      @@bubbamaster3116 Note the quotation marks, it's a direct quote of what she said in the clip. The poster after me said, "It's about time." She can't return to "hyper-sleep" or whatever they called it in the movie.
      Now, if you've watched the movie at all.... spoilers ahead...
      Because of the malfunction that ended up with that crisis they were facing in the clip, Jim was summarily awakened out of his hyper-sleep because of a computer error. The trip to their new colony planet was to take decades, I forget exactly how long. Jim was faced with crushing loneliness and though he resisted as long as he did, he figured out a way to boot her out of her hyper-sleep. Offering up a lie that it was just another malfunction. The robot bartender revealed the truth to her though and she realized Jim had doomed her to a life she hadn't planned on just so that Jim could save his sanity. She was furious and stopped talking to him. Later, a critically injured engineer was awakened and instructed them about what was really going on before he died.
      Now, imagine you're her, remembering how her life was irrevocably changed. How angry she was. Now there was a real chance that Jim would die in the course of saving the ship and thousands of people. She is an author and not as technically proficient as Jim is. If Jim dies, she faced the same outlook of being alone for real and forever. Doomed by the same fate Jim had faced, that forced him to boot her out of Hyper-sleep. She then understood clearly why Jim did what he did to her, and after he miraculously survived the ordeal, she forgave him.
      Personally, I like being alone but for some people, it'd be a death sentence preceded by madness. On another note, she was speaking out of desperation, wishing that there must be some other way. A ploy to get him to stop what he was about to do. Understand?

      Yes, there are a number of holes in this movie's plot, that is why I didn't enjoy it much as it seemed impossible for such obvious issues to be overlooked. • @Martian74
      @Martian74 2 года назад +1

      @@spacebound1969 That is exactly the problem, the ship knew there was a problem and all it had to do was vent a hatch but it didn't do it automatically or have a robotic system that could do it. That is such a basic engineering system that is already in place on many things today. That is why I got so frustrated watching this movie, the ship had no backup systems in place, it either worked perfectly or, if there was a problem along the way, everybody dies. So stupid.

    Hollywood always gets spacesuit helmets wrong. You would never have lights inside the helmet, you could not see out because of the internal reflection.
    And in nuclear power, although this is not nuclear power, the reactor being “critical” is a completely normal and good thing, that means it is operating nominally. But hey it’s just movie so it does not have to be accurate.
