Yes! This song just portrays the goal that Link is trying to accomplish, the make everything back to how it used to be, peaceful. So beautiful, so many goosebumps!
I love this picture. Speaks a lot for the game as a whole. You explore every new landscape before you, having your sights set on what lies immediately ahead. But Ganon's terror lies relentlessly in the back of your mind. Stand at any high point at any corner of the map, and you might just be able to see the castle in the distance. With each blood moon you are reminded of the cause. So you seek to surmount the highest hurdles knowing the kiss of death lies at the core of your journey.
I got married, and my wife walked down the aisle to this exact song. To this day, I still can't get over just how beautiful this song is and what it means to me personally. Still makes me cry to listen to it.
"The volcanic home of our feathered ancestors has long since faded into the earth and seas.. Yet an old tune still dances at the tips of our beaks." The rhyme was totally unintentional
I'm still wondering if Ritos in both Wind Waker and BotW are mammals or birds... The ones in Wind Waker are probably more mammal, because they can change their wings into human hands, and they have to get a scale from Valoo in order to fly. the Ritos in BotW just fly on their own, and they're bird from head to toe, except they're really intelligent and stand up.
I prefer 1.5 speed myself. still up beat but retains some of it's relaxing tones, like shifting from blue to green. makes the audio a bit glitch though.
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..." Wind Waker came out 18 years ago. I remember playing it when I was young(er). Yet, still it feels like it was just days ago.
I play clarinet and the Rito themes are so much fun to play. That includes this, Revali's theme, everything Kass did, etc. Most of the music isn't very difficult and is incredibly fun to play and destress to. ;)
I stopped everything when I first walked into Rito Village. I was not expecting this callback, but it was so beautiful. I just had to stop and admire this theme.
I love how the music is not virtually conducted unlike many other games, so you can faintly hear small details, like the brief breathing of the flute player. ❤
I was wondering why this sounded so familiar considering I never played BoTW but then I remembered my times playing wind waker. Memories suck man, especially the ones that hurt the most, but they're there for a reason. They are there to remind you of much simpler times that you used to have. Times that were special to you and remain special to this very day. Whether it be some simple minded game that you used to play and grew fond of, or maybe it's something more than just that, something more powerful. Either way, those memories are there to stay forever, maybe you should go pick up that gamecube controller and finish ocarina of time, or complete that house in minecraft that you had all the plans for but never got to it. Just take time to relive the past and enjoy yourself one last time. Love yourself because if you don't I will.
This song must be one of most soothing songs for me, it just makes me feel at home and that everything is gonna be alright... I don't know what it is about it, but I absolutely love it
You can always tell that Nintendo was the one that revived video gaming with all the impressions they continue to make to this day. The music is so professional and perfect alone; music like this track is just one example of the very, very many.
coming back to rito village in tears of the kingdom was such a gut punch. not having the rito village theme was such a good touch to immediately let us know that something is very wrong. ugh i love these games
The first time I arrived to Rito Village was at night. Finally having reached it after so much travelling, running up the stairs looking for the shrine while this wonderful music played, it all felt really magical. From the glimpses of the village I managed to catch in the dim light, and guessing the day theme would be an even better version of the night one, I could already tell I was going to love that place, and I couldn't wait for when the sun would rise again and I'd get to admire it in all its glory.
This song makes me want to cry. It's so beautiful, and brings me back to happier times with my grandpa before he tragically passed away unexpectedly two years ago.
I just finished the game after over a year and 150+ hours. I'm kind of sad because I want to live inside that world for a little bit longer, do you know what I mean?
Keep playing it! It's an amazing game and I feel like, even if you fight the same monsters, go back to the same areas, or traverse the same terrain, you can do it in so many subtly different ways, and encounters will almost always have slightly different ways things play out. Nothing says you have to stop playing it. ( unless of course you want to )
I lie here in my bed on January 29th with the outside temp a cool 50 degrees perfectly mimicking a cool summer evening. I decided to listen to this as I felt a sense of nostalgia for the summer of 2020 when I started playing this game and got obsessed with this game even watching my mom play till the early hours of the next day.I love this game.
I had to take a 20 minute break when i heard that song for the first time. i played wind waker basically every day after school for years and they do this to me
Genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. Listened to this so many times, and learned it on piano. There really is nothing like video game music.
Idk why but in games like BOTW and Genshin I always find myself loving the night themes way more.. There's just something so soothing about them, makes me wanna take a nap on a soft bed of leaves....
is music in genshin really that good? I've played sumeru and I swear most of the lyre songs in the aranara quest sound like the start of this. I've never really listened to any music that led me to search online for it compared to other games like Zelda or FF
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Minor Spoiler Warning //// When Revali said "I think the wind may finally be at our backs," it was such a minor line, but it still made me happy because it reminded of a similar line used in Wind Waker... Wind Waker was the first game I played that made me realize that video games were a form of art that could impact people in such positive ways. Any reference to Wind Waker in the Breath of the Wild games makes me tear up now including this song. I can't describe the pure joy I felt when Nintendo revealed the Rito and Koroks were in BOTW. Thank you for everything Nintendo.
Hearing this fills me with such a bittersweet feeling, I remember playing wind waker as a child and getting to dragon roost, Hearing the music for the first time while playing with my little brother and both of us just loving it, I didnt even know what i was doing in the game I just knew i loved it. I never noticed the song in Rito the first time I played breath of the wild but if i did i know i would have balled my eyes out. I dont get the feeling of nostalgia from most songs but this one hits home, I would give anything to experience those moments again but since I cant i guess thats what makes them so special. I cant wait to have kids and watch them play these games and create the same amazing memories i hold so dearly.
I remember whem I first heard this song, my mom was still alive, my father loved me, gramdma whitout dementia and my kidneys where functioning properly, now everything seems so grim but this song is still very biutiful and really brings tears to my eyes.

Got my switch in 2017. Only game I had for a while was BotW. I did everything. It’s my favourite game, mainly because the feeling it gave me was indescribable. I don’t really know myself, but it was definitely enhanced by the soundtrack. The feeling of adventure and how much there was to do and how much was unexplored was amazing. When wandering, without really any purpose, birds whistling and a few subtle piano notes were so calming. I went on to play lots of different Zelda games, the older ones. They were amazing as well. But BotW was my favourite of all time. As I said, that feeling of a fresh new land to explore was amazing. I don’t think any other game can make me feel that again. And every once in a while, I come back to play BotW. And every time I feel that amazing feeling again. I hope other people can relate to this too! Happy playing.
I played Wind Waker (Wii U version) 5 years ago in 3rd grade Arriving in Rito Village just today, was an immediate throw back of Dragon Roost Island (I shouldn't have dropped this game for those 2-3 years that I've played it man)
Rito Village is my absolute favourite place to stay in botw. Its so chill. It also resembles my real home. The mountains. I have no idea how the developers did it, but I feel at home in Rito Village.
One of the only open world games that truly felt like I was on an adventure. One of the only games to make me feel nostalgia for towns and people like I was really there. Insane
I started to weep when i heard the dragon roost island theme in the song because wind waker was my favorite game before this. I spent hours on that island and now i hear it played like this and.. it takes my breath away.
Rito Village. So blissful 🎶 Day and Night. It doesn’t matter. I love all the tracks in BOTW but this one always hits me. The vibe feels like home. Beautiful scenery Kind villagers Rito children playing and laughing Offering to defeat a giant mechanical Divine Bird in the sky. It’s great. Lol My favorite village thus far I always come here just to take a break and relax and chill to the music 😊 Hope it’s in BOTW2 !
At normal speed, Dragon Roost Island's theme is a refreshing tune, betraying a sense of summer. Slowed down? It's a somber tune. You'll find yourself wiping away a tear and wondering why it was there.
When I heard the dragon roost island theme in this I legit almost cried. Windwaker has been on of my favorite games since I was like 5 and dragon roost island was my favorite place to go ❤️
man i kinda wanna go back to when i first played botw, the first view of coming out in shrine of resurrection took my breath away, and im very much sure thats what it did to other people too.
The only way I can describe this is viciously throwing me back to my childhood. I didn't know why at the time but the rito village theme resonated with me so well during my first botw playthrough I started humming it a lot during gameplay but I couldn't even remember where I heard it before at the time. Now three years later and 3 years of playing the game on and off I saw something somewhere about windwaker and It rekindled a huge nastolgia in me as it was one of my first games and first zelda game. I was so young I forgot all about the music in the game and when I heard the dragoon roost island theme again for the first time in so many years I was so happy. I remembered my time in the game and it explained my enfatuation with the rito. I obviously knew they were a major part in wind waker I remembered that much, but now that I can fully remember my love for that isalnd and its theme ive refound my love for them. Sadly All I can do is wait for a remaster or port to switch if I want to play windwaker again, but i'll be patiently waiting so I can once again play that childhood masterpiece.
I spent a lot of time here because I love making different types of rare recipes when cooking and this is one of the only 2 places in the game that sells tabantha wheat
This game changed my life. I became a Zelda fan, played all 3Ds and know im happy everytime im playin Zelda game and listening to this amazing Zelda music... ❤️
Right after I had defeated Vah Medoh, it was turning night and I was about to leave the village, but I basically got hypnotised by the music and stopped on a balcony just listening to the music and watching the moon rise and move through the sky.
I always thought that people were cringe when they say that they cried by the nostalgia just by listening to a simple song, but know I can understand what, they mean...those endless hours spent behind Wind Waker were coming back with this lovely soundtrack :')
yeah it is like at 0:48 the first 2 or 3 notes are the same as in the Kiki's Delivery Service - Umi no Mieru Machi at around 15 seconds, then its like the main theme in Castle in the Sky
No it is the Dragon Roost theme slowed down. Dragon Roost is original but this is hardly. Still absolutely love it and actually prefer it to Dragon Roost theme.
The part right before the Dragon Roost Island part sounds very Twilight Princessy...its like a part of the staff roll....when I first heard it i was expecting the staff roll
I basically spent day and night here just for the song. Just for the view. And the adorables baby birds too haha.
Yes!

I want to sleep to it but to also admire it's beauty at the same time.
Rito Village. So blissful 🎶 Day and Night. It doesn’t matter.
I love all the tracks in BOTW but this one always hits me.
The vibe feels like home.
Beautiful scenery
Kind villagers
Rito children playing and laughing
Offering to defeat a giant mechanical Divine Bird in the sky. It’s great. Lol
My favorite village thus far I always come here just to take a break and relax and chill to the music 😊
Hope it’s in BOTW2 !
I Hope It expands in botw 2 with New villagers(plus The old ones)
At normal speed, Dragon Roost Island's theme is a refreshing tune, betraying a sense of summer. Slowed down? It's a somber tune. You'll find yourself wiping away a tear and wondering why it was there.
Fun Fact: The Rito species has only appeared in two Zelda games: The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild.
When I heard the dragon roost island theme in this I legit almost cried. Windwaker has been on of my favorite games since I was like 5 and dragon roost island was my favorite place to go ❤️
this sounds similar to an animal crossing night theme at the beginning.
Those colorful chords, tastefully strummed by the guitar... My favorite in the entire game
man i kinda wanna go back to when i first played botw, the first view of coming out in shrine of resurrection took my breath away, and im very much sure thats what it did to other people too.
Sadly All I can do is wait for a remaster or port to switch if I want to play windwaker again, but i'll be patiently waiting so I can once again play that childhood masterpiece.
when I heard this for the first time I nearly cried. The nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks.
In love with the chord at 1:24
Me too
Same
I listen to this almost every night. It makes me so happy.
if this aint playin at my funeral then i aint dyin
I spent a lot of time here because I love making different types of rare recipes when cooking and this is one of the only 2 places in the game that sells tabantha wheat
I arrived at the village the first time at night and this music greeted me. Amazing experience.
What a beautiful music!
This soundtrack just slower then the day version
But this is more expressive, love it!
easily best theme of the game.loving this for five years😭😭
Bruh…I started bawling my eyes out when the dragon roost melody kicked in.
I was eating chicken soup the first time I went to rito village, it tasted extra good that day.
one of beautiful piece i ever hear in my life.
I sometimes would just open Botw and teleport to rito village and just chill to the music
By far, this place had one of the best views in the whole game
This game changed my life. I became a Zelda fan, played all 3Ds and know im happy everytime im playin Zelda game and listening to this amazing Zelda music... ❤️
Sitting outside on a silent night with this playing calmly in the background. I am at peace.
Man, i can't believe it's been 6 fucking years. More than half a decade, I was in seventh grade when this game came out, now in Uni. Crazy shit
Listen to this at 2x speed, it’s dragon roost island 🤯
Right after I had defeated Vah Medoh, it was turning night and I was about to leave the village, but I basically got hypnotised by the music and stopped on a balcony just listening to the music and watching the moon rise and move through the sky.
It’s a very majestic village
I always thought that people were cringe when they say that they cried by the nostalgia just by listening to a simple song, but know I can understand what, they mean...those endless hours spent behind Wind Waker were coming back with this lovely soundtrack :')
this reminds me of a Ghibli soundtrack...
yeah it is like at 0:48 the first 2 or 3 notes are the same as in the Kiki's Delivery Service - Umi no Mieru Machi at around 15 seconds, then its like the main theme in Castle in the Sky
That's right! I knew I had heard it somewhere.
@@JacobNeeser pretty much a subtle shout out
Yeah sounds a lot like One Summer Day!
I believe there is twilight princess music in this and then is goes straight into dragon roost island
AdmiralBacon It feels a bit like Twilight Princess. But it is an original theme
No it is the Dragon Roost theme slowed down. Dragon Roost is original but this is hardly. Still absolutely love it and actually prefer it to Dragon Roost theme.
Echocookie Really? I did not notice that.
The part right before the Dragon Roost Island part sounds very Twilight Princessy...its like a part of the staff roll....when I first heard it i was expecting the staff roll
Hes talking about the beginning.
masterpiece, i love this track!
Love this music, but is there a version with Kass? I absolutely adore the night version with Kass but I can't find it anywhere!
There used to be on here but I can’t find it now :(
