    MoP will always have a special place in my heart. I bought it after a truly horrible year during which I almost lost my oldest son at age 12. After 9 days in a coma and spending 6 months in various hospitals, he pulled through and came home again. I bought MoP for him, and this game have brought us closer again after so many ups and downs these past 5 years.The game itself but especially the music of this expansion have pulled him out of the dark place he ended up in after returning home. Realizing that you almost died but managed to pull through, fucks your mind up, especially this young!
    He is now 18, healthy, and the 3 of us are still enjoying WoW. We will forever be grateful for WoW, and their composers. Music helps us heal: I have witnessed and experienced this.
    So, thank you, WoW. And thank you to all the EU players, because without even realizing it you have kept us alive and sane. Much love to the community! LOKTAR O'GAR!!
    **Update May 1st 2020**:
    OMG, you guys!! I never ever got any notification about my post until today, and I'm overwhelmed and proud of all of your heartwarming reactions. Yes, we are all still fine, and hopefully you all as well. My son is now 21, and he and his 20-yo brother have been playing WoW again since early March after we all stopped playing at the end of Legion. And yes, they have characters on both sides. His health is well enough for any YA who seemingly only have to live on chips and soda, with the occasional cookie to balance that special diet.
    Thank you all for the love you have shown us, he was, and still is, touched by the love of our community, as are the rest of us. LOVE YOU ALL! BE & STAY HEALTHY!!!!

I was also inspired to learn martial arts and self defence, but even if i quit after a couple of months, i since have loved everything about chinese music/culture/landscapes and set one of my biggest goals in life: to travel to china to experience the less civilized and natural beauties, to interact with the people there and appreciate everything i can get in the limited time available. All that by communicating in chinese and so i've started learning the language some months ago. Will get there, i am sure. Thank you Mists of Pandaria.

      People had higher standards back then. After the burning garbage fires of WoD and BfA, it's easy to see why people would view MoP more positively in hindsight. Having said that, the actual gameplay of the game peaked in MoP. The ability pruning really kicked in after that.

    I will die on this opinion. Mop and Wod was when Blizzard was at a creative peak with the warcraft franchise. Wod may cause arguments due to the lack of content but the content that was there was excellent. Mop on the other hand had a lot of content and it was all excellent. The zones, the dungeons, the raids hell even dailies were fun. The questing, damn that stuff still holds up. I level characters now exclusively in mop and never tire of it. I honestly get a little disappointed when hitting 50 and realize "Oh well now I gotta play the game". The monk is probably Blizzard's best designed class, the depth and the variety. They play like no other and their unpopularity is criminal. The Pandas, god I love those fat bastards. They are funny to look at, funny to listen to but when they want to be can be badasses. Taran Zhu is not very humorous but the dude tries to fight Garrosh alone, loses and continues to talk mad shit. Badass. Battlepets? What a creative and fun little idea. Novel, the concept that Blizzard just adds a side game with depth that you can simply choose to partake. Sure the expansion had it's flaws such as the at the time new and now old talent system. It had merit and was good in its' own ways but after playing through classic and having my memory refreshed it is clearly more fun to build with a tree.
    What is there really to dislike about MOP? Association with Kung Fu Panda? Well those movies are great. Fantastic even. Being vaguely associated with fantastic films is not a problem in my eyes.

    Guess it goes to show. Try something out yourself, form your own opinions about things. Don't just go along with what everybody else around you tells you.

    This is literally the theme of kung fu. The word means "reaching a goal through great effort". So literally anything can be "kung fu", if you truly work towards that goal. But in terms of martial arts, it requires years of both physical and spiritual training. This theme reflects just that, with calm themes for the spiritual training, and the faster themes for the physical combat. This song even plays when you do the training montage with the "Hidden Master" in the Valley of the Four Winds. Blizzard knew exactly what they were going for here. This is the perfect theme for the windwalker monk.

    MoP was and still is my favourite expansion pack. The starting zone area was fun and exciting, and the levelling to 90 was actually an incredibly enjoyable experience with beautiful zones, amazing music and lots of really fun quests and lore. I'm a huge fan of asian culture and I loved spending hours just questing on my own and listening to the music. As much as I love BC and WotLK, this one holds a really special place in my heart, something that got lost in WoD (and let's not even mention Cata).

    • @Midgert89
      @Midgert89 8 лет назад

      +Desa Iree MoP wasn't bad except for the awful faction lore intruding on the whole "explore a new continent" theme. That stuff should have been settled in an expansion before MoP.
      But, even with its artistic beauty MOP had some serious design issues, like:
      - Extremely underwhelming launch patch and 5.1, only WOD has ever done worse at launch.
      - Daily Quest bottleneck didnt break untill 5.2, and even then you still needed the dailys for some professions.
      - Non existant PVP balance
      - A very streamlined and unintereseting talent system
      - Scenarios used in place of dungeons

    • @desairee9894
      @desairee9894 8 лет назад

      Midgert89 I didn't say it was bad.
      You see, I think the lore is the best part of it. The beautiful, rich, interesting lore of the Pandaren and their home is what kept me so enticed. It's possible they could've done that beforehand, but I don't mind that they didn't. I hadn't had that much fun questing in years. They sort of did that whole new land kind of thing before, but they didn't put as heavy emphasis on it.
      I feel like this was a bit different than all the other times; it wasn't ever really pointed out by anyone significant in past expansions that the two factions are basically being a bunch of babies and fighting over nothing. Valid reason for war in the past? Maybe. But if you're so bloodthirsty you can't even call off a war that damages your land, your people, your psyche, and then bring it to some other place where it's not only unwanted, it has dire consequences? Issues. Surely this would've been a wake-up call for Varian, but nope, guess Garrosh speaks for every man and woman in the Horde.
      All the stuff you mentioned I totally agree with, especially the talents - they've been trashy since Cataclysm and I doubt they're going to make 'em right again. It's honestly the change that upset me the most.

    • @Midgert89
      @Midgert89 8 лет назад

      Desa Iree Pandarias lore was great, the faction war was lame and felt like an obligatory sideshow that intruded on Pandaria.
      I certainly didn't like the pacifist ideas it forced upon the factions. Thats not very warcrafty imo.

    • @desairee9894
      @desairee9894 8 лет назад

      Midgert89 I felt like we'd been building up for something like that since Cata/when Garrosh took over. I mean, dude has always been overly bloodthirsty and mentally unstable. Sylvanas would've been a better Warchief, and that's saying something.
      It makes sense, though. Only reason this war keeps going on is because game hook - if it wasn't Warcraft, no one would play it. I just wish they'd let WoW die and move on to continuing actual Warcraft and write more books and stuff. The game has gotten old and if Legion is as bad as it feels like it'll be, I quit for good.

    MoP had some incredibly immersive content. Holy shite. Vanilla was all about elements, dragons, bugs, and undead and it sucked you in to each one with its music as well (same with BC, WotLK, Cata). Blizzard might be the best company when it comes to feeling authenticity, even with fictional archetypes & atmospheres. I quit a day after wod was released so I can't really speak for it but man... nostalgia.

      For me MOP was the best xpac even above Wrath. Why ? The lore, even if inspired by asian culture was the most original one and not based only on what was established in War3; the general design, so refreshing, so colorful; the true feeling of adventure to discover a land never seen before; the sound design in general; the PVE clever mechanics in raids. So much to say about this xpac.
