@@jadonharper1493 If you download mp3 files from the files, the metadata has composer credits on them. They also show internal names on them, seemingly what the composers themselves called the pieces, which is different to the filenames themselves. The tracks at 6:45 - 9:46 are titled "Shadopan_b_hero 1-2", but their internal name is "Positive Chi". And the tracks at 4:50 - 6:45 are titled "Shadopan_a_walk", but the internal name is "Cardonian Wood Walk". A lot of tracks in MoP have filenames that are like "Krasarang Wilds 1", but the internal name is "Kunlai", seemingly many pieces were composed for the areas, only then to be placed in other ones, which is quite interesting. Totally made this comment way too long after the initial answer, oops. EDIT: the other track at 4:50 - 6:45 by Russell is actually called "WoW Cardon 4 Strings", which probably means Sam Cardon actually composed it, or helped with it, even though he isn't credited, since he was the one who actually composed the main theme of the expansion which is that specific melody at 6:28, but Russell made his own track with it.
2:05 Started playing when I made it into the Townlong Steppes. In pursuit on the trail of the Sha of Hatred, an army of Yaungol and Mantids standing between it and I. Still one of my favorite moments in WoW to this day. The setpiece, the music, the story, it all sealed the adventure together.
That and then they reprised that theme at the end of the Legendary quest when you're with Wrathion as he imbues your cape, reminding you of all you've come through to get to that point.
From the very start of the track to 1:07 is epic. Listening to that bit, you feel as if you've gone back in time to the days of ancient China and the golden age of the Han Dynasty. Ancient elegance embodied in song.
2:05 You! You have allowed the Sha to reawaken all these years. If you truly wish to undo what your kind have wrought upon our land you must first prove yourselves here in our school. First, you will face our initiates... Where one falls, another will rise to take its place. You have much to learn if you wish to defend your people from the Sha initiate. Stand aside for your fellow students! You have bested our most juniors of students. Now you will face two of my most senior. Flying Snow! Fragrant Lotus! Step forward! You have bested my prized students. Perhaps you can be of use to us after all... As my master once said, "You cannot truly know someone until you fight them." Come forward, so I that we may be properly introduced.
I remember when this was a good game. This brings back some memories. I quit for good a year and a half ago and added Blizzard to my permanent boycott list over 6 months ago, so I won't be playing it again, but it was nice to hear some music from the good times I had.
@@GH1TRV Yeah that's true...I could also run my own private server (I actually still have all the files necessary for a BC-era private server, using Mangos - the software, not the fruit). I actually briefly ran one during classic and BC just to explore places I hadn't been able to ever get to on live.
I strongly disagree. Soule's pieces were easily the musically weakest parts of this expansion. All of the most immersive and impactful music in this expansion was composed by Russel Brower, Sam Cardon (who wrote the freaking epic piece at 2:05), Neal Acree, and Edo Guidotti. I know this because I have the direct audio rips from the game, which included the ID3 data for who composed what. I think this expansion is a prime example of why I feel Soule is overrated.
Ozan Young Note the word atmospheric. Not epic. I don’t think I would classify most of Skyrim’s, Oblivion’s, or Morrowind’s music as epic and in general I think the tracks that are epic are mostly average compared to other epic music from other composers. Take for example the song Serpent’s Heart which was composed totally by Soule. It’s one of my favorites from the expansion and sounds distinctly like Jeremy Souls other work notable Oblivion. Soule may indeed be overrated but that may just be because of your taste in music. By the way thanks for the info, as I have been very curious for a while as to who composed 2:05 and I was pretty sure it wasn’t Soule.
I remember reading about the Shado-Pan on Wowwiki back in like 2008. I was -SO- fucking excited for their inclusion in Mists of Pandaria and they fucking delivered.
My take on the Shado-Pan oath: "We are the watchers on the wall. We are the sword in the shadows. We are the shield that guards the lands of pandaren. We are the light that keeps the darkness at bay. We are the one and only line of defense. We are the followers of Xuen. We know no anger. We know no hatred. We control violence. We live and die for Pandaria, until the end of days."
This really was the theme of the expansion, I remember it kicking in while Wrathion was putting together my Legendary cloak, it was such a lovely expansion overall.
"This sounds an awful lot like Jeremy Soule's composing style. It reminds me of Skyrim." *checks credits* "Oh. I was right. He's in the credits for it."
Every Soundtrack is a Lore-orientated Tribut to a Faction or/and a Content inside the Game. There are Soundtracks to the Cultures living on Pandaria, as well as to the Way of the Monk-Class, - for Characters... ... everything has it's own Atmosphere, deserving a own Music for itself. I hope this helped you a little bit. ; 3 edit: Oh' ... and " Ost " is something that means " Soundtrack ", something that is a bit more known in the Anime- and Manga- Domain.
Loved this expansion so much. I was so sad it was over, it didn't get the life it deserved. Instead we got the shitty WoD expansion. Such a freaking let down.
For those interested!
0:00 - 4:50 was written by Sam Cardon
4:50 - 6:45 was written by Russell Brower
6:45 - 9:46 was written by Jeremy Soule
All I can say is that mr Cardon nailed it. ( 2:06 - 4:50 )
Team soule
How did you find this out?

2:05 is why this was a great expansion. My #2 favorite of the entire game behind Wrath.
3:25
The reason why I roll a monk. The reason why I fucking loved this expansion. The reason why there will never be a expansion as good as MoP.
+Blaze90i It's 5:42 for me.
+Blaze90i 2:07
Blaze90i I played a monk in MoP. It was ducking great
Hahahah what?!
You dumb? WotlK was way better and even Legion
Those sweeping horn counter melodies bring a tear to my eye to this day

this song makes me feel my life blessing- Hunters lover here
"Taran Zhu and the Shado-Pan are MINE. Come forward and die by my hand, as all who oppose me shall in the days to come!"
Marco M. Hatred will consume and conquere all
i came here knowing i would cry and feel bad because this time was so much better.....why
Yes it was a time that will never repeat, but if we stay there, grieving , we won't see or accept the brightness of the path ahead.
“You may not truly know someone, until you fight them, come. So we may be properly introduced!”
2:05 - love the choir that comes in about 25 seconds later :)
3:26 , honestly this is so beautiful. some of the best music ever made. best expansion!
Even in 2023 my absolut Favorite Fraktion ❤😊
2:05 past is amazing!

Epicly breathtaking 2:05 - 4:50 and 6:06 - 6:46
4:50 on gives me chills to listen to.
WE ARE THE WATCHURS ON THE WULL.
WE ARE THE SORD IN THA SHADOHS.
Euphoria52 I was hoping for "me love you long time" to appear somewhere in the expansion. Blizzard has failed me again.
Euphoria52 White Tiguh watch ova you.
Euphoria52 Game of Throne copyright.
They did an easter egg to GoT y
4:14 When that bass drops.. MMMMMMM
I feel like...warriors around the world..all kinds of warriors, united for one cause. Respect all the cultures :)
6:45 is the best music in MoP, the emotion in this piece

You always can find some pirate servers like PandaWoW

Mist of Pandaria.... RIP. *Sobs* On a lighter note: PANDAREN RULE!!! PANDAREN FOREVER!!!
MoP gets more hate than it deserves. I thought it was a good expansion.
+Skeptic no, you didnt THINK it was a good expansion, it f*cking WAS a good expansion
Andrew Roberts It was a whole lot better than WoD is now atleast...
Pandaren girls are the hottest.
I think Jeremy Soule is the single reason this is the most atmospheric expansion.

Fighting a Pandarian-race Champion while this music lasts.
So epic. :D
As expected of music where Jeremy Soule was involved.
Check on wikipedia to see that person's work
Total Annihilation, Skyrim etc
nice
I guess that's what happens when Arena.net doesn't retain talent - Blizz snatches it.
Jeremy Soule has done a lot of music for a lot of games. He did the soundtrack for Dawn of War, for instance.
5:43-6:43 epic!!! :)
Good old days
I love the shado-pan!
That feeling when you're questing alone, minding your own business, then out of nowhere a song like this comes 3:26. It's an epic feeling.
WoW's music and story are almost unparalleled in any field. You reflexively feel a sense of privilege after listening to this music...
2 things blizzard are master at is art and music, so beautiful
5:42 Epic!

My take on the Shado-Pan oath:

Came here just to Audio Hijack the epic part, and your video seems to have the highest quality sound. Thanks.

Favorite part.
5:45
MOP best expansion!!

Sai paçoqueiro
The Shado-Pan have defended Pandaria from the denizens beyond the wall for ten thousand years... It is particularily rare that they'd need help.
So damn epic
"This sounds an awful lot like Jeremy Soule's composing style. It reminds me of Skyrim."
*checks credits*
"Oh. I was right. He's in the credits for it."
Will Davis
I really want to know what part is his work.
I come from HP games
You must listen to it!!!
Hold on... At 03:00 it sounds like... That iconicc cowboy theme from the good, the bad and the ugly.
2:07 Shado-Pan : Watchers on the Wall

Seriously considering coming back to WoW to check out Pandaria and give it a couple PvP seasons.
epic soundtrack
Shado pan guarding the wall...the watchers on the wall. The sword in the shadows... Like noncorrupt Night's Watch. Blizzard's nod to game of thrones.

Not a personal attack on you, just letting you know that leaving it as "epic" would have been grammatically correct. ^.^ Have a good one!
Your avatar... how ironic.
