Boston can act like they lost someone yesterday but you lost him decades ago and didn’t deserve him to begin with. Seattle adored Bill and he adored us in return. He was a Seattle legend not because of his talent (though it was there), but because of his activism and community leadership. We (Seattle) lost a part of ourselves yesterday and now that he’s gone, Boston wants to grieve. Shameless.
I didn’t know he passed away after i woke up from my nap and i saw a notification on my phone saying that Bill Russell passed away. He won more titles and rings than Michael Jordan. RIP to the legend.
