owners had to say. I mean, you get one good game with some hand drawn Disney art and suddenly you wanna make comparisons? Tell me about your versions of A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy VI again? Oh, we're done comparing shit now? Thought so. Not that it bothered me or anything . . .
I am definitely no smug Mega Drive fan, but Ragnacenty, The Legend of Oasis, the Monster World games, and Phantasy Star IV, among others, are some very cool games. I think a lot of people would compare those favorably to A Link to the Past and Final Fantasy IV-V-VI. I know I would, and I say that as someone who thinks Final Fantasy IV is one of the best RPGs ever made. The Mega Drive also has Gargoyles as an exclusive. It also has Maui Mallard and The Lion King, and while those were multiplats eventually (I am told the PC version of Maui Mallard is the best), they were intended as Mega Drive titles (especially Maui Mallard). There's also Sega's Mickey/Donald games. I've also heard great things about a Game Gear version of The Lion King. The SNES also has Capcom's Mickey trilogy, which sadly not many know about. Great games though. I haven't even mentioned the PC Engine either. Really, we are very fortunate to have such great game libraries back then and still today.
I've played both games and I always thought the SNES version was better. The only good thing I liked about the genesis version was the art, but the SNES game is just more fun to play
Those were the times... To actually make 2 games for a movie merchandise which from their gameplay are almost identical but from the levels and graphics absolutely different for 2 different systems was real competition back then. Sega and Nintendo were always battleling for who could make the better games. Nowadays the gaming industry just makes one game, either for XBOX or Playstation and then usually horribly port it for every other platform.
This is not just a video, it's a complete childhood for so many of us out here.

I remembered the box art and it brought me back. Same with Star Fox. I think my older brother used to play those games around ‘94.
Got you something!!! TM!!!! 🎮... 🎁
That was nostalgic, i watched the full video, thank you!
from Brasil.
You must be blind. They play very differently.
このゲームほんと面白かったなぁ
