@colinsmithers6961 that’s probably a 9 simply because I don’t know if I would rank any long campaign game a 10. I don’t have enough drive to play them over and over
Mine is closest to Mark as a CTG nut lol. I knew Colin would appear in top 3. You guys have great chemistry with similar taste 👍🏻 this was such a refreshing content, thanks Mike.
I did an abbreviated matching system where I just counted how many of my 8s, 9s, and 10s made everyone’s lists, and I was a bit surprised by the results. Jeremy is my strongest match, and Meg, Jarrod, and Paul are in a 3-way tie for second. Also, this video has shown me that I really need to try Too Many Bones.
Cool methodology! My closest match was definitely Paul. Though I'm not sure it was the best methodology for me: quite a few people listed only games I had never played before. The one that looks most interesting to me from this list is Obsession.
Do you update your BGG ratings? I went to your profile to see how my ratings match up but some scores were different than in this video and some games were missing that I know you've played and enjoy. Your BGG rating of Uprising Curse of the Last Emperor is a 9 (last updated in 2020 I'm guessing from the original crowdfunding plays) Dawn of the Zeds also didn't have a rating. I rate Uprising a 10 (War of the Ring and Mage Knight are my other 10s) and DotZ 3rd edition a 9. My top 20-30 are almost exclusively thematic co-ops (with WotR the only outlier due to how amazingly it evokes the theme of my favorite IP) so we have a lot of matches in the 7+ range.
No, I stopped rating games some time after I started doing reviews, because I grew to dislike that rating system compared to the more flexible 5 in 5 system. Figuring out my numbers for the games in this video was a bit of a struggle, to be honest :)
My top 10: 10-Mage Knight 10-Uprising Curse of the Last Emperor 10-War of the Ring 2e 9-Frostpunk 9-Lord of the Rings LCG 9-Dawn of the Zeds 3e 9-AuZtralia 9-Skytear Horde 9-Red Dragon Inn Battle for Greyport 9-Nemesis The 9s are in no particular order and fluctuate often in relative ranking below the top 3. I only play AuZtralia and Nemesis in solo or co-op modes.
@@PickleTheHutt my favorites of your list would be mage knight, battle for greyport, dawn of the zeds, war of the ring, and skytear horde. But those are all great games!
Now you have to do the same video with the top 10 people who post the most on the Discord channel 😁 (I posted this yesterday and now it's gone, weird.)
@OneStopCoopShop totally, top 2 are euro guy and campaign guy, which not quite reflective of your taste, just happen to have the best matches. Fun video ideas for sure. Gracias!
I am so very surprised that theme plays such a big role in games for you (what's with the ability to play with sticks and stones...? :) That was a more interesting list than I had anticipated!
Yeah, it's a weird part of my tastes, I'll freely admit. I don't care much about "bling" in games, big miniatures and deluxe components, because they don't tend to contribute to my "thematic immersion" in the experience. But seeing how my actions connect with the world I am playing in, how the mechanics translate into thematically sound game effects, THAT plays a HUGE role in my immersion and enjoyment of many games. Not sure if that makes sense or not :)
@@OneStopCoopShop It makes sense to me, because I am very similar. I am perfectly fine playing a game with bottle caps and dice I scrounged from old Monopoly boxes (and frankly would prefer that over paying $120 for a set of rules and a bunch of bespoke miniatures that take up way too much room on my shelf), but I also consider what the fiction of the game is when I decide how much I want to play it. To give an example, I held off on Mage Knight until recently because I am bored of generic fantasy games and really did not want to play another one even if people really liked it. Theme is the ticket to get me to the table, gameplay picks it up from there and decides how much I will keep playing.

I think it's hilarious (but not surprising) that while you and I may not have been a perfect match, I found a game soul mate in Ricky Royal. LOL
Yeah, I wasn't very shocked ;)
One thing I learned about Mike from this video: he rates his games on a very tough scale!!
Haha, yeah, I only have maybe 3 or 4 games I’d rate a 10 out of the thousands I’ve played in my life
@ I laughed when you said Power Grid is an awesome economic game and then only got a 6.
Just giving ya a hard time though. Loved the video!!
@@OneStopCoopShop Tales from the Red Dragon Inn amongst them?

@TJSomething obsession is great! Definitely worth a try :)
Cue a cascading/ripple effect as every creator does this video!
That would be fun!
Great and fun list Mike! And you better not leave OSCS :p
