I would disagree and say Ajax's paragon units are better, cuz they are boosted like hell, and can take down 3-4 units with ease, and Ajax has a better Roster, with his bowmen and strong frontline units, makes him super smart, Diomedes is quite fun but can be a chore sometimes
It depends on your playstyle, Ajax's Spears & Bow army is classic (like Hector, or WH2 high elves), while Diomedes's swift swordsmen & skirmishers army is more mobile and hit-and-run.
@@italianspartacus Ajax’s paragon units are actual retinue units like for instance one of them is a two handed spear men and that is led by the hero that is shown in the menu for challenging the different paragon for Ajax and since they basically have a captain they have a passive aura ability like with the spear men I was talking about has speed and anyone who is in that aura has 25% speed.
Diomedes was an absolute joy to play. Just starting Ajax now. Some of his mechanics sound like the high elves in Warhammer, i.e. his ability to improve relations between other factions.
I’ve been playing Diomedes for a bit now, about 100 turns in, I really enjoy him thus far. Being able to boost my diplomacy when surrounded by Agamemnon and Menelaus is a huuuuuge benefit to my campaign, since I’m delaying going into the Trojan War until I’m solid in Greece.
While playing an Agamemnon campaign I got shafted by Diomedes. I was using him to weaken enemies while dealing with a more urgent matter. Then I noticed that he somehow took 7 cities and prevented my expansion. I couldn’t declare war because everyone was in an alliance. It basically ruined my campaign
So, my favorite character from the Trojan War is Laocoon. I loved reading through his passages in the Aeneid. Does anyone know if he is in the game? If so, it's a day one purchase for me.
Don't fight any of the Argives. Conquer Corynth and then the Ionians. Then take all of Crete. Use your dominance to Confederate with Mycenae. Conquer everything Mycenae might go after as long as it doesn't hurt your standing with your tribe (Achaeans). The reason you want high diplomacy with your tribe is late game you need each faction to either Confederate or stand against various enemies otherwise you'll get 4 x full stacks of Thracians in your borders and Sarpedon will capture a lot of the best islands late game.
Diomedes has been my best Troy experience so long
Same here. I like that part of the map. Troy seems like its far from the real fun in greece. I get bored of Achilles
11:54 Night Runners? YES-YES!!!

Great points my dude :) I think I just also enjoy Diomedes a bit more in general, so I'm somewhat biased hahaha

Oh hah, had the same problem, the moment you take Mycenae = relentless war from all sides
YOU HAVE CAPTAIN DIOMEDES.

I almost never call my allies to wars with territories I want, even on legendary, because the allied AI gobbles up all the territory I want.
This destroyed my campaign, Diomedes took troy tf my Magnum opus!
Had to roll back to 114 turn from 121 God
I'm really looking forward to Troy Mythos! It's like first time from release one year back xD
exactly what I was looking for, thank you
Happy to help brother!
I only picked Ajax due to his look. Beef Caaaake.

Looks good
Where is he? Perhaps he is too bawld and foolish for me to see.
i wasted 20-30 turn provoking menelaus to start a war with me so i won't fight him and ajax, by the way menelaus brother sided with me in the war.

Not enough factions to play is definitely one of my main reasons i don't play that game. Then the ones they add cost money....
Now is good they added second dlc and you can buy with at least 50% discount the ultimate edition
