Great stuff guys, the discussion about drinking was powerful
so the part where Mat talks about being introverted. i remember reading his book and meeting him at an event in Clarksville and i began to see that come out from him. but the fact he can be introverted makes fellow introverts like myself not feel so bad about coming off awkward when that social battery starts to run out. if he's reading this, my friend and his dept back in CA appreciated the coffee i sent out to them

I love when even and Mat do a podcast! A great podcast. Black rifle coffee is the best coffee and company hands down. When ever I go anywhere that has a black rifle shop I have to stop by. I really hope y’all bring one to Little Rock Arkansas!

You can send me one of those yetis you talked about. Not only my podcast listener, I go to your NRH black rifle location everyday. I'm in town. The morning crew knows me by name.
Talking about unlimited ammo on deployment reminded me of my experience. This POG was only issued 10 rounds each 12-hour guard-duty shift. My buddies and I would slip 9 rounds out of each mag before handing them in just to load a full 40 rounds the next day of guard duty.
Adirondacks are great. A BRCC coffee shop would make it better

Every single negative experience in my adult life .. alcohol has been involved in some way or the other. It culminated with a meth head neighbors trying to rob my father in laws van in my driveway.. which had expensive antiques in the back of it(he was an antique dealer) I heard them and got WAY too carried away in how I dealt with the situation. My father in law tried to pull me off and I accidentally elbowed him in the face giving him a bloody lip and nose. I barely remember what even happened do too alcoholics and rage.. but I do remember my father in law telling “do not make a statement!!” When the police were putting me in the car. Since nobody said anything and the guys scrambled out of their before the cops got there.. I got arrested for elder abuse 😢.. everything eventually worked out ok.. and my relationship with my in laws was actually made stronger from the incident.. the fact I hurt him made me feel so terrible I never drank again.. I did have 2 one day relapses since 2015.. but that it. What always snaps me back is think about my wonderful in laws(who got me out of jail) especially now that he’s had passed on due to a king battle with cancer .. I could never drink again.. it would be like kissing on his grave. My life is so much better without alcohol.. I can actually go out and have fun without it.. I didn’t think that was possible.. made me a better Dad, husband, son and brother to my whole family

12:40 ripping steel at 20 yds is where you start, but just because someone can take their time and stack rounds at 20 yds, as soon as the target moves or they have to hit a second target they fall apart. That’s why I love competitions like steel challenge and falling plate. As soon as you add a timer, so many shooter choke, just like they would in a real life shooting.
If you don’t try and actually chase your truth as an artist you are just giving in to the mass. They need someone to show them something they didn’t realize they wanted to see, rather than giving them what it is they wanted to see.
