I ahve never heard of this series, tbh! It does have some parallelisms to other series, but it may be due to when it was published. I'll definitely check the movie, it seems quirky!
I think I need to as well! The main character is a great actor in a lot of shows I like today. He was also Charlie in Charlie and The chocolate factory!
I was always disappointed how the movie made Mulgaraths' design so bland. It feels so generic compared to the book version and we didn't get to see the trash palace
I respectfully disagree with this take. Mulgraths movie design was truly monstrous and I loved the various horns protruding from his back and head. Was otherworldly and beastly. The novels version was definitely a more elegant and regal version that was much more intimidating than terrifying. While the movies ending should have included the trash palace and a final battle, I loved the chase sequence. Made for a cool final level in the game as well. A definite mark on my childhood nonetheless
I want to see you do the other 3 books.

You should look into The Boggart by Susan Cooper
I didn't even know there were books....the movie is great...i'm going to have to keep an eye out for the books when I do my used book shopping.
We've watched the movie as a family, but I don't think we got into the books. I could be wrong as my kids have TONS of books.
The fourth book is the best IMO and it’s the book that is left completely out of the movie adaptation
