Official correction , stock weights - not sure how I got that all messed up in my notes.
Exact weights on scale
B5 cps 1 lb 4.4 oz
Magpul prs lite 1 lb 2.8 oz
Magpul prs gen 3. 1 lb. 11.7 oz
I like the prs lite and the moe pr bc I can put my thumb through the bag rider part and pull back onto my shoulder
The B5 with appropriate size cheek piece on an A5 buffer sounds like a good combo. Mostly for alphabetically aesthetic reasons
I love the PRS Gen3 on my 24” 6mm ARC. I wish I could put one on my 6mm ARC bolt gun. The adjustability in all three axis is a step above my xrs chassis.
I'm holding out for the Magpul DT-PR for my 6ARC build
Should be a great light weight option for sure.
I agree. If you can afford it and the weight is secondary, the PRS Gen III is great. I have it on my AR-10 (Windham Weaponry R16SFST-308.) Putting on a rifle tube and the Gen III got rid of the T (telescoping, like a carbine stock) did change something that I had to fix. The R16 has a mid-length non-adjustable gas block.
The buffer weight in the rifle tube turned out to be too light and I had overgassing symptoms. So, I mixed and matched from a few different buffers I had and got to 6.1 ounces, which works fine for the 165 to 168 grain rounds I use in that gun.
My favorite is the PRS Gen 2 (the AR-15 specific model) The cheek piece is closer due to the shorter charging handle. I was lucky enough to find one online at a small shop in the color I wanted even after it was out of production.
Nice
Luth AR has some interesting ones but I’ve never tried them. Great info as always
Thanks for watching.
On the B5, I have one with the medium length versions. I am 6'4" so my LOP is long. I had an issue with where my cheek landed on the medium version. Did some digging on the internet and found that the Medium and the LONG are the SAME unit, you just have to undo 2 screws and flip the cheek riser to turn it from medium to long or long to medium. I also have the PRS v3 and the PRS Lite. Weight being no issue, the PRS v3 is the "best" in my opinion. The Luth-AR isn't bad either(super light).
I have same issue with cheek pad on medium and small. I like the length of the large. And b5 does make a piece that goes over the cheek pad, makes it longer but if you have high cheek bones like myself, it’s to much on 1.5” mounts.
I run that prs lite stock on a heatseeker chassis with the RAR 6.5 grendel and I love it.
How’s that chassis system? Looking at getting one for a bighorn origin. That’s why I’m watching this trying to figure out what stock I want to go with. Think I’m gunna try the magpul prs first.
I like it, the reason I went with it was because I wanted a chassis style platform for my RAR that I can still use the AR style mags. It's solid though and nice finish.
PRS G3 for me, heavy but very nice on my 224 Valk
Luth AR-MBA1. Give it a go Wade.
I think MDT has one too.
IMI adjustable sniper stock. Has all the features of the magpul minus the angled bag rider
I’ll check it out.
I'm curious about the magpul dt-pr stock. It's not out yet but it looks like a nice lightweight collapsing stock with the features of the prs model. The moe pr is out, but without the dt technology it kinda rattles.
Have several, yes rattle bois.
They are as ugly as sin but I love my medium length comb B5 best overall. I've never been pleased with the Magpul PRS stocks and that helped pushed me towards the B5 in the end. I think the LMT precision stock might be even better.
Gonna have to check out that lmt.
Hey Wade, off topic but how do I reach out to you about hunting yotes in corn fields? I live in Troy, TX and I'm surrounded by corn fields and I can hear 100s of yotes around hear but having trouble calling them in. Any help would be appreciated man.
Email through the website.
I've had all of these stocks. I was not a fan of the B5. I had one that came with my Sgt of Arms 6ARC, swapped it for a PRS gen3 as soon as I could. Plus, if you're running the world's greatest bipod, you should get the matching stock as well...😂😂😂!
Word!
@txpredatorhunting I literally say that all the time! Happy to see there's other ghetto rednecks out there!
Subrevtech has changed the bag game
Checking them out
Have you tried a Luth AR Stock
I have a while back. Wasn’t much of a fan.
I've shot them a few times, they fit pretty loose and moved alot. Wasn't a fan of them.
👎 and ugly
I’m not certain Wade understands how pounds and ounces work. 😮
I don’t edit the vids. 😮
Yes. I see now. It was the sleight of hand editing that led me to an inaccurate conclusion.
Or assuming we are talking about weight on gen 3, 1.75 pounds , or the proper way I could have said it is 1 pound 12 ounces .
