At this rate we'll be stuck in an era of switching between 3-4 different editors just like we switch between Netflix to HBO to Disney+ etc.

I always used to use capcut because it gave me the ability to create professional looking videos without the boundaries of a professional type software (Like Adobe's subscription or Davinci's hard learning curve). I really do recommend it for any beginners looking to make professional looking videos. However, I have recently left Capcut, because it was about a 50% chance that mp4s would turn into mp3s and it would make the editing process like 4x longer.

      Here are some examples:
      Cut (without re-encoding): ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -ss 00:00:12 -to 00:02:30 -c copy output.mp4
      Rotate by 180°: ffmpeg -display_rotation 180 -i input.mp4 -codec copy output.mp4
Scale resolution of a video to 1920 pixels (keep aspect ratio): ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "scale=1920:-2" output.mp4
      Fade first 5 seconds of a video: ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vf "fade=t=in:st=0:d=5" out.mp4

i used to be a podcast editor, and i decided to challange myself with only using capcut for 1 video and my god it's a nightmare for a huge long project like podcast with 3 different camera perspective. but for short form which i sometime make for the clips, it's a godsend! especially the auto caption thingy, just need a little bit of adjustment and tweak a little bit and it saves a lot of time.
and back then, capcut got a little bit of bug where when you speed up the video, the audio will go stay on original speed and go out of sync so you need to restart the app and it'll back to normal. oh and for some reason it sometime freezes on my pc for couple sec for no reason..

i don't get why people in this comment section hating capcut 😑 many people use capcut because either they can't afford other premium video editing software or their device can't run those softwares smoothly, just like mine. i have a potato laptop with i3 330m cpu and it takes ages to open premiere pro (i tried crack btw) and also it lags a lot. i also tried to run older versions of premiere pro and its just too laggy as compared to capcut. i am a beginner editor so i find capcut more user friendly.

its not just that capcut is expensive but also you need good quality hardware such as a good gpu in order to use adobe after effects for example. whereas capcut you can just use on your phone even. if it was not for the hardware requirements in ae, i would personally be willing to pay the money

Hi. I ditched Premiere for CapCut. I've edited in premiere for almost 10 years and last year I switched to CapCut for faster editing and rendering. I'm never coming back to Premiere since in my line of work (3 to 5 reels per day for the clients) the editing software had to be lightning fast

I use capcut to make tiktok edits, it's much more capable than what you showed here, I'm slowly switching to AE tho which will help improve the videos a lot. I like that you mess around with the shortcuts, so definitely will start using some of those. Also; the pro features are everywhere now, so I have to screen record the edits when I'm done, and thats not ideal at all and one of the reasons I'm switching to AE (Cracked)

as an old capcut editor, i can say the experience is solid but since i am indian downloading effects are hard and if there are any good effects they are either paid or just gone.
After effects on the other hand is more detailed and for simple things get more hard, but with its own benefits being better effects that need to be paid but no one literally does people crack after effects and use it on a daily basis.
