For sure. I love these asymmetric formats where we see a home cook and a chef take on similar challenges but we tax the chef's skills by putting extra limits on them.
I love how Kush goes into teacher mode after these battles, i think it goes to show how the normals have progressed so far that only a few conceptual tweaks and they could be doing what the chefs are doing :D
Yup, that's one thing I love about Kush, he's very playful, but when it comes to helping his friends he's also 100% supportive in trying to help them improve.
I agree, and actually think Kush and Jamie didn’t have too dissimilar ideas in the battle, lots of the methods and thought processes were somewhat the same. They’ve come a long way.

@@Khazandar I understand training and experience plays it’s part, but there is a creative part of the brain that also plays a part and even with the knowledge and experience, not everyone would think “Those Flavours really work together, let me put this cuttlefish and pork in the same blender and make it into a burger/fishcake”

There are people trained for the same job that are top quality and those who are less so and it has a lot to do with the skills, talents and innate abilities you have. There is nothing negative about that, it just means you cannot train someone to be virtuoso, you just teach them how to do it and the rest is up to them :)

I want to add : whilst not neglecting quality at all! Plenty of "content providers" try to up the quantity of content produced, and it almost always means a drop in quality of it. Yours is still great quality, great editing, great energy throughout. You've quickly became my favorite channel, and I can't cook for sh*t, who would have thought 😂
It will be sad in a few days when we don't get new videos everyday anymore. But I could only imagine how much work doing these daily uploads must take. Prerecording multiple videos a day and what not.

What i truly LOVE about the Kush-Jamie dynamic is the two sides of it. The banter is fantastic throughout and in the end Kush is so wholesome and supportive. There is always encouragement, tips and recognition coming from him.

Kush's creativity isn't just in developing something completely new and out of the box. I love how he sees a "losing dish" and knows exactly how to turn it into a winning dish without changing it into something completely new. Definitely would love a series with Kush as the center!
Kush grabbing the bown from his sauce and munching on some of the lotus fruit chips the second thr service was done is the most line Chef thing I have ever seen him do on camera and I loved it.
Love when Kush does these competitions, because getting to hear his excellent constructive advice to the guys and the eager way they soak that in, is wonderful to see. 😄
I really love chaos goblin vs chaos goblin contests 😁 (not that kush was particularly chaotic this time, but still, I love it) I also really love things like this because it’s like proof that no matter what weird things we have in our cabinets, something delicious COULD be made.

Stuff like this, with weird ingredient mixes and viciously short time limits, is exactly what I wish more of those 'Masterchef' style TV programs did to test the skill of their contestants (especially when they're judging supposed 'professionals'). What Kush managed to throw together, in less time than this video even, was just incredible.
This was so impressive and Kush's thinking was spot on. I would have also deep fried the cuttlefish. But I would have thrown it in the buttermilk as soon as time started to let it tenderise a bit, might have worked, maybe not in that time frame. Putting it through the blender like Kush did was just genius
the problem will be the stock.. lotus root soup is not just about the root, but the meat based stock its usually part off. also, doing a soup, might be a problem incorporating some of the other ingredients. also, 15 mins...@@mikemcklieve

As much as I love Kush and Jamie and am incredibly impressed by their ability to plate something up with those ingredients, Mike's commentary was the best part of this video. He was being a chaos gremlin and I love it.
I would love to see a version of this where the normal can take up to two hours, and then the chef gets half of whatever time the normal used. A hard balance of "I can take my time" with "I don't want to give the chef more time".
Kush is so expressive, he brings a completely different chaotic chef/teacher energy to the videos than Ebbers, but in a way where they both shine and bring so much to the table.
A back and forth between Kush and Ebbers sharing cooking & preparation tips they’ve learned, be it short cuts or technique would be really cool. Maybe conversation style with drinks could be a cozy format

Kush's fish burger is simply amazing. The rapid creation is also impressive. Although, Jamie certainly got creative with the scotch egg! And for not knowing what to do with cuttle fish and lotus root, he managed quite well.
If it was anyone other than Kush, I would’ve been terrified by the speed he was rushing around to finish his dish in the 15 minute time limit 😂😂 Kush’s performance violated health and safety completely and it’s genuinely impressive he didn’t chop a finger off or melt his hand in 180 degree oil 😂😂

Honestly I'm impressed with what Jamie came up with and I'm sure it was very delicious but Kush is (to be contradictory) a machine. You can see his chef and Michelin experience come through. Ohh my I need more Kush in my personal experience
Kush with the obvious win. Jamie with a great concept that will be improved with the cuttlefish added to the pork pie. The pastry in the sauce is an amazing addition. Also, Jamie missed his lotus root crisps on the final plate.
Jamie, agree with you 100% Kush is a bloody wizard, how he does what he does in 15 minutes just defies belief, well done Jamie on the creation but for me Kush won that by a mile.
I just started watching, but the most incredible thing till now is how incredible our mind is, Mike says repeatedly "fruit" and Kush alsways hears "root". ❤❤❤

I'm not sure what surprises me more. Mike hearing Kush say "lotus ROOT" but still saying fruit anyway, or Kush hearing Mike say "lotus FRUIT" over and over and not picking up on it.
I kinda love how jamie's though process was similar to kush's, except kush's better knowledge of indgredients allowed him to use everything to their limits, where as jamie left the cuttle fish underused. It shows how far the home cooks are

Kush with the obvious win. Jamie with a great concept that will be improved with the cuttlefish added to the pork pie. The pastry in the sauce is an amazing addition. Also, Jamie missed his lotus root crisps on the final plate.
There was one in the middle of the "hummus" bowl. I guess they counted that

Jamie, agree with you 100% Kush is a bloody wizard, how he does what he does in 15 minutes just defies belief, well done Jamie on the creation but for me Kush won that by a mile.

I just started watching, but the most incredible thing till now is how incredible our mind is, Mike says repeatedly "fruit" and Kush alsways hears "root". ❤❤❤

I'm not sure what surprises me more. Mike hearing Kush say "lotus ROOT" but still saying fruit anyway, or Kush hearing Mike say "lotus FRUIT" over and over and not picking up on it.

I kinda love how jamie's though process was similar to kush's, except kush's better knowledge of indgredients allowed him to use everything to their limits, where as jamie left the cuttle fish underused. It shows how far the home cooks are
