My humble opinion, this is the best version of the song I've ever heard.
There's another recording from I think the late 70s. Before Unleashed. I wanna say it was the Royal Albert Hall or something like that. It was a King Biskit Flower Hour. Not sure the spelling. Halford young and strong. His voice was amazing. I had it on cassette and it got ate up in the deck. I've looked for it high and low. Gone forever.

A Touch Of Evil is another super-emotional Glenn solo for me. Some faster duels with KK as well... Ram It Down, Painkiller, Sentinel...doesn't get better than that,
Dont take me wrong, if normally you dont have an emotional moment when listening to a guitar solo is because is something wrong with you, man, Glen for sure one of the best but we have a lot of great guitarrists that delivery amazing emotional solos, thats why i love heavy metal, i am very happy that i cannot choose "the best One" i even dont care witch one is the best.

I was 16 and am now 58. They've always been one of best live bands. Seen them many times- my favorite was either Defenders Tour or Screaming Tour.
I was 16 when I first went to Judas Priest in Amsterdam, which was in 1980 if I remember. in 2019 I went to a Priest concert for the last time in the Netherlands, and Glenn played 3 more songs, that was amazing.
it is and remains one of my all time favorite bands.

Arguably, the greatest guitar solo EVER. Period. Criminally-underrated. Glenn is one of the greatest of all time. This solo almost brings me to tears every time.
ok,so page did his thing first, ,,,,,,,,but time line wise, it was really by only a few years,, the solos on sad wings totally smoke anything page was doing, and a thousand times cleaner than zep, zep did their thing and it was cool, but for me priest takes the guitar solos prize any day

Great solo but greatest ever? I'll name 3 that for the same reason almost anyone can pick out who it is, there are so many that would not even know this song. Stairway To Heaven (as sloppy as Paige is at times, this is spot on even the outro), Beat It, (EVH enough said), All Along The Watch Tower (Hendrix) and then there are about another 100 honorable mentions.

Rob is off stage because he drinks hot tea with lemon and honey as well as ice water to protect his throat. Then, just before he comes back out, he gets a piece of eucalyptus gum to chew on stage. He does it during every long solo.

Glenn is the OG. Super underrated. He can shred and has written some of the most memorable riffs and solos of all time. He deserves so much more recognition
You need to check out Django Reinhardt, my man. 1930's and stlll unsurpassed.

I've been saying this for YEARS. Glenn is, hands down, the most criminally underrated and ignored guitarist in the world, IMO. The world is just fucked up. We have to hear BTL and LAM a gazillion times (I HATE those songs), but never something like this. Or A Touch of Evil or All Guns Blazing. Sadly, Priest has never gotten their due. To me, Glenn's one step below Eddie, but I've worshipped Glenn since I was 11 years old. I'm 52, now.

I remember back in 1990 when I was still living in Texas and I watched on TV the trial that Judas Priest had to go through because of 2 irresponsible brats that decided after smoking weed and getting blind drunk, to kill themselves. After I moved to Ohio in 1991 and in 1995 when I bought my first CD player, I went to Camelot music and Stained Class was the first Judas Priest album I ever bought. Because after the court trial I wanted to find out what the hub bub was about. And I'm still here after all these years and countless number of hours listening to that absolutely awesome album!! I just recently bought my first Judas Priest t shirt from their Amazon store and Stained Class it was!!

Hes so good. I've looked up to his playing since I've been a kid. I used to borrow my uncles VHS tape of Priest Live. I'd stay up late watching it on the big TV when my folks would go to bed.

Not exactly. He can't hit the ultra high notes but he gained a lot of skill in the lower ranges that he didn't have before ripper owens was in the band.
Manowar and king diamond are two great examples of "wtf their voices haven't degraded".

While many consider Tornado of souls solo to be the greatest solo of metal,i always picked this one.
Like who? Marty's technical skills are insane, 5 times Glenn and KK's but technique doesnt write great songs or solos, I'll add that solo is more of a bunch of exercises vs the phrasing here. I'll add most don't even know the song you are referring to.

The first metal band I ever listened to in 79 when I was ten years old and 50 years later they are still going strong, Priest forever.
Judas Priest is the greatest live show I can think of . Can't wait to see them again
I love how older bands talk to their audiences and really show their appreciation for them. Rob does that throughout this show and I think of RJD who absolutely adored his fans. It seems like new metal bands mostly come on stage, barely say anything to their audience, and when they do talk, it's filled with "fuck this" and "fuck that" and they really don't say anything meaningful.
Could you tell me some of the bands you've seen who say "fuck this and that"? I haven't seen a show in years so I'm wondering who the bands are that you're talking about.
saw both bands 4-5 times in their absolute heyday's.......holy diver,sacred heart(3rd row golds) defenders of the faith days and onward and they RELATED AND INVOLVED THE AUDIENCE

We are so lucky that this concert was recorded. Both band and sound crew was spot on. This will never be out done. A masterpiece video sound and performance.
I love how Rob's lower registers have grown so much richer and more powerful as he has matured. Yet he can still pull off a sustained shriek with full intensity. I almost like this better than the studio version and that's saying something. It has a raspy maturity to it that I love. First time I heard this version I didn't realize that Glenn had been stricken with Parkinson's and that adds to the absolutely amazing level of this performance. One of our best friends is struggling with Parkinson's and this gives me hope.
