damunzta Let me ask you something: How would you feel if a power-hungry tyrant, for reasons serving only himself, dropped a devastating weapon on your city thus killing almost everyone in it and crystalizing the dead like obscene statues? How would you feel if, when trying to recover your apprentice's broken body, she shatters into purple arcane sands? How would you feel when you learned a good many of the enemy were DANCING IN THE STREETS OF ORGRIMMAR over the mass slaughter of your people? If ahything, by virtue of the fact that she DIDN'T choose to drown Orgrimmar and everybody in it when she could have, I would say Jaina is not a warmonger. Even during the betrayal by the Sunreavers and the Purge of Dalaran, she showed remarkable restraint; she could have ordered all the blood elves executed as traitors but instead opted to imprison them, and she only raised her hand against those who refused to surrender their weapons. Perfect, certainly not... but put yourself in her position, and you'll see that the Jaina you remember is still there... but she is simply hurt and angry. Very angry.
AquaticSoda Jaina might not have drowned Orgrimmar, but she wanted Varian to dismantle the Horde when he had the chance to do so. I get her angle, I do, but the implication of doing so would have been war with the other Horde races until they surrendered. How many would die in that fighting - on both sides? Sure she's hurt, sure her anger isn't unfounded, but she's got a wantin' for some bloodshed at this point. Either that or she's extremely shortsighted when advising Varian.
damunzta I think she felt cheated, I will agree to that much; who can blame her though if she's not going to be buddy-buddy with the Horde for a long time, though? They blew up Theramore and everyone in it, and effectively danced on the ashes. But at the same time, I don't think Jaina would be merciless or filled with bloodlust; that she walked away from the confrontation with Lor'themar speaks volumes to the fact that the "old" Jaina is still there. Were she a true warmonger, I think she would have ignored Taran Zhu's booming scorn. And if anything... I think Varian made the hard choice in not complying with her wishes; the one that had to be made. He knew the Horde would fight right down to the last man, woman and child; either that, or the fighting would reach a surrender, the Horde races would eventually tire of having human rule and customs forced upon them, and the whole cycle of hatred would begin again with the children and grandchildren of our characters, assuming they aren't around or able. If anything, he has cleverly placed the entirety of the responsibility in Vol'jin's hands; and considering the battered, shambled state the Horde is in right now, I think the Darkspear Warchief will VERY WISELY keep the Horde in line and comply, especially considering there is nothing stopping the Alliance from coming down on the Horde like a ten-ton hammer, halted only by order of the King of Stormwind. And considering how he moved with his body language in the underground throne room, I think Varian is more than willing to act on his proclamation should Vol'jin fail to keep the Horde in line.

I like how everyone is calling her a crazy bitch or something like that. When infact she is following the same path as Arthas did. Arthas was liked by many of the fans. Why do they dislike Jaina? Is it because she is a female character? Or because her story is developed in an MMO?
Because she's taking a much darker path than Arthas. Arthas had noble intentions but was ultimately corrupted by a greater evil, thus turning a champion of the Light into an unholy tyrant. Jaina, on the other hand, is the ruler of Dalaran, a place where, if you played during WotLK, you probably spent a lot of time. People grew close to Jaina, and when she went crazy with revenge after Theramore's destruction, many thought she should just get revenge against Garrosh, but she decided to develop a devoted hatred of the Horde, which is fairly obvious. Now, Jaina rules Dalaran with a purple glove draped over an iron fist.
"She's taking a much darker path than Arthas." I disagree. She simply hates the enemy forces with a passion. She doesn't kill her own people or burn their ships so they can't return home to their family and then blame the mercenaries and kill them.
She isn't 'crazy'. She's just a determined leader with severe PTSD whose philosophy of peace and understanding failed to save the people she loved. I don't think people hate her now because she's a woman--those same haters loved her before. They don't like it because in the course of a single book, she did a 360 from 'peace-lover' to 'kill those motherfuckers'. Some people don't like change, no matter how well-executed it may be.
