Dude , these episodes are gettin' better & better ! Thx fellas , ya'll rock .
Thanks! We are having a blast making this stuff, tons of work but so worth it. Appreciate the support!
What kinds of hand lights do you guys use I get different ones but they are all kinda fragile
@@StayTunedTA When ya come thru Nashville shout out to your #StayTuned fans 🤘🏼🏁
My grandpa actually had a mark viii when I was a kid. He would lean my seat back and give it the beans and convince me it was actually taking off. I really thought we were flying. I'll never forget that.
That's awesome. Thanks for sharing that memory.
Yep the good old days ! I will never forget my neighbor just got a new 1986 ford ltd with a 460 . He took me for a ride and said hold on I’m going to shower down on it ! First time I’d ever heard that term ! I was 11 .
@@Leonard-hk1nf The last 460 ltd was 1978
He sounds like a cool grandpa
It's the little things.. All it takes to create a car enthusiast!
Nothing will burn out a youtuber quicker than trying meet a deadline every week to put a video out.
We want new videos, but 7 days. 10 days, no big deal, do your thing. If it's not fun, what's the point.
Great job boys.
Hell yeah. Especially when you're doing wild car stuff, it's totally understandable when something sneaks up on you.
Problem with it being a business is they haft to keep uploading consistent or they will fall off the algorithm
Definitely a marathon not a sprint
Yessir, agreed but we are trying to keep the growth strong and deliver a weekly show at the same time every week!
maybe look into that... nowadays i dont think people are even really aware of when things come out ... they see they click. or they watch things in batches. Either way please dont burn yourself out! its great to have a new show and, you gaining me as a fan from roadkill, i can say in this type of stuff you do its nice to get to you know and see how you do things... not how you feel like you HAVE to do things
@@StayTunedTA
Man, we are really into the same stuff! Love this project!
Mark Viii and Cobra faceoff? Choices choices Alex!
Say what, LSC in the house!!!😮
Long lost brothers, hehehehe
LSC + Stay Tuned collab? SING ME UP BABY!!!
Just watched your awesome Mustang video. Thanks Dudes!
You know, you guys and Dave Chapelle are some of my favorite channels to watch, just because it feels like normal people doing car stuff. No crazy production, no $15,000 engines, just stuff that is way more likely to happen in a regular person's garage.
Thought for a minute that the greatest youtube shop and my favorite HRG host shouted me out, turns out there's another Mr. B, and their screename isn't even Mr. B?! I'm going to claim it still, as like, half a shout out. Love you guys, keep killing it
Appreciate you too bud! Big time!
OHHHHHHHH WEZZZZZZZLEY
I love how you can tell there is years of love and friendship between Tony and Barb. Oh, and the fact that you didn't even get the engine in the car and running and the episode STILL kicked ass is just a testament to how well the formula of your channel works. Thanks a lot for all the time and effort, guys.
Thank you for giving the Lincoln another chance. I was worried u gave up on it. I love mean Lincolns.
No worries! Happy to dig it out of the backyard!
It's going to drive him to drinkin, that hot rod Lincoln.
This show wipes anything on MotorTrend. Best automotive content on RUclips. Fresh ideas, great crew, and production is top quality!
I gotta say barb the edit with tony smacking his ass making fun of zac just made me spit coffee all over 😂😂😂. Y’all are fing great please don’t ever change guys this show rocks 🤘🤘🤘
Go to the pound and get a cat or two. Make sure they’re fixed. Keep them at the shop, give them some food/water and a heated pad in a little shelter they can sleep in and you will NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH MICE AGAIN in and around the shop.
I remember watching Tony in his pro drift days, dude was a animal, never thought I’d see him building a sleeper, hot Rod Lincoln
I find it almost ironic that you guys and Legit Street Cars are now both doing Ford 4 valves (LSC just rebuilt one for a 2003 Cobra Mustang 😊) after both of you just finished LS swapped Porches. It's awesome how both builds were so similarly completed, and the build approach followed along the same lines. It's a ton of fun following both channels. Keep up the great work!
If you need help getting tooling on a budget for your Bridgeport, I'm more than happy to help guide the way and give you part numbers from MSC Industrial Supply...I ran a one man machine shop for a few years on a shoestring budget and would be glad to point you guys in the right direction on what tooling to get, what RPMs to run the tooling, and anything else I can teach or help out with...I recently got out of machining after just over 25 years and I'm glad to pass along any knowledge I can...
LET'S GO 🏁
18:56.. That's how pizza is supposed to sound ☝️
I had a 92 Thunderbird SC which is built on the same MN12 chassis as the MK VIII, only instead of the 32V 4.6 it has a supercharged 3.8 V6. All that I did to it was a cold air intake, a blower pulley to up the boost from 12 psi to 15 psi and a full mandrel bent 2 1/2" exhaust with Hooker aero-chamber mufflers and it shocked quite a few people once it was allowed to breathe. Unfortunately it got flooded in a hurricane so I don't have it anymore.
I loved those as a kid and they can be pretty stout! Was considering one for the V12 swap!
@@StayTunedTA You would need a V12 swap on it. That 3.8L blows up if you give it a dirty look, just being in your presence would cause it to start rod knocking. I had one that was built to the gills, forged crank, rods, arp hardware, and I blew that sumbitch up twice. The bone stock replacement engine? I blew it up. The other 92 SC I had...blew that one up too. That was the day I swore off the 3.8L Ford.
@316Autos I always heard they were pretty stout for what they are I see guys making 400 rwhp on stock bottom end. Did you have proper supporting mods and tuning? That stuff matters alot. What happened to it? Detonation?
@@midnight347 Yep, proper everything, they're just fragile engines. The GM 3800 was way better.
@@316Autos oh great i was looking at one yesterday was tempted to do buy and do pulley an exhaust but now u got me rethinking it
Thanks for picking this project up again. I love seeing this, and I hope that lincoln just screams all night long for y'all. I've got a 97 Mark VIII that's already 5 speed swapped and some day getting the terminator setup. Good luck, gents.
When I started working at the engine plant, for about a month I was dumbfounded that engines were built by people that didn't know anything about engines. Glory of the assembly line.
OMG the food was killing me!!! If only I could get delivery to western NY! Another great episode y'all rock!
Glad you liked it!~ Appreciate it! We have so much good food out here, it's wild.
rodding in style and comfort Love it Guys !
Same! Best seats ever!
I love that every episode is getting a lot done not like other RUclips channels that drag it along for content. 👍 👌
This is a cool project. I love a sleeper. I have had a number of them in my life. You guys pick some really great vehicles. Not the cookie cutter muscle cars. It’s nice to see some cars that don’t have the huge notoriety. Cars that blue collar guys still have a shot at picking up. I have owned A couple of Chargers and a Dusters and 3 Darts. They did not have the price tags in the mid 80’s. A 72 Charger that was 1000 dollars in my high school days is worth 5-7 grand today. Unless you can swap an engine and rebuild your classic it’s has become nearly impossible for known the dream car when you are young. That is why I love your channel. Budget is a focus and shared knowledge is given in spades. Thank you for the great channel and the honest approach.
usually the issue with these is the oil drain back. you have so much oil being pumped to the top and nothing coming back to the bottom. we have gotten around this is external drain backs at the rear of the heads to the back of the oil pan.
Must be a Ford thing Cleveland's used to be bad for that back in the day with hv oil pumps. I got caught out with my mid ninties build. Run both mains and big ends. After pulling it apart re machining crank and reassembly i put in oil restrictor kit, modded stock pan to 8 litre capacity and the falcon 351c was back in business. Oil dramas were a thing of the past. Went real good that XF Falc....Manual too
@@xbgtfella absolutely. Had to drill holes into the back of my cj heads on my 400. Cam restrictors help. Using a high pressure pp vs a high volume also helps.
This has to be a Ford thing. This is a must for Ford FE’s that spin a lot of rpm.
@@Agnostic.JohnOG 385's and Windsors didn't have this issue. It's also the last of the old engines developed.
What happened engine was dry started with no oil in the system. Dry oil pump, pickup, filter, chain tencheners, lifter/followers, & oil galleries.
You have to use a pressurized oil can to prime oil system on these engines. By time oil pump picks up oil distributes oil through engine & pushes all air out of these small parts & galleries the bearings has done ran dry for no telling how long then ran on airated oil foaming causing metal on bearing wear.
I'm so glad you revived this project. I was afraid it was relegated to project car purgatory. I've owned a bunch of these over the years and they're really great cars. This is my second-favorite car you've done on the channel, next to the unmatched awesomeness of the metalflake Firebird. Looking forward to next weeks episode and 600 WHP.
Right on! Every time we dig back into it I really do get super excited about it.
Fantastic, "rapid uncheduled dissassembly" to running & driving.
Yes, not my first encouter with such an event. Hope it's the last for awhile!
Hope the PA weather isnt kicking y'all too hard! Thanks for bringing this rig back around
It sure put a drag on the week but we got some stuff done anyway!
I'm up in Jim Thorpe in Carbon County and we still have quite a bit of snow laying around.
I just lost my shop for real (I guess I didn't finish my car in time), but this channel is the support I needed. Thank you guys and keep it up!
I used to sell those when I was in college. They started in 1993. Loved them!!!!! So much fun to drive. I drifted one at 70 mph around a near 90º turn once. lol
I'm stoked to see the Lincoln getting some redemption finally! It's broken your heart twice, but the third time's the charm. Fingers crossed for an incredible Dyno session
Highly recommend degreeing the cams. If those are not stock cams 2 degrees can be catastrophic. Love the channel.
Yeah, really hoping the pistons don’t crash into the valves. 🤞
Proper peg type verniers ideally too.
At 30:20, you definitely do NOT want lube on both sides of the head stud washers as its possible to over torque the stud. You want the cylinder head side of washer dry, and lube is applied on the nut side of washer. ARP has info out there about this.
Clutching your pearls 22:50 talking about wap block 😂😂😂🤣
So glad you are doing your own channel! Absolutely LOVE your videos, projects, the punk music, the pies, and all the shenanigans! I look forward to them every Friday! Keep up the great work and the dry sense of humor lol. So good! It's a shame that Lucky can't be a part of all of this, but he is doing his own thing and I get it. You two were hilarious together!
I really like Lucky but I doubt he has any interest in weather like this!! 😊
Cannot wait for this episode! Been super pumped for the Lincoln to come back to life! Happy Friday ST crew! ❤
Right on, thanks for watching!
Just finished, another great episode in the life of the Lincoln! Thanks to the whole team for the dedication and hard work in bringing these projects to life, love watching it and can't wait for more as always!
So I am a grandpa and had dreams of doing this to my Lincoln Mk VIII. It had the spring conversion, but lost oil pressure when the line from the pressure sensor back to the block blew. By the time I realized it was spewing oil there wasn't any left. Glad you picked up another block and are trying again!!!
Got an LS after the Mk VIII. Swap the plastic parts around the thermostat with the aluminum ones from the Jaguar engine... my tip for the day.
This dude is the Russel Peters of the automotive world, just awesome!!!
Fu@king love this car. Can't wait for this build. Take it Deep.
Thanks! Giving it the old Stay Tuned try, I don't want to let it rot.
Give it hell brother.
Bring it! Yes yes yes- friday content. Its an auto enthusiast party up on here. Thanks stay tuned crew. And please allow me to proclaim to all- SEND IT BABY!!!
Let's Go bud! Thanks for watching!
Love this project! Also love how "loose" you were in this episode Tony. Lots of great comments and silliness!
I hope Zack is at home staying warm with some warm strange right beside him. 😂😂😂😂
"It's BACK! They're working on it again!" -me, regardless of what car Stay Tuned works on because they're all awesome
Ha, I really appreciate that!
Sleepers are the best !! Trying to put a 6.2 in my colorado right now for a sick daily sleeper !!
Super cool having your little boy on...good dad
Not surprised Tony breaks motors and hammers every other episode
If the car looks like a hairdressers car but runs 10s, would that be considered a sleeper? :)
Absolutely! Maybe we hide the exhaust a little better too.
Woot! I've been waiting for this to drop today!
Enjoy! Sorry for the delay!
@StayTunedTA no worries yall. I'll happily wait.
@StayTunedTA looking forward to seeing the final product. Great modern sleeper
And fwiw your timing on Fridays is perfect. You don't compete with VGG that posts later, or LSC on Saturday
Go Faster! That Body Styling looks like it was born for land speed records!!
Talk about perseverance! You guys put yourself through so much when it comes to these builds. Inspiring for sure.
Wow, go Grandpa
Grandpa is not playing.
Always a good day when Stay Tuned drops a new video.
One of my favorite car channels for awhile now. The episodes are only getting better and the builds are all so sick!
Always enjoy your show. Fun watching the kid help his dad. Nothing better than
The factory forged cranks were known as Kellog cranks
As an automotive machinist I think you should find another automotive machinist... What really probably happened is it was dry run at initial startup, smoked the rod bearings causing the crank to get hot enough to bend which took out the center mains and then completely blocked oil flow to the rod journals. I don't think you could find many other machinists that thought that was caused by harmonics .
Its got a Lincoln motor
And it's really souped up.
And that mark viii body makes it look like a pup
It's got eight cylinders; uses them all.
It's got overdrive, just won't stall.
With a 4-valve head and a dual exhaust,
With 4.11 gears
You can really get lost.
Good luck out there guys!!!! Id have to jam the song almost every time I drove it lol!!!!!
Commander Cody, 1960. I got it.
I love a Mark VIII. I’ve owned 2 and they are rocket ships stock. Can’t wait to see this beast fly!
Maaaan, growing up reading car mags in the 90s and 00s being a car guy from Canada, it was always a dream sequence, rust free anything yeah right. You PA boys are straight up legit and down and dirty proper rust belt broskis. The work ethic and can do attitude of this channel is palpable, much love and respect!
"Where did you get an engine that nice?" "It fell off the back of a truck."
You’d be surprised how often that happens here in Philly 😂
Philly chop shop slang 😂😂😂😂😂
@@chrisdooley1184 Actually, I wouldn't. I'm from the Philly area.
real dude, real content ,real FUN ,REAL GOOD!
Glad I watched this guys. I feel smarter now! I want that yacht when it’s done.
I've been around Mod motors for a few decades. Mostly 2 and 3 valve, but thought the 4 valve was supposed to be the toughest. Always heard oil pressure sending units were one of the common probs. I'd probably question if 7 psi was not accurate too LOL for that reason. Fingers crossed this one was a solid build and not some jackleg job. 😜
Late 4 valve use a normal 2v bottom end. My marauder ate a crank, and the casting was a normal gt crank.
@bgee461 marauder and auto machs got cast 6 bolt cranks all manual machs and cobras 96 up had forged cranks 03 cobra had forged rods and pistons too that is all that is needed on 93-01 4v and 03-04 Mach motors to make big power strength wise. They can make 700+ wheel with stock heads and cams with the right combo. They're low key slept on for bigger power builds and that power level in an older much lighter mustang is pretty solid even in today's standards.
Put a really quiet exhaust on it with a cutout straight off the turbine housing. 😈
Love ur work guys been paying attention to Tony since his fd days then hrg and even his guest hosts on roadkill been watching this channel since the start I like how it's all about building motors and cars and no bs like so many other channels
Another awesome video. Thanks Tony and crew, you guys make some amazing content. I've loved every project, and have not missed a video. Keep it rocking
Think this build turned me on to this channel, watching and subscribed ever since....
Turbo the world!😂
Agree to agree!
Bring in the pizza to negate the mice smell!
I'll take Basil over that stench anytime!
Good luck bro !
Great video as always!
Keep up the good work!
Another awesome video! Gotta love it when i can watch Stay Tuned and Pole Barn Garage back to back!
Lincoln mark 8 is a cobra wearing a tuxedo
I like that, I think a real cobra in a tuxedo would also be great.
You guys doing sick week?
Nah, not this year, it's a killer event though, just didn't get the S10 done in time!
Nice job, please find & use a COYOTE engine on your next Ford build and start the whole thing off at 450+ HP (@crank) STOCK. Then slap on your power-adder and even keeping it conservatively safe and one could easily have over 730+HP (@crank).
Love the channel and (almost) practical builds too guys!
Dyno that newly built SikeClone TOO! We are dying to see some numbers and tuning for optimal RWHP on it and this build also.
You guys could always add some water-Mathanol injection to SAVE from dreaded detonation that has obviously been going on with many of the power added builds. Cheap and easy insurance!
Keep-up the great VLOGs and projects !!
He'd probably end up getting the worst possible combo like a gen 1 truck engine with a quick 6.
You guys are killing it. Thanks for the great content!
First!!!
Let's GO BUD!
These are my favorite videos. Thank you guys for crushing it!
Yes! Perfect late Friday night viewing for us the other side of the pond ❤
Keep it up, we love this stuff!
Heck of a rebuild! Hope you can enjoy the snow!
Tony and his guys seem like rly good honest hard working people. I rly like that about them
I'm so glad you're working on the Hot Rod Lincoln! These are totally underrated as fast, comfortable GT cars; throw a turbo (and a lot of elbow grease!) on 'em, and you've got a Cadillac V beater! I'm really enjoying this build, guys! Have a good one!✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Yes Tony I'm watching from the carribean... I have a view of the ocean while you kick ass on this build.
I anticipate these videos. You guys are the best! Love y’all!
Absolutely love that your working on a lincoln, more commonly available and its not another cobra build. pure art shred some tires for me. Love your work guys please be safe
Another great episode! Thanks guys :-) Can’t wait to hear that bad boy run
Damn I'm happy you brought this project back. Felt bad about how things turned out before. Can't wait for the next installment
Love the builds my favorite channel!!
Hey Tony thank you again for helping me with my 468 turbo build I truly appreciate it a lot.
What a lot of work, good luck guys 👍👍
Love it! I look forward to every Friday for a new episode. Been down since day one! Keep jamin boys!
Loving the content lately! What’s even better is that it’s local! Haha. Knew exactly where you were when you were driving. Hope to catch a glimpse one of these builds on the street soon!
thanks for another great video Tony - I love the realistic builds on a budget
Right on, thanks for watching!
Great episode! Keep it up!!!
Love the content Tony. The stuff you and your guys are doing is what ive missed ever since a certaun channel decided to make people pay for content. Anyways, keep up the awesone content, and thank you for working hard so we get to see projects finished quickly and ripped. Love the cheap quick builds that relate to alot of us. Hope the new year brings great things for you and your guys, as well as all your lovely families.
I'm pretty jealous of how sick your guys shop is. I'm down in Baltimore and have been looking for an old carriage house or something of the sort, but nothing I've seen has a chain hoist like that. I'm a middle school teacher and we got some snow days this week, so I've been installing AC in my 66. It's been fricken cold man!!!!!! Can't even tell if the AC works!!!!
I had a 93 mark viii some years back, bone stock....but the transmission was perfectly fd up, would hold first gear to about 58 mph, then break loose like a monster when it hit 2nd gear at that speed. More than i imagined a grandpas lincoln could be! That trans only lasted about a year a half btw. Lol
Great work as usual, fellas. 👍🏻 Power to the sleepers!
Keep up the grind boys I love this build a lot
Another great video guys 👍😎👍
Cant wait for the next episode!!!
5.4 4V from a navigator next level!
Two things Stay Tuned always needs: pizza and a spare short block! 😆🤣. Keep rocking it, guys!
HAHA, I would like to remove one of those for sure.
