Literature is one of my passions and The Iliad is one of my favorite books/poems to study. The Odyssey, The Eaneid and the portuguese epic poem "Os Lusíadas", all of these epics came from it. I can't wait to play this game, to see the wrath of Achilles and actually play as him. Good job guys!

From what I have seen, troy might have the best campaign mechanics ever in a total war. But we still need the battle improvements. Make the city of troy a bastion to take. Decorate the city, give it a 20 heavy units garrison. And make an end event where 10-30 stacks of greek armies invade troy.

I notice that the game lacks armour piercing missiles due to the time period. I noticed that you tried to use javelins to fulfill this role but they are thrown too far for realism (based on trailers I saw they were throwing 100meters) Normally crossbows or firearms fulfill this role but they did not exist right?... actually the Greeks had the Belly Bow which was supposed to be invented in 400bc. I know that’s still 700 years of difference but it’s not that much of a stretch. Also you could even have footbow units were people lied down and pulled their bows like a crossbow but without a trigger. Anyways just some ideas for armour piercing missiles for future dlc.
I really love the Ui and the sort of vase drawing going on the campaign map. Im a huge fan of incorporating and trying to capture a period of history or myth like this. Im also happy to see that the faction variation, since Warhammer days have been more common in the other Total War games of historic or Saga. The different lords on this side all looks interesting. Besides Oddyseus my next favourite character has to be Hector. So probably play him first on the side of Troy. Aeneas also looks very interesting with his gods/talk to old heroes mechanic. I really enjoy Greek mythology so thats a bonus. Oh and pls add Hades as a god at some point, I know his worship was not as spread out or large as many of the others but while it existed I think it could be interesting anyway since hes the lord of the earth, underworld and things like copper, and gold could be tied to him (also in regards to the idea of putting coins on dead people to pay to cross styx) and of course something about buffs or mechanics tied to death in battles and such. Maybe Hephaestus is meant to take that part when he arrives but hes the god of blacksmiths and there could be a big difference if you say introduce a blacksmithing mechanic to the game or tie it to experience or something. :)
the art does a poor job representing the period P. S. really it doesn't represent any actual historical art style at all; the closest there is to what they've done here is Disney's Hercules cartoon which is far from authentic Greek aesthetic of any period

You are correct of course. Its same thing when games make buildings in this period and they are only super white or brown with no colour, historically there was lots of colour in ancient greece, but when I talk about greece people always see that white marble non coloured romanticised version of it before them.

I would have loved if generic heroes aside legendary ones were in several factions pool, gathering between factions with traits gained with each fights and factions like in 3K. Anyway, the mechanics all looks solids
it work that way, you are able to reclute other heroes (they are generated randomly) each one have a "mood" that influence their gameplay and with each fight they can get buff, like more morale while besieging, more movemente on the campaing map, more damage ecc... but if you have multiple army and generals they upkeep cost of your units is increased

Honestly, I kinda wish she was a legendary campaign agent that Paris had to actually manage a relationship with in order for her to love him. It would have been more interesting and represent her more as a actual character if the player had to struggle between keeping her happy for bonuses to cities vs keeping Paris happy for bonuses to armies.

So my fav Total war is rome 2. When i Watch This game i get This feeling that this game will completley overwhelm my Skills. So is it much more difficult than Rome? My next question is about the fight animations. In Rome there were all this cool 1v1 fights. It is Always fun watching those soldiers cutting off Arms and heads. Do we get those animations too?
It looks like it takes a lot of inspiration from 3 kingdoms and thrones of Britannia. There will be new things, much more diplomatic focus. There will always be new things to learn, start a less complicated campaign (I’m assuming Achilles will be pretty straight forward) and roll from there.

The music is nice. The graphics are nice. The UI looks nice. The map campaign mechanics look nice. What's going to sell the game though is the battles, and so far the battles don't look nice.
Ideas for other warlord(DLC material): -Ajax -a friendship mecanic -Diomedes:-eyes of the gods-he can hurt other warlord -the amazon queen And tbh an Aenid DLC would be worthy of the gods
Ajax and diomedes are already confirmed as winter dlc. Judjing by the roadmap, its unlikely they will make an Aeneid dlc, even though I wanted one too. Earliest arrival would be January 2021
Kindly buff up trojan heroes, they are weak when compared to their dannaan counterpart heroes. I would prefer if hector got a defensive bonus buff in which the city where he is garrisioned he can unlock a unique upgrade to futher strengthen the walls and towers (like 15% more hitpoints and can survive disasters better).

I want to remind you that in the very first pages of Iliad, first book, the rage of Achilles against Agamennon start because they are quarreling about their "spoils of war", Chryseis and Briseid. Just read the very first pages, of a well translated edition possibly, and you will see a concept of woman that would put Homer and is epic poem under severe criticism if he was living and writing in these days (and if he existed as a single real author).

Yeah, there is a render image of Achilles in a more appropriate dendra panoply and horned helmet. I hoped it was a redesign after the atrocity from the trailer but they went ahead with a weird one. See for yourself. He actually wears another armor in a trailer from month ago so maybe there is some appearance alteration in-game, like in medieval 2.
Voices are overlapping at certain moments. It was a bit annoying, but it didn't cause me a concussion, CA. You don't need to be so harsh with yourself.
I love the campaign mechanics for the heroes but I can't stand that heroes are gigantic ubermenschs in battles. Can't we have a sort of historical mode like in 3K were the heroes are maybe a little bit stronger but not hulks?

I love the campaign mechanics for the heroes but I can't stand that heroes are gigantic ubermenschs in battles. Can't we have a sort of historical mode like in 3K were the heroes are maybe a little bit stronger but not hulks?

And epic is a shitty platform, i will not support this decision. If the game is good, i will get it on steam after an year.
