It's really interesting how they do their own make up. Is there a specific look (for the characters they play) that they have to duplicate? I mean, does Glinda have specific colours and contours, or do the actors just do whatever they THINK the character would look like? I always thought there were make up artists who did the make up. One would think they needed special make up because of all the lights and what not...Laura Bell Bundy should have done a stint as Glinda - she has the perfect personality and bubbly-ness for it :)
She was actually supposed to replace Kristin after she left I believe because she was the stand by but she left to audition for Legally Blonde without telling anyone. And unfortunately the understudy was in the hospital after a stroke, so Kristin had to go on with a bejeweled neck brace. Lol so that was pretty much bye bye for Laura, but thankfully she got Elle.
She had a character sheet printed on her mirror. In my personal experience, we just do our own makeup and follow the basics of the sheet, I'm not sure but she may do this too.

I saw Ali perform alongside Carla Stickler (standby for the role of Elphaba on the first national tour) and those two are just perfect for Elphie and Glinda (alongside Megan Hilty•Eden Espinosa, Alexia Khadime•Dianne Pilkington, Julia Murney•Kendra Kassebaum, Idina Menzel•Helen Dallimore, and, above all. Idina Menzel•Kristen Chenoweth). I was also totally blown away by the show! I have to see it again!!!!
