Nicely done man. I had a '97 LSC a loooong time ago, back when they were fairly new. There were whispers of a manual-converted one, but didn't see much. The whole time I owned mine I wanted to be shifting gears myself - props for making it happen.
Beautiful car and great video with editing as strong as the cobra powerplant. The Mark VIII style looks fit for a tracksuit making athletic moves. I own a formal design Lincoln from the 80’s, but I really admire the final edition Mark series that you have.
I understand that one! I’m in the same boat. It’s hard to even work on my vehicles let alone video the process lol mine are all shit cell phone vids anyway. But i did get my mark viii up and going but from sitting a while the tail shaft seal on my 3650 is leaking badly ughhh!
That was a cool video and the sound of the car sounds really good .What kind of exhaust you put on there ? I was trying to find a cold air intake for my mark 8 and I cannot find a good style cold air intake . What kind do U use and or recommend.
Been rockin a 98 I bought from the second owner. Bags popped, deer damage, 230,000 and neglected hardcore. Converted to coils and spent weeks just cleaning it. Got it back to laying posi’s. The most underestimated car I’ve ever owned. UFO status. As in mk8’s are fast and super sleeper mode cars. Manual trans swap would be the only thing I would change.
Well if you can stand watching long winded videos which have music choices you may not like you can watch my transmission swap series on my channel lol. All kidding a side there is some good info in there about how to do the swap as that was the whole point of the video series. However there are definitely gaps in information. It was fairly difficult. Had to do some fabricating and wiring.
@@JosephPPreston Dash works. I do have a "gear display error" on my control center display. Also a check engine light. The code reads exactly the same. Gear input error I think. Everything works though. I had somebody write a tune on the SCT X4 platform for the car. That is the only part I dont have any knowledge on. As far as what was neccessary to get the ecm to work properly.
My 97 LSC has one more month and then its bye bye. Won't pass emisions. Plates expired Mid May but with the help of the lovely Wuhan Virus, i get to August 1st to ride it. It has 118,500 miles on it. Took it to Ford to see why it wont pass emissions. They had not a clue. Was a waste of money. I honestly hate this car. Been nothing but problems. I wish I had my 93 Tbird back with the 3.8. That was much more dependable, easier to drive, and easier to work on. Rest in Piece T bird. (Was stolen by two skinny black dudes who drove it in 2nd gear down the highway going 70 before it blew up.)
Better than a Mustang from the same era without question.
Well I don’t really think you can compare the two, aside from the engine. Completely different vehicles.
Definitely not
That thing has a stick fucking sick😮
Really nice car Most People don’t realize what these cars were. Great sleeper build platform.
Love this, looking at getting a Mark 8 for a cool sleeper build this gave me alot of inspiration!
Just bought a 97 today, one owner.. I cant wait to drive it !
Supreme 💯🍻
Daily bread! 🍞 Just picked up the same make and model from my Granpa the ride is awesome

What’s going? How the Mark VIII been?

You got style playa!!
Buying one tomorrow one owner 130000 miles I’m so excited
Wow I think it's the best mark 8 that I've ever seen, done in very good taste my boy that shit looks hard.
Looking for info before I buy one, and just your video was too good not to say anything! Well done!
Nice!!
Been a while glad to see your back!
Thanks my friend. Dont know how much though. Bought a house to remodel which is going to consume my time unfortunately for car vids.

Planning on buying some of those wheels at tax time. Just can't make up my mind chrome or black. The price on the chrome ones is killing me.
Gawd damn that's clean you still have it?
Cobra badges are backwards
Love your mark viii. This was my first car, would like to know where you bought those wheels from I cant find them online.
Thanks! The car has cobra hubs/ hub pattern. So those are just mustang wheels from LMR.
Love doing burnouts in my mk8!!!
Sick! 👍🏻

How has the Mark 8 been holding up?
I'm in deep with my manual swap and this series has helped a ton.
Mmmm digging the stance of this thing, what suspension is hiding under it?
It had some kinda airbag suspension
Anyone looking to buy a Mark VIII, i have a Gen I and a Gen II for sale with original 4v / 4r70w . Located in GA. Let me know!
@Jessepliance What transmission is that and how hard was the swap? I have a 98 as well.
