I'm new to Gundam, just completed the HG Aerial and really enjoyed the build! I've ordered a pour type marker and Delpi water slide kit for this one as well!
This is a Gundam design that I started off not liking, and even though it’s still not an all-time favorite(I think I prefer Barbatos to this for a modern Gundam design), I think it looks great. The design aspects from both the Unicorn, Legillis, Barbatos, and the G-Self look phenomenal on this Gundam! I also appreciate when a main Gundam is way different compared to what we see with other Gundams(examples being the blue Beam Sabers and effect parts, the funnel shield, etc). Very unique, and I think it’s cool!
Seeing that Shield in action in the first episode gave me a lot of forerunner vibes from halo 4 and 5, such a cool and creative weapon for a mech to have
This was my first gunpla. Spendt 5ish hours having a blast last week building it. And I might be hooked on this. So will buy another set come march. I'm thinking about the rg sazabi or the hg Lfrith next.
I have this kit since last Saturday and I enjoyed this design. At first, I thought that this line of Aerial will just reuse some joints of older gunpla, but I was wrong. This kit is amazing and is like Aerial just jumped out of the anime. The only complaint about her is the stickers for the GUND-FORMAT (correct me if I'm wrong) on the head, thighs, the shoulder, and the backpack when they should've just done it in the exact same matter as the chest. Other than that, she is a fantastic kit and it was fun to build and it still blows my mind. I keep messing around with it and it's just mid-perfection. Still waiting for the Aerial Rebuild's price to lower a bit.
I used a faber-castel XL felt black pen on mine and the detail came out silly good. it would have been nice to see water transfers too, yeah. the FCXS pen gave me a lot of control over eg. deep blacks and panels on the blue/yellow GUND-bits incl. underneath and keeping solid black outlines around all the yellow.

Sorry for the short essay, but hearing "rubris" just makes my brain itchy.
Finally got mine put together last night. Loved the build. Only thing that's irking me is the chest. Swear I cleaned everything properly, but segments of it feel like they didn't quite fit together properly. Mainly the mid chest where the white abdomen piece meets the yellow inner chest piece. The yellow looks a bit sunk in when the blue segments set in. Weird, but still a damn good and fun build.

For an HG this is outstanding. I think I prefer this to what I've seen of the 1/100 so far. I definitely prefer the holographic stickers for the powered up effect.
the design of Aerial is something I didn't think I'd like as I'm someone who prefers a design more like the Graze over say, Gundam Exia. However, after actually watching the show, which I think is consistently excellent, I LOVE the Aerial. The design has great notes from Exia, RX-78-2, and even some Barbatos flavoring. What I love most is that the Aerial in the show actually feels like a piece of heavy machinery with weight and impact, yet a lot of grace. Even the whole AI-assisted layering system with the GUND interaction between the MS system and the spacenoid physiology is so reminiscent of the Alaya-Vinjana system. It's like the perfect half way point between IBO and MSG imo
I love how the Episode 0 of the New Gundam was too serious and about war and alot of violence. While Episode 1 was a fantasy HS thing with a TOUCH of Yuri. Ngl love the anime and the gunpla models.
Agree except the high school setting is very clearly the space corpo groups place for raising new members and employees. The happy school life setting feels way too happy, like it'll be shattered any moment now
@@Samantha_yyz You are not so far off with how the happy school setting getting shattered in any moment if you read the short story in their official website from Gundam Aerial’s point of view.
@@bluelight8025 I'll have to read that, I've not seen it when I was in the official site for the show just the other day. Must have missed that update!!!!
When he said there was a problem with the legs I got really worried. Then he said they were just a bit limited in the thigh rotation and I was like “so there’s basically no problem at all” I’m fine with limited joints on model kits as long as they stay together well
Yeah, I kinda notice how Mecha expects s a model kit have a human like articulation when i fact a giant robot would have as much movement as a model kit like this.
@@johngapud9934 I'll be honest, my biggest issue is that my Aerial is completely destroyed in terms of thigh and ab articulation by Chuchu's Demi Trainer. I'm not gonna cry too much, but the Lfrith also being better in that department does sting. I guess thats the reality of having such a gorgeously layered design though, things are going to clash. I'm sure it wont be a problem when i put her on a stand with the bits
I LOVE this design. Unfortunately I didn't think to pre-order (never needed to for a Gundam kit before) and they sold out everywhere very quickly they hit NZ.
I just love how the shield incorporates into the main unit and the sharp curves it has instead of the block style were used too XD
SAME!!
I greatly prefer curves and angles over blocky designs.
Ariel I think it's my favorite MS ever
Victory gundams are curvy. Literally every zeon's MS are curvy. Where have you been
My problem with Aerial is that the chest and waist are too angular compared to the rest of it's body. I think Lfrith looked perfect.

I'm very excited to get mine, and I LOVE the nails!!!
Awesome this line is!!
It's the MS that brought Suletta Mercury to school, then she saved a person drifting in space who doesn't want to be rescued!
the design of Aerial is something I didn't think I'd like as I'm someone who prefers a design more like the Graze over say, Gundam Exia.
It's like the perfect half way point between IBO and MSG imo
this looks cool more like humanoid than other gundams this has a unique design for me
I was waiting for this to pop you know Aerial is just 🔥🔥🔥
I love how the Episode 0 of the New Gundam was too serious and about war and alot of violence.
@@Samantha_yyz does the anime have a manga yet or a lightnovel we can base it from?
@@Samantha_yyz Go read it. Lol 😂 I can see where the story will be going when I read it on their official website.
The anime is great so far I need to get both forms still but can’t wait to have them in my collection
When he said there was a problem with the legs I got really worried.
Then he said they were just a bit limited in the thigh rotation and I was like “so there’s basically no problem at all”
I’m fine with limited joints on model kits as long as they stay together well
Yeah, I kinda notice how Mecha expects s a model kit have a human like articulation when i fact a giant robot would have as much movement as a model kit like this.
At 0:10 the sword aerial is wielding comes from the 30 minutes mission kit option parts 3 set
