Thanks for the thorough and thoughtful response to my question! I wasn’t trying to imply I thought tanks might become obsolete (I hoped they weren’t) so much as I just wanted to hear from someone in the know if the role of tanks was changing at all (and if so, how) or if it’s remained more or less the same for a while and will continue to do so. Looking forward to the hover tank video, will the convair model 49 make an appearance?
OMG! I forgot about this channel, thank you SO MUCH for answering my question! The FT7 sounds like an absolute BEAST for you to have so much confidence in it. Also I appreciate you've comments about the French and challenging the stereotypes about them. I have read some history books on the background France's rapid defeat by Germany in WWII and without getting too political and a major factor that is not understood is that with the revolutionary fervour in France at the time the French government and the capitalist class who were backing them were so scared of of a communist revolution in France that they all by sabotaged the defensive effort as they were more scared of the French workers than of a Germany victory.
Hello just found your channel... I figure ask a tanker! So my question is when resupplying a sherman and feeding new rounds through loaders hatch are they passed shell first or casing first? Thank you for what you do
If we could solve all the problems that come with super heavy vehicles do you think we would build a land battleship with multiple turret's of 16 in guns
Those problems with super heavy vehicles are pretty much baked into the engine. It would be more realistic to create giant land submersibles, as a land battleship would need to be built to chew up and tunnel through the ground as it stands already
What do you think of a tank with a ETC capable 130mm cannon with a Leclerc style autoloader, and caseless shell, complexity and money not being a factor, would such a tank be useful?
Here is one for you what are your thoughts on combining [ai] to an armored platform like a tank that has no crew on board Just give the thing its orders an sit back & watch it roam around
We'd probably see remote piloted tanks before that or ai assist. But theres just too many mechanical issues heavy armor faces to phase out human crews entirely. Think gun jams, feed issues, popped fuses. Torn track. Etc..
@@atankersview i know. I am still waiting on more Bolo content. And if ya respond to this my vote is on an audio reading of: Night of the Trolls from the Complete Bolo.
@@atankersview Speaking of, may I humbly suggest the latest and greatest in Bolo Vs. content? Concordiat of Man vs Imperium of Man. The campaign-style of the Covenant video, but a bit of a throwback to the starting Titan video rolled into one scenario. If that's a bit much, maybe shrink it to the most iconic of giant robots: Gundam(u). To reduce study time even further, the easiest I can think of would be Pacific Rim's Jaegers. A single movie to watch, maybe some wiki searching for that scenario. One movie. Singular. The last two may be bolostomps, but it's more for the fun of the video, not necessarily the challenge of the scenario.
Im proud to have served with you.
