I'm thinking that the house used to belong to either Link or Link's Father 100 years ago. But when the Calmity happened, Link got put in the shrine of ressurection and his father mostly likely died. And in the dialouge options you can choose, Link seemed pretty eager to buy the house himself. "I can buy it!" "I'll pay!" It's like Link remembered subconsciously that THIS was his home! In the final memory you have to discover in that Memory Quest, they were running toward Fort Hateno. I'm guessing that in the panic of trying to find a safe place for Zelda, Link thought of bringing her to Hateno Village. If you look at the map, Hateno is quite a ways away from Hyrule Castle. In his panic, his first instinct was to go home but he never made it because the Guardians were too quick and got their either before or at the same time as them while they were chasing them.

I fell in love with so many Game OST before but man... this one hit me right in the feels It's hard to describe why but it just feels like home... it feels returning home after a long tiring journey, just laying in your bed and relaxing, the sun is shining on your face and you have no care or worry in the world. Whenever I hear this song tears come to my eyes, it's so beautiful yet has something melancholic to it. Whatever hardship you may be going through remember you're not alone. You may feel like you've lost everything, but remember that tomorrow is another day, the sun might shine brighter than it did before. Don't give up hope that the good days will come back, sometimes you feel like the world is just clouds and rain, but that's part of life, part of change, and like such, eventually they will fade away and the sky will be clear again.
I’ve been listening to this ever since my anxiety about college started. It really helps calming me down. I just hope I don’t disappoint everyone and I can stay with my friends. I’m about to leave high school, and almost everybody in my life will probably be gone. I’m just scared I’ll mess everything up and everyone will leave me. I hope I can stay strong. If Zelda could stay strong for a century, then that means I should be able to stay strong for 4 years as well. I’m sorry for writing a paragraph and being really down. I’m just very scared of this new chapter in my life.
1:12 - it's subtle and not a lot of people will get it, but the little piano phrase is a throw back to the 'inside a house' theme from previous zelda games. This game just keeps blowing me away.
This song made me buy a switch and this game. I was watching my friend play it and as soon as he visited Hateno village and this song came on I knew I needed to have it.
I would love a loop of only the daytime portion. Don't get me wrong, the nighttime version is lovely and I would like a loop of that one, too, but. But gosh. GOSH. That day theme.
This game really feels like a second life. I wonder how the game would feel if there wasn't a grand quest. Like a Zelda game without Ganon. You can become a chef, or a master shield rider, or a fighter. Anything. I wonder if the game would be better or worse if there wasn't an ultimate objective set on the player. Regardless, this game really does take me somewhere else.
@@cunha4791 that would be really fun in botw 2. you could help the uncorrupted guardians clear out monsters in destroyed towns and get wood to rebuild those places. it would be like tarry town but all across hyrule.
Here I am, in the middle of the night in a hot Southern summer, crying to this beautiful theme. I decided to come back to BoTW after a long while by listening to the music first, and... Oh my. I didn't expect the memories to come flowing back like this, not to this intensity, especially when the violin started to play. Getting the Shrine there for the first time... Buying the house... Dyeing my clothes... Buying armor... Going to the inn and talking with the NPCs there... I remember it all. And, above all I remember the very Christmas that I got this beautiful game which let me experience all of this. Breath of The Wild... I thank you. So much. And I'm going to return to you after all this time.
It’s probably because music really doesn’t keep playing so it goes off after a while and all you can hear are the sounds of nature, so either they just miss it or well they just have awful taste in music Not me though when I hear something special even just once I will remember it because it was so great and will come back to listen to it again.
No other village as ever made me feel more at home in a video game. This is the place after a grueling battle where you can go, kick back, rest and relax, and heal up before heading out where to go next.
This theme hit me right in the heart, in a very good way. It gives me a feeling similar to what I experienced when I first played Ocarina of Time as a kid. Zelda truly is a work of art, it's beyond just a video game at this point.
Zelda games has yet again made an impression on my heart and will never forget the wonderful memories made. Along with Link To The Past, Awakening, The Wind Waker, and Ocarina Of Time.
Time to put my good items on display in my house, never to use them ever. Oh and there's that creepy statue over there that takes away my heart containers for some reason...
Yami I like how they have one creepy thing there and that the little girl found it! that's a good touch on this game man they made this game like somthing else well made game love it
the creepy statue will take one heart container or stamina container and give you one back of your choice (basically just swapping heart for stamina or vice versa) first time is free after that u gotta pay for it
I actually spent DAYS in this town the first time I played because it was nice to be in a town filled with people. Keep in mind I have only met the Old Man and some stable up until this point. I just stuck around for several in-game days. I just wanted to share this.
The bagpipe is really and underrated instruments, Nintendo uses it to full perfection in this piece. It's not brash or overbearing, it's small and timid and slow and methodical. It doesn't beat you over the head, it just simply is. I love this part of the ost because of the bagpipe, it really plays into that air of Scottish highlands.
The Zelda series is my favorite video game franchise by far. The music is legendary and timeless. I say that to say, this song is up there with some of the classic Zelda tunes. It is in my opinion, up there with "song of storms".
Hearing this makes me wanna go back to when the Switch first came out. I know that time period was considered boring due to the lack of games, but this is the best possible game they could've started out with. I remember texting back and forth with my friends asking which shrines they found, giving each other clues as to where to locate the next one. Before everyone had finished the game and stuff and there was not really anything to Google, it was nice to just relax and play this amazing game. I can't wait for BotW 2!
The Supreme Xtream I loved the soundtrack in this game. Many people failed to understand that this isn't your typical Zelda game and to realize that there was no need for epic music while climbing a mountain.
Crazy to think its been 5 years since the game has come out and that there is a new one on the way. Hope nintendo makes the new BOTW coming up as great as a game as this one
The chord progression in this is absolutely amazing, the key center is ambiguous and moves around a lot in the A and C sections, Em11 to F#m9 and back is beeeeautiful
I think this was the first song that made me feel at home with this game. And it opened me up more to the great music that comes as well! I love how it mixes both day and night together, and it captures the fullness of this song.
Hateno has the prettiest pots in my opinion (take it from me I have studied the pots and have plenty of screenshots) they are simple yet the design elegantly captures the vibe.
It wasn't disappointing just subtle, which isn't common for a Zelda game. I personally think it works amazingly, and actually adds to the world more than takes away from it.
This is my favourite village theme of the game. So lovely and relaxing and homely. Probably the village I'll choose to live in if I was actually living in Hyrule.
Just started playing BOTW for the first time a few weeks ago. My first Zelda game as a 12 year old was Ocarina of Time. Im in my mid 30s now and didn't get around to playing this one cause I was too busy. This game, while so different from any other Zelda game I've played, is great. This and Rito village theme are my two favorites so far.
I remember the first time I came across this town. The town itself as well as the music just felt so homey and nostalgic, I specifically remember thinking, "I'd love to live in a place like this," only to learn later than I actually would be living here! Such a magical game.

You got this!!!!! :)
I used to think that. Now inn 27 and talk to very few people from HS lol. And it’s ok
Good luck on college!! Wish you the best!
Think of it like this, now you’ll be able to find friends with even more in common now at college, and you’ll do great so don’t worry
"bReAtH oF tHe wIlD hAs nO mUsIc"
Hateno Village: "Hold my color dye"
1:12 - it's subtle and not a lot of people will get it, but the little piano phrase is a throw back to the 'inside a house' theme from previous zelda games. This game just keeps blowing me away.
How the heck did you catch on to that!? Crazy! Props!!
This song made me buy a switch and this game. I was watching my friend play it and as soon as he visited Hateno village and this song came on I knew I needed to have it.
Just make sure you follow the Bolson Construction Naming Guidelines
Wrong town but yea
Andrew G it is Hateno village lol
Andrew G
That’s the right town...
Okey-doo.
Tarrey Town, not Hateno.
I would love a loop of only the daytime portion. Don't get me wrong, the nighttime version is lovely and I would like a loop of that one, too, but. But gosh. GOSH. That day theme.
A. O. Listen on Repeat erryday
That would be objectively the perfect game. It would be something for everyone to enjoy.
I wish we could just be able to play after Ganon is defeated but I guess they keep that for BOTW2
@@regentofnothing Yeah, when I finished the game I was like "I can't wait to see hyrule restored" but it didin't happen
@@cunha4791 that would be really fun in botw 2. you could help the uncorrupted guardians clear out monsters in destroyed towns and get wood to rebuild those places. it would be like tarry town but all across hyrule.
me too
Here I am, in the middle of the night in a hot Southern summer, crying to this beautiful theme.
I'm glad to know that Link lived in Hateno before he was a knight.
One of the best and most pleasant locations of breath of the wild.
It was officially confirmed on the Treehouse stream yesterday that Link is canonically from Hateno Village!
FCK YEAH IT'S CANON
Just something about listening to those uilleann pipes gives me the chills right down my spine, amazing sounding instrument
I don't know how people say this game has awful music because of the piano and all, this game's music is absolutely beautiful
I don't know how some people says this game doesn't have memorable tracks
The guardian theme will forever traumatized me
It’s probably because music really doesn’t keep playing so it goes off after a while and all you can hear are the sounds of nature, so either they just miss it or well they just have awful taste in music
Not me though when I hear something special even just once I will remember it because it was so great and will come back to listen to it again.
No other village as ever made me feel more at home in a video game. This is the place after a grueling battle where you can go, kick back, rest and relax, and heal up before heading out where to go next.
My new favourite Zelda theme. So sad but so beatiful...
melanchlorin I get the same vibe
melanchlorin Interesting that u feel the same way
How is it sad?
@@Logan1736 because it is so full of harmony that doesn't seem to exist in our modern lifes
This theme hit me right in the heart, in a very good way. It gives me a feeling similar to what I experienced when I first played Ocarina of Time as a kid. Zelda truly is a work of art, it's beyond just a video game at this point.
Can't believe I actually feel nostalgic for this game now... :(
Zelda games has yet again made an impression on my heart and will never forget the wonderful memories made. Along with Link To The Past, Awakening, The Wind Waker, and Ocarina Of Time.
Despite Link moving to Tarrey Town in TOTK, Hateno still feels more like home. It has such a nostalgic feel.
You haven't lived until you've jumped from the tech lab hill and glided along this village while listening to the music.
I can already feel the nostalgia growing
5 YEARS BRO TF
whenever i come back to Hateno I can just breathe a sign of relief... such a nice break from the calamity-torn world 🤩
Time to put my good items on display in my house, never to use them ever. Oh and there's that creepy statue over there that takes away my heart containers for some reason...
Yami I like how they have one creepy thing there and that the little girl found it! that's a good touch on this game man they made this game like somthing else well made game love it
Such a good game!
the creepy statue will take one heart container or stamina container and give you one back of your choice (basically just swapping heart for stamina or vice versa) first time is free after that u gotta pay for it
I actually found this statue very very late in the game ......what made it even more creepy to me, like I keept her waiting.
I generally only use one or two extensions for the stamina meter and stock up on extra hearts
0:33 gets me every time. It makes me feel so nostalgic even though I've never heard this theme before playing this game. Love it!
Yeah same!
Have you ever have the urge to bawl your eyes out not because the piece is sad but because it's beautiful? Yeah it's the feeling i get
I actually spent DAYS in this town the first time I played because it was nice to be in a town filled with people. Keep in mind I have only met the Old Man and some stable up until this point. I just stuck around for several in-game days. I just wanted to share this.
I don't know why this theme is so cute, brilliant tone for a little villiage
This is the most chill music like I would listen to this doing anything.
Those are actually Uilleann Pipes, they're kinda like Irish Bagpipes.
Indeed I like it too, I like that it's becoming a popular instrument in soundtracks
Really does bring you into memories of better days. I seriously think thats what this song represents. Even links home is here too.
The Zelda series is my favorite video game franchise by far. The music is legendary and timeless. I say that to say, this song is up there with some of the classic Zelda tunes. It is in my opinion, up there with "song of storms".
This hits soooooo hard now. Cant believe it has already been 7 years😢
I love this theme so much, I've spent hours just sitting in hateno village listening to the music with a big smile on my face
And people say that the Soundtrack isn't good in this game? Pfft What are they talking about?
I can see why people do not like the soundtrack since it is atmospheric unlike all other Zelda games, but I still love the music in this game
The Supreme Xtream I loved the soundtrack in this game. Many people failed to understand that this isn't your typical Zelda game and to realize that there was no need for epic music while climbing a mountain.
The Supreme Xtream it's good but compared to other zelda games it's garbage lol
@@ratillajeje934 Yeah... *no.*
Civilized Joke no.....yea...
I recently got to this town for the first time. I didn't realize how much I liked it unt I found myself humming to it at work. It's too good.
I love this so much, especially the violin part
Listening to this on the eve of totk to refresh myself.. I wonder how the village will be in this sequel
The bagpipes are a nice touch.
*Uilleann Pipes
Would honestly sell my soul to live in this village, its just so home-y 💜
I sold my switch and now a simple breath of the wild song is nostalgic for me.
Hateno has the prettiest pots in my opinion (take it from me I have studied the pots and have plenty of screenshots)
they are simple yet the design elegantly captures the vibe.
*insert intense screaming of Bolson and Karson*
2:40 so beautiful.
brings some final fantasy x vibes
what about 6:13 ?
I really hope and dream this music returns for BOTW2
Hateno = hate no = no hate = Peace :)
Hateno I think means Destination in Japanese, so roughly is "Destination Village"
"The Peace of your Destination"
Sounds weird but it sends a great feeling.
@@horosha1432 Well it makes sense in both Japanese and English
A lot of people: Breath of the Wild music was disappointing
Hateno Village Theme: Am I a joke to you?
They are referring to the general mood. I am sure they know about the damn village music. I wish they took the Grant Kirthope route.
They r *not* disappointing ⊙_⊙
It kinda was, except for the Hateno theme, Molduga and Final Boss theme.
It wasn't disappointing just subtle, which isn't common for a Zelda game. I personally think it works amazingly, and actually adds to the world more than takes away from it.
This helps quench my thirst for the upcoming BOTW sequel.
My man
This is my favourite village theme of the game. So lovely and relaxing and homely. Probably the village I'll choose to live in if I was actually living in Hyrule.
I love this game
i love you
@@lazyboy8886 thanks gang
Those transitions between the day and night themes are so buttery smooth I love it
Just started playing BOTW for the first time a few weeks ago. My first Zelda game as a 12 year old was Ocarina of Time. Im in my mid 30s now and didn't get around to playing this one cause I was too busy. This game, while so different from any other Zelda game I've played, is great. This and Rito village theme are my two favorites so far.
So whimsical I love it! Feels like home whenever I visit Hateno 🥰
The xylophone sounding thing makes it sound like a Pokemon Sun and Moon soundtrack.
it's only been a months since a got the game, and only a week staying in Hateno Village yet here I am, feeling nostalgic. oh goodness
Lets be honest, we all waited outside at night for this beautiful song to play
Thanks for uploading! I never linger in the town long enough to listen to this gorgeous Zelda track.
I remember the first time I came across this town. The town itself as well as the music just felt so homey and nostalgic, I specifically remember thinking, "I'd love to live in a place like this," only to learn later than I actually would be living here! Such a magical game.
The first time I came here I was 8, absolutely amazed
