I owned my 2002 C5 for 21 yrs & 1 month & felt like doing what you did after dealing with typical C5 DIC’s, part replacements, just aggravating chasing down normal everyday problems. Said enough was enough & got tired of not trusting it after throwing $$$ at it. Walked into my local used car dealer & they bought it. I was sad but also relieved that I’d cut my losses. I have owned 21 corvettes over the past 47 years. I have actually left them alone mechanically primarily because of their complexity. I generally buy a new one every 2-3 years. I can't remember if I have kept one long enough to go out of warranty. The cars I do play auto mechanic on are my five classic cars. Way easier to work on. Regarding pulling an engine out from the bottom, that is the reverse of how they are assembled at the factory in Kentucky.
