Your ability to transcend Tull's electronic sound of the time to your acoustic rendition with a proper explanation at the end is so amazing! Thank you Stewart!!
Thanks Stewart for another great video. Ever since I purchased the 40th Anniversary edition of A, I've grown an appreciation for the album. That was a wonderful version of Batteries Not Included. Thank you again.
One of several great but obscure songs dated to and belonging on specific Tull albums that were fantastic live. This was played at my first Tull concert but I had not yet purchased and known most of the "A" tunes. But this 1 most positively stood out on the first round of "A" bootlegs to surface in the late 1980s.
I always enjoyed this weird and highly energetic song a lot. Sounds quite starnge in an interesting way, and even more avantgarde just with acoustic guitar. I sometimes use the phrase "Batteries not included in this little boy" when I'm tired.
This acoustic version is freaking awesome. I've been turning the speakers up and playing along with it with the $2 going Sounds pretty awesome . And if you think about it as a little robot batteries dying and lying down and the alarms going as the song changes it's just , it's a whole different spin on the song. Probably one of the greatest ideas. Anybody ever did turning that song into an acoustic song its really fun.
Another selection exquisitely performed. A song that one wouldn't think could be played acoustically but you proved them wrong once again. Your post-song analysis makes perfect sense too.
That's anoter less-knownd Tull song (to say the least), and yet very interesting to hear. As always your comments about music and lyrics are the cherry on the top of the pie.
Thank you Stewart. Always a treat to witness your exceptional acoustic renditions. I remember being somewhat disappointed when 'A' was released, but it's the kind of album that over time slowly ingratiates it's way into one's soul and a further testament to Ian's remarkable versatility and ability to infuse, mould and adapt just about any style of music into a unique, cohesive and remarkable whole.
Wow! That is really beyond amazing. You took on quite the challenge with this one, and as always the result is superb. I really enjoy your discussions after the performance. Thanks for that extra effort.
That’s quite a trick you pulled off there - you breathed fresh life into a song I’ve never really cared for. I bought “A” when it first came out and saw the concert tour, so that’s about 44 years of not caring for this song. I actually prefer your acoustic version to the electronic original. Well done.
I really enjoyed this one. Unlike a lot of fans I actually really like A and its sort of general foreboding tones. You're a master of the frets to figure these things out! Making the trip down from Manchester to see you perform at the end of March and looking forward to it.
Your acoustic version of this is really fantastic. I wish Ian could hear it. Keep up the good work. You're an extremely talented person . And you really should be playing in a band, or playing solo, or something. Start playing some small venues, or if you can, open for someone, Until you build up your popularity beyond just the people that are hearing you. on here. And it's kind of funny that it ends up that he has no batteries for his new toy. It's close to reality. That is at least my reality.
A AAA performance as usual keep it up and make us all rediscover more hidden gems.Saw Tull at Albert Hall for A tour and it was amazing cheers.Blur ripped it off for Song 2 Ian should claim royalties.
One of only a few Tull albums I do not have on digital media - only a dusty piece of vinyl buried in one of several apple crates. Adding A to my streaming list - thanks Stewart for renewing my interest in yet another somewhat obscure IA/Tull work. Also, I never knew the child's voice was Ian's son :) Was that in the original liner notes?

Браво! Прекрасное переложение для одной акустической гитары!
Спасибо, за выступление, Стюарт!
Magnífico como siempre. Gracias!

I always come away with greater affinity for these songs and a better appreciation of the musicianship involved. Thanks again
I love it when you discuss the song after playing it. Big fan from the US! Cheers.

Stewart, thank you ✌🏼
What a great rendtion. Your short lecture is as interesting, if not more.

You are a fascinating musician Stewart, the way you dropped the Japanese pentatonic scale into the analysis was a treat..
Bella versione cover,bravo steward
I love "A". Great version!
Great work! 👏🏻👍🏻 I also prefer your version to the original! It does bring out Ian's genius in whatever he writes though. 👍🏻😊

Oh wow, thank you so much for making the trip down. I hope we all have a fun evening.

Thanks Stu - such an interesting song. Prog/new wave - check out Cardiacs.
Yeah Cardiacs, you’re right. Also, in a more synthy British way, Talk Talk….

Thanks for your insight. One of my least favorite on A. Your strictly acoustic version distills it to into more enjoyment for me.
thera are lots of Jethro Tull songs that are splendid and not so well known, like WHITE INNOCENCE...
This acoustic cover is better than the original song.
Sorry, but I don't like the most songs of the album A.
