- Fluid art inspirational video! Continuing to experiment with solvent, based paints, alongside my acrylics, using a really unique product called Vitrail. Vitrail is a pebeo product and can be found easily on Jerry’s Artarama. Also using Australian red violet from Matisse for the first time and I am absolutely in love! Moving towards a larger painting with this concept, I hope you like it!

I cannot get over the vibrancy of this painting yet it doesn’t feel “busy”, for lack of a better word. I suppose because the composition is so intentional, as all of your work is. It’s incredibly beautiful and I love that magenta and chartreuse together. The solvent based paint adds such unique effects, I’ll have to look into it further through your shop. I love that chartreuse!! Especially next to that red violet! Beautiful painting. Curious, how long does it take for the solvent based paint to dry on the canvas?
From my experiments, the drying time is about the same as the acrylics, Less maybe because it's thin!
It takes a little bit longer to dry, but it’s a pretty similar dry time. Thanks for your comments!
You continue to inspire me!! That is such a beautiful painting. Work had me very busy for a time, but reclaiming my time, and I've been painting, experimenting and its just so great to get back to it. I always finish your videos running to my studio to mix some paint!
Although I don't think I can make the FAE in April, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that's able to go. the one last fall was awesome!

This was a vitrail.
Sara I have followed you for several years. I just cannot get the effects that you get. Could be a number of reasons but I try to follow your instructions. Your color pallets are always stunning. Will you be in any fluid art experience seminars closer to Louisiana this year. I would love to spend the time just watching you and trying to absorb as much as I can. Love your work. I realize the work you put in after it is dry is what makes it spectacular and you have the eye for enhancement!
Hi Kathy, I’m not sure if we’re gonna be in that part of the country. My guess is that the fluid our experience will come back to Texas at some point, however I’m not sure if I will be teaching there. Seattle is the next place I’ll be in April.❤️🙏

Carolyn, I think with any art for my creative piece of advice is to try to enjoy every part of the process. Every time you come back to it, you will learn something new and it will start caring you in different directions. If there’s one thing that you’re worried or scared of doing, that’s probably the thing that you need to do in order to move forward. I hope this helps, there’s any other ways I can support your journey let me know.🙏❤️
Can I please ask what your ratio is and what does it consist of? Is it floetrol or another pouring medium? and/or water that you’re adding to your paint recipe? Do you use silicone oil if not how are you getting all those cells. Also do you know the best way to get lacing in your pieces. Thank you your work is phenomenal

It’s an effect achieved by using a very thin basecoat with satin enamel in it. I have a really great paint Mixing video that might help answer some questions.
