*Nick Lavery's podcast on The Shawn Ryan show literally changed my life.* After watching DJ Shipley's story I thought there is NO WAY I would hear a story of more resilience and just absolute sheer will. But damn, Lavery's story brought tears to my eyes. It was the first time I remember pulling my car over and just stared out into space with a look on my face of "holy shit...what am I hearing right now..." The pure fkn will to not give up. Just a totally different breed of humans man. It's beyond motivational, its cathartic.
Dude very same thing. DJ shipleys shaped the rest of my day and then watching nicks was amazing. I got babied growing up because I was the only boy in my family. Now being 26 I realized it didn’t help me in being an adult. Most people watch these guys to hear cool War stories but I’m watching to see how real men act and how to act like a fckin adult.
All I can say humbly is thank you sir. I was in a combat zone in 91 but on a ship. You sir are a complete soldier. I am forever grateful to you and your comrades.

The most powerful thing that no one talks about when it comes to him. It’s him forgiving the guy who hurt him in the first place. He understood what he had to do and if anything he sympathize with him
Even though im on the other side, i can only say that this american man is an absolute paragon of unbreakable spirit. Hi from Russia, respect your vets!
Greetings from Germany, from a very peaceful person, who is still somehow fascinated by those stories. I often feel, that people can generally get along well with each other. It's politics, ideologies and people in power, that are dividing the common men. Without politicians (or at least politicians that end up creating international conflicts) there would be no war or large scale violence. I wish peace and safety to you, and everyone else in this world. However I realize, that this wish may perhaps never become reality.
Thank you so much for your service! I love our nation and I am so glad that there are warriors like you who love it too! Thank you to all the other service men and women!

I wouldn't care if you lost every limb.... If I was your wife or girlfriend I would never ever stop being so happy you came home.... Your strength and courage and thoughts of your brothers over yourself is the definition of HERO... Just a slight note after reading the comments on my post I wish people would not attack other people on their experience or feelings seriously why is there any argument at all.... I think they should be ashamed of themselves for going after each other when this was a beautiful video about somebody's personal experience and sacrifice for our country can we still be just Patriots?
@Eris🦇 Mana none of us really know how forgiving our creator is or isn't. I wouldn't bank too hard on asking for forgiveness to resolve you of your wrong doing. That's so you can sleep at night, not reserve a spot in the afterlife you don't deserve.
@@rendezvoushere7843 Who are you or Reanu Keeves to say/judge who deserves a spot or doesn't? Isn't one of the primary rules as a Christian, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged."?

Indeed, one hat most home-bodies forget. Especially politicians, both left and right. Everyone is so eager to complain, but no one with a brain would complain for long if they saw this. This man lost his leg, he lost some brothers, he almost died, and he got back up, forgave the man who did it, and got back into the fight. Proud to have met this legend of a man/warrior and lear from him. God bless Nick and his family.
God bless
I hear his story and ask myself one question, “What’s my f*cking excuse for giving up on anything?”
Thank you Nick Lavery. You truly are an inspiration. God bless you and your family.
Today is exact 10 years ago that happened. And what a legend thank you for your service!
Thank you
I feel so little listening to this hero while I bitch so often about things that mean nothing to whine about. Thank you to our American heroes.
Damn, dude this brought me to tears. You are a warrior. Thank you to men and woman like you that make these types of sacrifices for us to be free!
Highest honors to you brother! Definition of a soldier! Words can't describe the level of respect for your heart, courage and dedication to our country. ❤ Salute!!!!
🫡
Wow...Much RESPECT 🙏 BROTHER !!
I Know He May NOT Want it or Give the OK for It But Someone should make a movie on Him/His Story..He Is America and a Inspirational Person to some who have lost a limb or Etc !!🇺🇸
This man is incredible in so many ways. Our country needs more people like him.
He's the epitome of Merica, n never giving up
Your country has alot of people like him. You just don't see it until extraordinary circumstances come to fruition.
We have plenty of men like Nick. I pray for them every day and so should you. They make it easy for us to go to bed at night knowing we are safe.
This guy is a machine so much respect for you. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
Thank you
Thx for your Sacrifice Brother !!
Im facing an amputation in the very near future and it may possibly be a double amputation 10 years down the line this man has givene hope for the future thst you can be useful .and live an amazing life still even after losing a leg . I was so depressed until watching this. It hasn't held him back at all amazing
Focus and execute
I am also a an above the knee amputee, was with the 1st calvary. I know this is doubtful on personally reaching you, but I wanted to thank you for motivating me an give me hope. I have to admit, I've sat around with depression an wondered where my life will take me. Thank you for giving me back the mentality of never given up. You are a true inspiration to us amputees. Not just amputees, but to every living soul on this planet. I really needed this. Thank you again. Whhooorrrraahhhh
Boom. Glad to be of support. LFG.
Thanks brother, very cool that you actually seen my message. Appreciate it.
Hey, every day we're Alive is a good day! ❤
Dude I just wanna say thank you for your sacrifice from the bottom of my heart. Don't ever for one second think about giving up or that your any less of a man now. You're what every real man respects and people like myself are forever grateful for people like you!!!
@@alwaysstrapped814 man, thank you for that comment. It really is people like you that give me hope. Always a patriot brother.
Thanks you guys for putting these amazing stories out there. I hope our kids and fellow Americans can be encouraged to have such grit, tenacity and selflessness.
The mass accent is crazy... thanks for your service dudes a legend. Shoutout to the medic for just having to move on and treat everyone.. these dudes are amazing for what they do and how they deal with this.. Thank you for keeping us safe back home!
Thank you
*Nick Lavery's podcast on The Shawn Ryan show literally changed my life.*
After watching DJ Shipley's story I thought there is NO WAY I would hear a story of more resilience and just absolute sheer will.
But damn, Lavery's story brought tears to my eyes.
It was the first time I remember pulling my car over and just stared out into space with a look on my face of "holy shit...what am I hearing right now..."
The pure fkn will to not give up. Just a totally different breed of humans man. It's beyond motivational, its cathartic.
Same bro
yep those 2 are very moving
Dude very same thing. DJ shipleys shaped the rest of my day and then watching nicks was amazing. I got babied growing up because I was the only boy in my family. Now being 26 I realized it didn’t help me in being an adult. Most people watch these guys to hear cool War stories but I’m watching to see how real men act and how to act like a fckin adult.
@@IkfNorCalChamp Good on you brother - hold strong
Respect
All I can say humbly is thank you sir. I was in a combat zone in 91 but on a ship. You sir are a complete soldier. I am forever grateful to you and your comrades.
Thank you
You my friend are Superman. Thank you for being you. From my family and I, we appreciate you. Thank GOD for people like you.
Thank you
"Success is nothing more than the sum of small efforts performed daily. That's it." I love this quote from him. Thank you
It reminds me of a Bojack Horseman line “Every day it gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier but you have to do it every day. That’s the hard part”
the kind of simple minded quote i expect from someone that dedicates their life to violence in the name of the usa
You, Mr. Lavery are the pure definition of bravery, persistence, resilience, sacrifice, and heroism. Your selfless dedication to this great country can never be repaid. My family and I (including twin boys serving) can not begin to thank you for everything you've done and been through. We are very proud having a protector like you. Thank you Sir.
Thank you
All I can muster is thank you for your and your brother and sisters in arms for your service! I hope you all know just how many people out here have the most respect and love for you all!
I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Nick is the living embodiment of an American Badass! He inspired my son to get after it in SF. Thank you Nick & BRCC for your stories & service. Sincerely A Grateful American.
Unbelievable dedication
A hardened soldier with the heart of a warrior.
Zero quit
Hit with so many different rounds, and more.
He just will not stop.
Thank you for your dedication and heroic actions.
As an amputee myself this man is an inspirational person. To go through what he did and he still pushes forward to serve his country and help his fellow soldiers shows me I can still do things I would normally think would be impossible. Thank you Sir for making me realise as I watched this my life is far from over and I can still aim to acheieve my goals.......if you can do what you have, Surely if I can steal some of your mentality I can push through barriers I have yet to try. You are such an incredible human being all I can do is thank you for your service and sacrifices you have made, you are a true inspiration and I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
Thank you
I have tears on my face, not in sadness, but in pride for everything you do. You exemplify everything that is America. Thank you so sincerely for your service!
Thank you
@Lawless Could you do what he did?
@Lawless But you still couldn't do it regardless, I have a big guess that you couldn't do a job at all that was physically demanding.
Tears of pride lmao u wouldn't last snowflake
You are in you knees with his ball down your throat. Calm down
No better way of describing this man, a machine! True hero.
Thank you
@@NickMACHINELavery absolute total respect to you sir! Hope you enjoy the rest of your life. You deserve every inch of it whenever you get up to.

This man is a fucking badass. What a story
Edit: hadn’t even got through the story when initially commenting but by the end I’m just filled with so much pride that this guy is on our side and so fucking inspired by the fierce dedication. Our country as a whole owes y'all more then y'all are receiving. My heart goes out to all the families who had a loved one that paid the ultimate price for our country and freedom. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
My God. You badass. People give me credit for beating stage 4 cancer but you are a true inspiration and a hero to me. I don’t have words to express my admiration. I was booted from Great Lakes for scoliosis. You are the definition of what I consider a warrior and a man. Thanks for your service and sacrifice. I appreciate you and your views.
Never take for granted the battle you went through sir. You sir are also a true inspiration. I'm proud to be sharing this earth with you.

My grandpa is Captain Jack McDaniel of the Green Berets back in Vietnam. I'm a young Navy vet who plans to go into the Army later this year. This is extremely motivating and also very humbling. God Bless these warriors. I can only hope to become 1/10th of the man he is. I hope everyone who watches this can take some sort of motivation from it.
Thank you! Salute
An incredible story about an incredible soldier. He is America's best. God bless him and his brothers who saved his life.
These stories of heroism beyond the definition of the word always get me emotional. May you and your family continue to live a wonderful life together. Thank you for being an inspiration and mentor to anyone who sees, reads, listens to your sacrifices.
Thank you
The most powerful thing that no one talks about when it comes to him. It’s him forgiving the guy who hurt him in the first place. He understood what he had to do and if anything he sympathize with him
You are one among millions,a true warrior
You will always be remembered for what you did for the nation.God bless you bro.
thank you for your service my family appreciates everything you’ve done❤️
So fucking proud of this soldier. Thank you for your service.
Thank you
You are an incredible human being, I can’t even explain to you how inspiring you are without even meaning to be. Thank you for everything!
Thank you
Thank you so much for your service! I love our nation and I am so glad that there are warriors like you who love it too! Thank you to all the other service men and women!
Words cannot express how much Respect myself and many others have for you Nick Lavery. And the many other men that give their all above and beyond anything else...
Thank you
I was brought to tears listening to you tell your story. I wish every young man could hear your story. You are an inspiration to live a full life. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for your story. Thank you for your devotion. Thank you for your service.
Easy to say now
@@ReanuKeevesAus Nope not how it works 🙄. she can ask for forgiveness but tell yourself whatever
@@ReanuKeevesAus stay strong bro
@Eris🦇 Mana none of us really know how forgiving our creator is or isn't. I wouldn't bank too hard on asking for forgiveness to resolve you of your wrong doing. That's so you can sleep at night, not reserve a spot in the afterlife you don't deserve.
@@rendezvoushere7843 Who are you or Reanu Keeves to say/judge who deserves a spot or doesn't? Isn't one of the primary rules as a Christian, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged."?
What an inspirational Soldier
I serve as an infantry soldier for the Australian Defence Force and I must say that this video has changed me.
God Bless you
And God Bless the United States Of America
Thank you for your service
Speechless there are no words in the Oxford English dictionary to describe this individual’s character… The dude is a modern-day warrior-trained assassin at the pinnacle of his profession… What a patriot and a top quality man he truly is… It is heroics that only happens in movies and novels do you hear or read about it not in real life…. Thanks for your service!!!!!!
My nephew used to tell me about nick at Bragg 4 years ago said he was a legend. Thanks for your service Nick.🇺🇸🇺🇸💪

@@NickMACHINELavery my nephew got medically retired destroyed his back on a jump when his chute didn’t open. He was supposed to go to selection a few weeks after his accident. Having worked as Trauma Nurse for 25 years and dealt with many cases like Nick's. The most important tool you have to beat death, as in Nick's case is the "WILL TO SURVIVE" no matter what it takes. Thank you Sir for your duty, your commitment, courage and strength.

Man you inspire me brother.
A true American warrior and hero!
God bless all our troops.
This is a hell of a man. Monster big, heart of gold. Was more concerned for his teammates than himself. He’s a hero by any measure but to return to combat as a green beret says it all. Very inspiring
Holy shit what a man. This is the definition of a warrior.
Thank you
The willpower this man has is unbelievable. The way he emphasized with the man that took his leg is unheard of. To return back to combat to complete what he started is insane. Drive like that is unbelievable. Thank you.

God bless everyone who has fought, survived and ultimately paid the ultimate price fighting for their country.
Thank you
Incredible story. He really embodies the American spirit.
Thank you
Indeed, one hat most home-bodies forget. Especially politicians, both left and right. Everyone is so eager to complain, but no one with a brain would complain for long if they saw this. This man lost his leg, he lost some brothers, he almost died, and he got back up, forgave the man who did it, and got back into the fight. No complaints, his mindset was “have i served enough, have i done all i can?” Why doesnt he have a medal of fucking honor???
