- Today we fit a HD Automotive turbo kit to this extremely tidy old LN130 Toyota 4Runner. This video is the same process to turbo your Toyota Hilux LN106, LN106, LN111 and similar to the LN167 models. We run the vehicle up on the dyno and examine the results from tuning!
Fantastic vid! i have a 5Le Would be great to see a video showing the difference of doing a efi engine. Pros and cons of swapping on a manual injector pump compared to using a unichip.. keep em vids coming.
I had a LN130 many years ago. I bought a turbo kit and fitted it myself and without altering the injector pump, the clutch would breakaway driving along the road. Had to fit a heavier clutch and fixed it all. I sold it at about 420,000 KM only because it was not legal with the caravan I bought. That's why I now have a KDJ120 Prado.
Found this comment on another project. No sump or diff removal. Sounds good?
"as for the oil return, there is almost no pressure in the oil return line so you can do what you like with it, i chose to use the alt return line as i did not want to drill into the sump, this will not compromise your alt as it is a very low pressure line, so insert a brass T and fit your turbo drain into the pipe, make sure you return flows freely!! if oil sits in a low point of the line it will cause oil to backup and slow the rate of the return and this can cause turbo troubles, i tackled this problem for days as there is very little room down new the alt!.
This is my braided oil return line being T'ed into the alt return..."
38 standard. There are blokes making 200. How many new cars can can have that percentage increase in power, none. Mine is holding 30psi for years and loves life, unopened engine 👌🏽😂 tough old engines, typical old school Toyota
This video is well needed right now. I’ve got an N/A petrol IFS lux that needs the crankshaft inspected for possible big end bearing failure and I was gonna pull a whole lot more out to get sump off 😂
What turbo could I use to increase hp on a 4runner kzn130
Hello i want to know if we can do the same with a hilux pick-up 2.4 d 2004
Awesome Vlog. Luv the Toyota, 2 Luxs at home but do have a New Jimny which took out the Sydney No1 most modded 4x4 prize from Sam and Sam. Will be watching the Zook build with HUGE interest then sending mine your way.
Thanks heaps for the comment Sean, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content. How good are the Jimny’s 😍 Congrats on the award, we look forward to seeing it!
Good vid 👍
Hello. I want to do the same with my hilux surf ln131, 3L engine.
Has anything been modified to the engine? or did they just install the turbo?
106 with solid diff while 107 had an ifs
Hey mate do you use a catch can at all? Not quite sure what they’re all about
Hi will this kit work with the 5L engine? Will it require intercooler also?
Great, clear and pratical video fellas 👍
Hello , what exhaust manifold did you use? A 1kzt manifold? Or 2LT? Same mount?
Why you did not use a toyota ct26 or ct20 turbo?
It's our own exhaust manifold we make and manufacture, the ct26 turbo is far to big for this engine and the CT20 is far to unreliable, both turbos are from 30-40 years ago
@@hd_hayden thanks for responding , was wondering wich exhaust manifold can go with , because i am willing to to buy a KZJ95 with an 5L engine here in tunisia,
for the turbo ,it's true that the CT turbos a old ones but effecient , thinking about mounting a VGT from an X5 M57 engine with pneumatic valve
i think it will deliver a good power and torque at low RPM
Why wasnt the vacuum pump return line not used to drain the turbo to the sump
Because there’s too much oil going through too small of a return hole and it eventually backs up into the turbo blowing the seals out
So the cross over pipes don't have any brackets to support them?........and only are supported by silicon hose that connect to inlet/turbo ect?
Hi mate
They’re alloy, they weigh about 300grams each.
Why do you believe they need brackets? Even factory pipes don’t have brackets
How much for this kit LN106 . Thanks
Can i install on prado j150 5l-e i need to put turbo
Yes
That's awesome, if you do a kit for the 2.4 22r motor let us know please
Unfortunately we don’t however thanks for your comment!
What are those rims
Hey mate just seeing if that turbo kit will work with a ac in the way
Hi mate yes it will
Where to buy this complete turbo set ?
Ebay
Yewwww
🔥
15w40 or 5w40?
15w40
@@hd_hayden Thx!
Why didnt you use a intercooler?
Don’t need to at this power level/with this kit
Is that a cast dump pipe?
Hand made mate out of stainless steel 304
What Garrett turbo are yous running
Looks like a garrett gbc 20-300.
It’s a 17-250
They all look the same in the GBC range
@hd_hayden I was guessing off the AR on the housing. I forgot which was which.
I got the 22-350 on my 4j GQ. Heading up to see Mani on Thursday
that's a Hilux surf😂
It’s actually a 4Runner, same engine and driveline as a LN106
@@hd_haydenNo mention of the fuel pump. Did you upgrade it and add the boost compensator or did you use the standard LN106 pump.
@@bobwhatshisname2161 It's a standard pump
2nd gen 4runner
I turboed my 2.8L 4runner using the turbo from a 2.4L surf same turbo set up I think it's a ct20 turbo
