My 2 guinea pigs always scream as hard as they can when im picking them up. I pick them up the comfortable way because i watched a lot of videos of how to take care of them as i found them in my dumpster. Maybe, they were getting abused by the past owners.
It's great to hear that you're putting in the effort to take good care of your guinea pigs. It's possible that their previous experiences might be influencing their behavior when being picked up. Remember, animals can carry past traumas, and it might take some time for them to feel completely comfortable and safe around humans.

Just an FYI: I asked my Veterinarian about toe trimming once. They said it would be $200 per piggy. I learned how to do it myself! It may be different in other states or towns.
