    Lyrics:
Now when the day goes to sleep
    And the full moon looks
And the night is so black
    That the darkness cooks
    And you come creeping around
Making me do things I don't want to do
I can't believe that you need my love so bad
    Come sneaking around
    Trying to drive me mad
    Busting in all my dreams
Making me see things I don't want to see
    'Cause you're the Green Manalishi
    With the two-pronged crown
    All night, dragging us up
    Or you're bringing us down
    Just taking my love
Then slip away, leaving me here
Trying to keep from following you

@Glenn Hellums While I haven't seen them six times, was fortunate enough to see them twice in the 80's. And you're on to something when you talk about a "twin axe attack" with two guitars. Not only an amazing sound, but a wall of sound.

@@whom382 It sounds better than FM's version because of the heavier instrumentation and the more modern recording technique. It lacks the eerie and haunting qualities the original has. You're right. I remember years ago, reading an editorial about "Judas Priest's rendering of Fleetwood Mac's 'Green Manalishi". I thought, what the heck? This was way before Wikipedia - or even the internet, for that matter - so I had to rely upon finding some hardcore Fleetwood Mac fans for clarity. It was only after diligent research that I learned of Peter Green, and the founding of his band, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. I originally thought this song was some sort of metal-hyper-love-ballad. In fact, it showcases the ever-presence of greed - the mythical god , green, who gives and takes - that can overtake an artist. Peter Green admonished Mick Fleetwood and his bandmates to consider living a more 'artist-in-poverty' lifestyle. This - along with Peter's known drug use - would lead to irreconcilable differences, and, thus, Peter's removal from the lineup. He remains today, as one of the great progenitors of British Blues-Rock to have ever picked up the guitar.

But he's definitely sonically channeling Les Binks on this song.
Scott definitely gets Les's tone here, and that was one of the cool things about Les:
He had great drum tones on his kit, did killer drum fills, and was the first live drummer Priest had that truly slayed on double kick drums.
(Dave Holland, who replaced Les, was not a phenomenal double kick drummer like Scott and Les both are, although Scott's a bit better at double kick than Les, and plays them more frequently.)
Les actually got the gig because Simon Phillips, the studio drummer with the killer double kick drums on *Sin After Sin* didn't want to go on tour with Priest.
Les got the gig because he could actully play Simon's killer double kicks for the *Sin After Sin* tour.
(Les was the drummer who originally played on both the studio version of this song on their *Stained Class* album, and on their first live album, Unleashed in the East Live in Japan.
Which, according to Les, he never got paid for playing on.
      The live album.
Judas Priest's manager asked Les to waive his fees for playing on the live album.
Which they recorded after the Hell Bent for Leather/Killing Machine album.
That's the reason Les left Priest.
Because he didn't get paid for playing on the live album.
"This is also the final studio album for drummer Les Binks who had joined the band in early 1977 in time for the Sin After Sin tour; he is credited with helping develop the traditional Priest percussive sound.
Binks was dropped and replaced by drummer Dave Holland after the 1979 tour because of a financial disagreement where the band's manager Mike Dolan wanted Binks to "waive his fees" for performing on the platinum selling 1979 Unleashed in the East live album."
From Wikipedia's entry on the album Hell Bent for Leather/Killing Machine.)

Those are pre-recorded sounds triggered when Scott plays the drums. Hence why there are no dynamics to Priest's drums since Painkiller.
I love Scott's playing, but if you really want to hear HIS sound, check Racer X out. Fight, with Rob, also.
