It's the universal difficulty of portraying any activity which is primarily visual without a significant verbal component. When you're acting and have to; drive a car, load a weapon, play a video game, read a book, have a fist fight, repair anything, climb anything, etc... you have to exaggerate every movement to make sure the viewer picks up on what you're doing. That being said, no idea if any of them play video games but I've had to give direction before to other fellow gamers "I know you play and you're accurately representing how you play Counter Strike, but I need you to 'act' like your playing"
@@nishav101822 that’s really stupid though, because most people know that isn’t how you play, so it just looks ridiculous. There’s no violent button mashing or rigorous controller shaking-why would there be?
@@SF-cq3lh most people know it isn't the case *now*, when nerd culture has been established for longer than a decade, when this show was being produced and first came out "nerds" were still fairly uncommon and most importantly seen with a bad eye by the majority of people, so yes back then most people thought mashing all buttons made sense besides, I'm fairly certain it's still incorrect today. keyword: most, the majority of people above the age of 40 never played nor showed any interest in videogames, and there's also a lot of youngsters out there who live in extreme poverty and thus never had any chance to play videogames in the first place. even if you only referred to the target of this show, a lot of the aforementioned over 40s watched and still watch this today, which is both cool and weird considering they likely dont understand most of the more elaborate jokes and lines in the show, but can still laugh at the perfectly executed "basic" jokes
@@SF-cq3lh What are you talking about? That's exactly how playing games on a console was for me and the boys back in the day during some more intense moments. Not to mention the literal 'peeking' when you want to check a corner or something. Good times. The irony of the girls asking for sex while the guys are playing with the joystick like someone on a porno is pretty hilarious. They are playing a shooter while shaking the controller and only mashing the buttons. It's not a schmup.
It’s funny how far this show goes to make sure that their equations and physics is correct, but playing Halo like a regular person (not pressning all buttons all the time at once and shake the controllers) is something not worth investigating.
I love how this comment section is full of people upset about the controllers. Nobody cares bro, play pcgames, controllers are casual gaming and thats how casual gaming looks like

*Very believable because I've experienced the similar and more than once. Fortunately friends re-directed my attention before the opportunities were lost. Cheers!*
I always wonder why the producers decided to change the style of the show. The first seasons were about the science and geek stuff (4 boys and a girl). Bernadette and Amy only came to change the things, making the show turns into an another type of Friends, and changing Howard and Sheldon personalities. (Of course nothing against Melissa and Mayim)
It's because this show probably had a mostly male demographic until they added the women. It's all about the money, they dont care about your storyline
Came here to say the same thing, you don’t charge the plasma rifle you charge the plasma pistol! 😤 And assuming it’s Reach active camo is an action and not a power up.
Future episodes often add details that contradict earlier episodes. I think it’s because the writers cannot remember everything they previously scripted.
How much wax would be in the ears of a guy not hearing a woman offer him sex? Some nerds like me would get excited for an attractive woman asking for a dance.
Boyd W they where in a state of mind called in the zone its a phenomenon that gamers experience when they get so into the game they forget all things around them and can only be brought out of this state by something that will draw their attention away like a phone ringing
Boyd W in reality....i could see them being able to have any girl they actually put their mind to getting. There's no counting how many times I chose video games over pussy in my life. And I don't regret any because I have had enough pussy to last 2 lifetimes....for me anyhow
You have to be dramatic in shows and movies when using a game controller or TV remote since we, the audience, are not capable of understanding what they're actually doing. The excessive movements really express how they are in fact gaming as opposed to simply holding controllers. When adjusting the volume using a TV remote you have to tell everyone to be quiet and hold straight out, directly in front of your face while pressing the buttons as though your life depends on it. It's basic science and absolutely how 100% of people act in the real world.
So, can we add "Holding an Xbox controller" to the list of things that the Big Bang Theory cast and writers have never done or seen prior to this scene?
You don't get it. They don't research this shit. Like how they've said you blow up into chunks in Halo or having Sex is a main mechanic of World of Warcraft
Krow From The Krow's Nest You think I don't know that??? The fact that almost all their game references are wrong kinda tells me enough they they know jack all.

2:41 Raj: "There are no rules in hell!"
Raj hilariously had me cracked up while he's focusing on playing the video game 😂😂
MISTAKE at min 1.28 Seasons later there is an episode in which Sheldon mentions that he learnt how to dance when he was a kid. So he CAN dance.
Or... he was lying because it was *Halo* night, not dancing night.
He ment if they could dance like on the party, he can only dance standard dances .
@@argelovec6216 no, he couldn't have meant that as he wouldn't be able to distinguish the idiosyncrasies. He cant pickup social cues, let alone mentally partition and sort the subjective ideals of what makes dancing and dancing different for certain social circles. He's not capable
It was a simple continuity error as op pointed out
he can he just doesnt lol
@@jedediahgordon4064 actually Sheldon has shown the tendency to be manipulative and shade the facts many times. He can be extremely rigid about the facts in one situation and extremely fluid with them if he's going to benefit. And there are even scenes where he is caught lying and owns up to it for humorous effect.
And based upon the subsequent young Sheldon show, it seems his memories of childhood are different than the reality of his childhood.
Well we can say this is a continuity error, we can also say that it reveals he has a tendency to shade things in his memory or to perceive things differently than from reality.
In any case Sheldon has definitely shown a tendency to be, ahem, selective in his presentation of the facts more than once.
"And we never so those three other chicks again" THE END

How did you find that out
Hes throwing darts in air. Thats all, otherwise he would have given real names
@@priyankarsinha685 no he isn't, otherwise 27 people wouldn't have liked his comment. And those probably are their real names which are not difficult to find. Just type in google the show's episode and the word cast and voilà.
Did you make that up?
Ok, the actress names and character names are in the final credit, I noticed TBBT credits ALL the people appearing, even without speaking roles and just a couple of seconds like a waiter serving a dish.
So starting from their names you looked for the actress pictures, matched them on the scene and named them with the character name.
Good job!
Now you only need to provide their home address and your conversion into Howard is complete.
Brilliant comedy series. So well written. Great writers make great TV. Good acting too. We always laughed a lot.
The first seasons only before the show became crap
The show was always crap.
@@walking_contradiction92 lighten up. Develop a sense of humor. Don't be a crabby crab.
Always funny to see how non-gamers imagine that you smash all the buttons while playing a game. xD
@@SF-cq3lh most people know it isn't the case *now*, when nerd culture has been established for longer than a decade, when this show was being produced and first came out "nerds" were still fairly uncommon and most importantly seen with a bad eye by the majority of people, so yes back then most people thought mashing all buttons made sense
besides, I'm fairly certain it's still incorrect today. keyword: most, the majority of people above the age of 40 never played nor showed any interest in videogames, and there's also a lot of youngsters out there who live in extreme poverty and thus never had any chance to play videogames in the first place. even if you only referred to the target of this show, a lot of the aforementioned over 40s watched and still watch this today, which is both cool and weird considering they likely dont understand most of the more elaborate jokes and lines in the show, but can still laugh at the perfectly executed "basic" jokes
@@SF-cq3lh What are you talking about? That's exactly how playing games on a console was for me and the boys back in the day during some more intense moments. Not to mention the literal 'peeking' when you want to check a corner or something. Good times. I mean we were mostly kids back then and I haven't played consoles in a long ass time, but I presume I may still be getting all wild with the controller if the game is getting crazy.
In some games it does happen, such as Super Smash Bros, Tekken and Mortal Kombat. If you've just been given the controller and don't know the game.
You know they’re addicted to gaming when Howard doesn’t even do anything 😂
The irony of the girls asking for sex while the guys are playing with the joystick like someone on a porno is pretty hilarious.
They are playing a shooter while shaking the controller and only mashing the buttons. It's not a schmup.
I like how the girls didnt look judgemental. They were just like "lol"
Yeah they were like “aww how cute, not your typical male just looking to screw”
It’s funny how far this show goes to make sure that their equations and physics is correct, but playing Halo like a regular person (not pressning all buttons all the time at once and shake the controllers) is something not worth investigating.
I love how this comment section is full of people upset about the controllers. Nobody cares bro, play pcgames, controllers are casual gaming and thats how casual gaming looks like

if Howard heard it I think it would've been more funny.
@@albertocarrilho5839 exactly, it was good for the series imo
It's because this show probably had a mostly male demographic until they added the women. It's all about the money, they dont care about your storyline
Maybe they started to feel bad about what horrible men they had written.
Series evolved fine for me.
because change is good. Would you watch the same thing over and over and over? no you wouldn't unless you are simple minded and entertained easily.

The way they’re handling the controllers 😂 Nobody plays Halo like that
As a Halo player it bothered me so much.
It’s because actors don’t play games or computers, and don’t know the proper way to use them
So they just pound-away on the keys haphazardly & the screen magically fills with graphics.
They're always button mashing 😂 Doesn't matter which game they're playing
"It's like talking to a wall" Lmao it feels like that all the time
LOL this is literally how gaming used to be 15 years ago! I miss those times.
So, can we add "Holding an Xbox controller" to the list of things that the Big Bang Theory cast and writers have never done or seen prior to this scene?
Oh god, the most painful moment is Sheldon using RB+LB to cloak
