    Another tip from an experienced builder: if your not a gundam fan still watch some of the shows as making an emotional connection to the MS design can justify some of the more expensive kits.
    I will own a HG Neo Zeong one day

    • @snodog00
      @snodog00 2 года назад +8

      My first kits were Gundam Wing Epion and the mass produced suits from 08th MS Team, which were the two series that got me started into Gundam. They were my favorite kits. I have Heavyarms coming in a few days and I'm so excited.

    • @codyh0886
      @codyh0886 Год назад +9

      i hadn't watched any of the shows, but I had played several games with gundam, the emotional connection comes from the nostalgia of playing the game with my brothers growing up. Also having now watched IBO and TWFM I have a healthy attachment to some of those mobile suits.

    • @race_addict
      @race_addict Год назад +1

      Totally valid point! I generally build scale aircraft, but lately I'd been thinking about trying something new/different and Gunpla was an easy option. I watched a bit of SEED back like 20 or so years ago, but I've never been a Gundam aficionado. So I read up on what the latest series was, found The Witch From Mercury episodes online, watched all 13 over a weekend, and now I've GOT to get some of (er... all of) those suits!

    Here's my first Gunpla story: I was on vacation in Oahu this year and my brother took me to a Don Quijote store (Japanese importer). I knew I wanted a few things but didn't really know what to get so I just grabbed an Entry Grade Gunpla off the wall for 10 bucks and said "what the heck, sure" without really knowing if I'd have the means of building it. I'd caught bits and pieces of Gundam Wing when it was on Toonami and was enamored but never dove into the show or franchise. Flash forward a month later and I built it: my first Gunpla GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. I was amazed at the engineering that went into just designing this tiny beginner's kit and now I want to get into more. I watched the 0079 Trilogy and I think I'm hooked... Awesome video, I feel confident moving forward :)

    this might be one of the clearest guides to a possible new hobby/piece of entertainment i've ever seen. i've been interested in watching people make gundams for a while now and i always guessed that doing this myself would be not only a hassle and a waste of money but also would require me to do all kinds of things like painting which i honestly couldn't see myself ever doing, but the first 4 minutes alone completely quashed those worries and now i feel like i could try it. it's not like i need another hobby on top of the ones i already have but they all have in common that it's like putting together puzzle pieces. i don't know if and when i'll buy a set but this video has definitely convinced me to do so.

    Awesome guide!
    I got a Gundam Exia real grade for Christmas and was intimidated on opening the box considering it being my first Gunpla.
    A week later decided to give it a go and man, what a journey it was. During the process i was just mind blown by the level of detail and how the mechanics moved as it was coming together. Each piece completed was extremely satisfying and once it's all finished the payoff was more than id anticipated like it had sparked some sort of connection. i definitely understand the fan base behind this hobby now because i want more Gundams, a lot more.

    Coming back to comment again on this video as a much more experienced builder. Working on even more kits, I now have some master grade progress under my belt, with the current project I’m stoked for being the MG astray Kai. A kit I’ve heard from many is one of the best out there. The deeper in you go, the more you get out. You’ll make mistakes, lose or damage parts, do an atrocious job with certain paint jobs, weather kits in a way that makes them just look wrong. But you’ll also get results that are mind boggling, take pride in the best results you achieve, and fill your den with collections upon collections of projects that took hours, days, even weeks of time to finish.
    Very soon I’ll be getting my first perfect grade. I want to do actual kitbashing some day. I’ve even learned about painting techniques, and want to study things like color theory just to improve that much more. This stuff is art, and will open a whole new world to you if you try to be a little bold with it. This video was a perfect diving point for me to really get into things with, and I highly recommend it.

I spent 10 hours straight looking into Gundams and this was the first video that hooked me! So entertaining and helpful! Gundam wasn’t a hobby I was thinking of doing until now, plus since it also falls in the customizing territory it definitely will be! My father is already into Gunpla and I built the HGBF Try Burning in 2016 when I was 13 because my grandma bought me it before we left Hong Kong. Hopefully this passion isn’t short lived because DAMN I’m addicted and I didn’t even properly start yet! Regret not buying kits sooner especially in Hong Kong. Keep up the brilliant work! A tiny peg snapped off and sadly gluing wouldn't work with the plate , so now there's a tiny gap. My friend said that with beginners, it's okay to make mistakes and you will learn. Just ordered a 1/100 Master Grade Red Frame and it's 1/100 Flight Pack. I'm really excited to build again. My first Gunpla were made back when Gundam Wing/Endless Waltz and G Gundam were popular, so it's been a while. You just got a subscriber my guy!

    I remember my first time building the EVA-01 PG kit, it was an ABSOLUTE DISASTER: First you had to fit a TIGHT silicon "skin" (if I may call it so) around the skeleton of the EVA and only then build the armor around it, but due to how tight the silicon was some parts literally broke over time due to the pressure the silicon had put on them.
    It was my first BIG deception about the PG kits...
    Now I know some people might want to buy the kit because well it's Evangelion, but don't. The PG EVA isn't worth it: The pieces are weak and the silicon fitting part is not even challenging it's straight up unfun, and the color pallet and details isn't great.

      I’ve built the PG Eva as well, it was horrendous

      My first built was also a eva... Terrible expirience I would advice to start with a gundam because the shapes are easier and they are less flimsy
      Ps: I broke the longinus lance😬🤦

    Today, I bought my first Gunpla (the exact same that you showed the Zeta Gundam HG)
    And on the way home I wanted to learn more about it so I found your video and I loved it ! Your video was precised and really well explained. Even though I’m french I understood everything thanks to your explanation.
    Thanks for this vid and I hope I’ll love my Gunpla when I’ll start it !

    I've only started building Gunpla this year and I kinda jumped in at the deep end with the MG Barbatos. I was hooked immediately, working on building the kit for the rest of the day and taking about 12 hours to do it, also helps that I have a hobby store in walking distance that stocks most Gunpla. Since then I've only had 1 issue, twisting off a joint for my RG Sazabi and having a mini freak-out before super-gluing the arm back on. This has honestly been a hobby I've needed for a while, helping me focus on something when there's a lull throughout the day.

    Hello, just came back to this video that had mw started on gunpla. Although I've been a gundam fan since the 90s, I didn't know that this hobby was a "thing". I'm so happy that I came across this video just like so many others. Hope you will be back to making more videos in the future. Cheers!

    I've built around a dozen gunpla now but I just saw this video and decided to watch it, cuz why not. Great video mate and incredibly informative and at the same time interesting to watch. I love this hobby now more than ever, and I really hope more people get into it as well, as it's incredibly fun and rewarding. Cheers!
