Congratulations, Derek. I was checking out your numbers, and your channel frequently surpassed NASCAR truck racing for the number of viewers. More people watch you than a multi-million dollar production.
60 hour work week done. Bags packed and loaded in car for departure to Florida in morning for a week of vacation with the family. Cold snack and a new VGG video on a beautiful fall evening in the Midwest- what a great way to wrap up the week.
I’ve been so busy this week, I just got to see Roadworthy Rescues today, and now this! TGIF - Thanks Grip, I’m Fine. You don’t know how much we all look forward to kicking back on Fridays to VGG - thanks for all you do! ~ Chuck

Totally agree! Now I gotta have one. Funny, wasn't the Gremlin the more popular ofthose two amc hatchbacks? I like the Pacer better, that rounded tail end is slick! I always was a weirdo, I never cared what anybody else thought.😉👍👊
So glad the Mav won the burnout run. That guy is a testimony to what you inspire in all of your viewers. Thank you for all of your hard work and content.
I always knew Derek was a showman with his own distinctive style. I was not prepared for the kind of showman he has really become! He had the crowd when he stepped out of Charlotte and dejectedly said "....digicals...." But then he emceed the burn out competition with ease, like he has been doing this all his life. This was a great show!
Been watching VGG for a few years now and that burnout running down the wall waving your hand to pump up the crowd gave me goosebumps. Hands down the coolest burnout. What great energy you bring to this industry. You’ve become a staple in households all over the country and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for more. Fantastic job.
From building a Chevelle in his plain garage to being the MC at a burnout competition and being in commercials for o'reilly. Air high fives Derek! Also, the entire exhaust system on that truck was cherry red at the end. Gave me goosebumps 😜
What a blast! Derek, you gotta host again at an event like this if you can squeeze it in. Epic Burnout. That go pro on the ground got a couple sweet shots
Yep Friday night just got 100% better I get literally one night off a week and it just happens to be vgg upload nights and I'm perfectly OK with that being my highlight of the night lol other than my family time of course thanks for the free entertainment fella!
Derrick please. Please always have your fire suit on during any burn out. Especially since Charlotte is pretty much wide open and no body to sheikd you. Things can go bad real quickly when u least expect it. Just want u to be safe bud.
I disagree! The exposure from the MT series is great (and the extra income too, I presume), but those rescue episodes are so heavily edited that there's no sense of the time and effort they required -- and the physical and mental toll on Derek and friends is plain to see. I really don't like that series. His self-produced RUclips work is FAR better in my opinion.
Hey Derek..been watching your channel since the beginning and thrilled for you and your family that it's a successful as it is. You deserve it and keep it up. TV show is pretty awesome too by the way!
Great episode, Derek. That UFO Pinto was badass, but you really stole the show with that late burnout! Your headers were bright orange as you were exiting the burnout box. Great run.
Give "THE MAN" that trophy....what a burn-out by Derrick in Charlotte! Holy cow, simply perfect; loved it! Thanks for sharing Derrick. All the best and stay safe!
Agreed having hosted a few events professionally and for family I can say this guy is made for it. Just a naturally funny guy who likes to make people have a good time. His YT success makes sense ..... well done Derek (sp?) you're a legend. 😊

That was absolutely awesome! Actually took the viewers to the races. Thank you thank you thank you. That was absolutely wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
I love how Derek went from fixing up old sleds in his garage in Minnesota to obliterating tires with Freiburger and Dulcich, all in the span of about a year.
Monday 3:45 pm. Derek, when my father and I worked on cars when I was a kid in the 60's, his terminology was like yours with sparkolalters and mixolaters so when I hear your descriptions, it always takes me back. Plus we worked on LOTS of old Cadillacs. Love your show. Michael Giordano
Whats interesting here is that VGG is now delivering the cabibre of content Hot Rod/Motor Trend did before they put it behind a paywall. Obviously, there is a demand for this on YT! Between this, DD Speed Shop, Stay Tuned -- is anyone paying MT anymore?
@zeropoint546 I hope not, but knowing how shady frieburger is I wouldn't be surprised. Him and Finnegan are both lying scumbags and traitors to their true fans.
Also junkerup,Chris birdsong he was the guy in the ratty 71 charger. He is incredibly skilled in body work and is the guy that rebuilt the body on general mayhem. And he owns a general lee and about 20 other 68,69,70 chargers.

Call me a stick in the mud but I just don't get the burn out pit thing. So you make a car that can burn the tires off (not that hard) and then take it out there and spin donuts around with it. How much talent does it take to do that? Drag racing is great, takes driving skill and mechanical skill to build a car that will go fast in the 1/4 mile. If you could strap a monkey in the seat of a burn out car and show him where the go fast pedal is, I'm sure he would figure out the rest. Just not my cup of tea.
To be fair burning out the tires while spinning around in a Dodge Viper while maintaining control and not smacking up against a wall does sound like it would take some skill.
