- After 2 successful games, the fledgling SaGa series took on a new dev team. How did that work out?
Final Fantasy Legend III, also known as SaGa 3, was developed by Square for the Game Boy. First released in Japan as SaGa 3: Jikuu no Hasha - SaGa 3 [Kanketsu Hen] ("SaGa 3: Ruler of Time and Space [Final Chapter]") in 1991, it received a Western release in 1993 under the Final Fantasy brand.

The quality of this review is excellent. So many things in this game are a step backwards from FF2 (the cyborg mechanic felt particularly out of place) and yet the sum was greater than the parts. FF2 was my all time favorites as a kid and I was very afraid this would disappoint when it came out but overall was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Love hearing what sounds like a southerner reviewing this game. I’m not the only one!
Thanks for watching! Not quite a southerner, but I love visiting
Youre not alone
One of my favorite games. Thanks for the honest review!
Thanks for watching!
I like it a lot though not as much as II or most of the later Saga games. It felt a lot different from the first two but the jRPG selection on the Gameboy in the US was so limited in the pre-Pokemon and Final Fantasy VII days that I think the difference was a good thing.
I love Romancing SaGa (too).
This game was masterpiece...
I liked this one as a kid a lot more because it felt like a real Final Fantasy game more than the other two (I didn't exactly know that it wasn't at the time) and I thought the ship that time traveled was really cool. This is the only one I haven't finished.... I should get on that. I only finished 1 and 2 in recent years and thought they were both pretty okay, but not great. Interesting.
One downside is that magic can miss.
Personally, I really love the overworld, temple, and Talon BGMs in this game.
The rest of them are pretty forgettable though, yeah.
Oh I really liked this one! Was it made by the same team who did Mystic Quest? The jump feature and shared assets gave it a similar feel.
Yes it was
I wonder if this guy likes romancing saga...
Why the weird voice?
