I’m guessing the NCR would effectively become the New America, and they would enter into a nuclear war with another major global power sometime a few hundred years in the future basically resetting the events of Fallout, and ending the series. “War never changes”
This makes he most sense to me because it would mean that the actions from the first Fallout game basically set the cycle back into motion. Like Ulysses said about how all it takes is one person to make, or break a Nation. Also because...

And I can’t possibly think of a more fitting way to end the series other than a second nuclear armageddon. I thought this video was about the possible ending the the Fallout series? All I saw was an idea for a new Fallout game. Mine wouldn’t necessarily be a game, probably just the written ending to the franchise as a whole. I don’t see how a game like that could even be possible. There’s no way to make a map that size, especially on that ancient engine.

@@robertsmalls2293 You need to watch this video again, this is concept of a future game, probably not for decades. Which by then technology will have advanced immensely and the creation engine would have been abandoned decades ago. I also mention that a travel system like in the old fallout games would be used, which would massively cut down the map size. Telling the ending to a game series outside of game wouldn't go down well either. At 10:36 I literally say nuking everyone is an option, an option. Because at its core Fallout should be about choice. If people want to watch the world burn for the second time, let them. If they want to use nukes to achieve their own ends, then show them the consequences of their actions (something I also outline in the video) instead of people getting attached to the game and their own version of the story they've chosen through the many titles just so some corporate schmuck can say "hey, turns out all your choices don't matter because the world just ends anyway, ah ha, bet you didn't see that original idea coming from way out of left field".

Everything literally everything about it is set up for it to fail in the long run. From the goal to conquer the West that's already been conquered to the heir to the throne being in constant dispute to the tribal identities of their members being claimed as dead and wrong but they still in fact remember them and do honor them in what little ways they can come up with to losing not just one founder but another becoming their enemy an legend to haunt them to being based on a long dead society that Wastelanders just can't replicate.
Multiple characters in New Vegas tell us it's going to die not long after Caesar does this includes the Co-Founder and the spy that found the Dam to begin the entire campaign. Are they right? I don't know it's possible it's also possible it'll transform into something else with stricter rules and/or more ethical considerations to last. But ultimately the Fallout games usually DO make a canon and it's always the morally good choices. Look I KNOW you can be a morally good character and still side with the Legion but like come on that's for gameplay...Lore and Setting is clear that the Legion is not something to be perceived as a good thing. It will lose the Mojave it will never claim California it will be pushed East where other powers with much more advanced tech and greater structure lie waiting to put the nail in the coffin.
Unless they completely isolate themselves into the already conquered territories and heavily fortify them while also maintaining an logical and structured leadership that will go unchallenged...They're most certainly going to die inbetween the events of New Vegas and whatever story picks up afterwords.

I like the idea of the final game’s world taking place in the continuous United States, traveling across all of the major areas that previous/future games take place in, revisiting the Mojave and the Capital 100+ years later, seeing how the areas have changed, the creatures that have evolved, local power struggles adding into and changing the outcomes of national campaigns. I’d imagine they’d go the route of using the canon endings of all previous games to determine how Wasteland America would look as a whole, but it would be really cool to be able to go the “build your own adventure route” where you could (with future super computer technology and shit) input and change factors from previous games like if Mr. House were to either maintain control of Vegas or not, shit like that, and see how that would change Wasteland America as a whole, like procedural story generation, but that probably isn’t how that works.

@@LoneRanger-gv3hg Ngl, I don't feel that Obsidian can pull a good Fallout, especially after Avellone left and what Outer Worlds ended up being.
They can probably put up a decent game, maybe something on the level of 4 or 3, but we won't have any writing like we got in New Vegas, they most likely will learn from any mistakes Bethesda made, but I don't see anything good coming out of them.
I think it's best to leave Bethesda in charge, they very much learnt a lot from 76 failures and 4's Pearl Harbour DLC shows that they have the developers to back a new Fallout game up, if 5 does ends up being a major disappointment and Outer Worlds 2 ends up being objectively better, I'd probably argue Obsidian taking over Fallout would be a possibility in this case.
Fact is- Obsidian has a terrible issue that has persisted for a long time, that is the fact they're too focused in more "linear" stories that came from Bioware, say, Mass Effect or Dragon Age (Origins ofc), but they don't have the gameplay or writing skills to back it up for long enough to keep the wheel going
New Vegas has an absolutely amazing introduction and the DLCs are mostly pretty great, but at the same time, that game is the least replayable Fallout out there and many things can slow my enjoyement of it down a lot, I love New Vegas but I haven't touched it in ages, if I want a Fallout experience I go for 3 or 4, I only give a retry at Vegas when I'm starved of RPGs.
Tyranny had a godlike introduction, the atmosphere captures you immediately and you get immediately grabbed into the world and its politics, it gets slower in the mid-section and the combat and dungeons starts to drag on but the writing is good enough to keep you engaged, but the final and third act of the game is total dogshit.
Outer Worlds is the same- The introduction is great but like...The atmosphere does remains great for most of the game but the plot crashes and burns early, you're going to try to get chemicals or a contact or whatever for the good ol' Doc but instead you end up involved in effectively the worst local politics out of all Obsidian games because of how much sheer bullshit you gotta do to get a favorable outcome and how most representatives from factions are either written as complete jokes or their factions are basically jokes, not to mention the reputation system ends being basically completely useless.
Also, a lot of people do bring up New Vegas was developed in 18 months and that's why its gameplay is bad but like...Their newer games haven't exactly improved too much, Outer Worlds gameplay is exactly the same as Fallout 4 quality wise if not worse, its perk system is one of the worst of its kind out there and it might just be me insisting on looks over functionality gear wise, but damn, companions are...Bad. Ignoring the fact they're mostly irrelevant writing wise, a dog in Dragon Age had more utility in battle than the average companion in there
Tyranny is legit one of the worst in its genre, you need to micro every single action in what is a real time combat and if you do that, it takes forever to beat a mercenary band without one of your characters getting a wound, and you never get enough skills or abilities with any character to be able to properly specialise, the skill ceiling is effectively too high to learn how to get good ands the four member party ends up being limiting because you never have enough companions to cover every aspect and making up for any gaps is often impossible because the only character which can do that is the main character, and there's a large can of worms in getting him to be effective because the game wants your main character to specialise in something too, and that wouldn't be bad if not for the fact the average combat involves your four gang fighting against three or more frontliners, one or two ranged fighters and wizards and you'll always be weak against oone of those elements. Frankly, I spent more time being bored fighting random bandits than enjoying the game's writing, I'm probably never touching it again unlike other games iof its kind.
I can't say a lot about Pillars of Eternity as I haven't played it but from my experience, but I don't see the current Obsidian being a large positive in a Fallout 5.

I believe Texas would try to form a nation like the NCR did, as Texas was it's own Republic for abit. Not to mention that California and Texas are two of the most powerful states in and of themselves. As to the rest of the South, I can see a 'Second Confederacy' forming, as even today, southerners have strong pride in their history, and some Pro-Confederacy groups still exist today. Some are white supremacists groups, but others simply believe that a Confederacy is needed, so you could have branching paths for this New Confederacy if it was to exist in Fallout, kinda like the split between the BoS, or the relationship between Eden and Autumn in the Capital Enclave.
(In addition, the Republic of Texas could end up in a war with the NCR as the NCR controls much of New Mexico, and the Republic of Texas back in the day wanted to annex New Mexico themselves).

I don't see the Enclave coming back as it's own faction, however I do still see them being around if they were absorbed into the NCR. If the NCR has done a sort of Operation Paperclip with the Enclave remnants. Giving them pardons, citizenship, and overlooking their bigotry in exchange for their tech, knowledge, and other resources. Maybe the NCR did do that and are just really good at keeping it quiet. It would make sense for the NCR to do this especially if they ever ran into the Eastern Brotherhood. Both the NCR and Enclave hate the Brotherhood and as the old saying goes, 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'

    • @SitcomedyCD
      @SitcomedyCD 3 года назад +6

I really, really like the idea of an NCR operation paperclip with enclave members. It's fitting. But I strongly believe Auld Lang Syne in New Vegas ought to be the last appearance of living enclave members in Fallout. It really seems like the only reason people want to see them in the story is because they think they're bad ass. But their story ended. Even their appearance as a major faction in Fallout 3 was just regurgitation of iconic material from other games, regardless of whether it would make sense. And clearly that decision carried the implication that the enclave could keep surviving, even if they got totally wiped out, because they already had once. But it doesn't make sense, especially with the worldbuilding of Fallout: New Vegas. The overarching narrative of Obsidian/Black Isle's Fallout games are clearly in direct conflict with what Bethesda writes. The enclave really ought to be dead. They already fucking died. It's not like they have vats of ideologically programmed clones ready to emerge and take on the cause of mutant genocide every thirty years. Of their survivors from Fallout 2, it makes the most sense, and the purpose of Gannon and Auld Lang Syne was to show, that enclave remnants and their offspring chose simply to forget about that era. They knew their mission was a total failure that lead to the faction's total annihilation and they have no will or means to continue that mission. They're a relic from the past of the new world, and narratively it's best they stay that way so we can get a new antagonist/faction with some effort put into it, instead of just bringing back the enclave for the third time. Caesar's Legion was fucking cool and their story is probably not totally over.
wrote too much but I was surprised to see how many fans here want the enclave to be big again. I think I would hate a new Fallout that does that for that reason alone.

Depending on how video game technology expands in the near future, a Fallout game encompassing the whole of the United States is not unimaginable. Something like the Crew 2 comes to mind where the US has been scaled down to a more compact size but is still quite massive. Of course, this Fallout game would have a lot more depth in the major cities unlike the Crew 2 where they are just large set pieces. I hope we get to see it one day
And like the story could be really cool. Like at the end you help one faction have national supremacy and the ending cutscene will mention if you helped a faction that learned the mistakes of the past and will lead humanity to a better future or a faction that will follow the footsteps of its predecessor and eventually plunge humanity into another apocalypse. Or an ending where you help neither, one where you take over with your own faction and one where you just destroy both and make humanity go extinct.

But I like to think that after the events of fallout 4 that a new CPG is installed into the commonwealth giving a form of government with the minute men being the military force something similar but not exactly like the NCR. I think that eventually after decades the Minuteman, brotherhood, NCR, and possibly the Enclave come at a crossroads. What that would result in is debatable as well. But until fallout 5 comes out we won’t know the fate of the commonwealth but then again we still have no idea what the cannon ending is for NV.

The Legion can only survive if it either continues to expand under good/solid leadership; or they collapse inward due to being over-focused on physical violence and not having a stable society outside of pure war.

A closer example is Sparta, at the end of their height. They had more slaves than citizens, and nothing but warrior hyper-focus as the goal. They rapidly collapsed inward and destroyed their culture. Just like the Legion would.
The only reason the Legion presented a threat was bad writing on the part of the developers. They had to put a complete imbecile in charge of the NCR military to create a weakness for the Legion to exploit. They knew, in-game, that there were tunnels under/through Hoover Dam. They decided that the NCR wouldn't even pour concrete down their, even though they had to ability to do so.

@@13shadowwolf Sparta only faded away because of massive population decline (even amongst slaves), combined with extremely stringent marriage and reproduction laws. Because of this, they couldn't leverage enough power over their neighbours and slowly faded into obscurity. They never "collapsed" or "lost their culture" until the Romans overran them.
Regarding your first point, The Legion IS well organised, they DO use guns, (once you prove yourself worthy of their use, of course), and they DO have civilian society outside their armies.
Regarding your last point, characteristics such as imbecility, incompetence and corruption are universal amongst ALL materialistic democracies, let alone those that develop in an apocalypse. To portray the NCR as hyper-competent and successfully militaristic would be absurd. These qualities are better suited to more Noble societies - the Legion, Brotherhood, etc.

@@TheOmegaInitiative that could be the case initially but a society in which the Minutemen are victorious could have more drastic consequences over time. For example you can resettle some refugee scientists from the Institute post game. Given time they’d likely assist in the technological development of the region. Considering how the Brotherhood treated the Enclave after Fallout 2, they may do the same with the Institute scientists if they are victorious.

Off on a little detour DLC is the Paradise wastes
8 little islands in the Pacific. 1 held by the communists. 1 by an enclave branch. 1 ruled at a distance by the last Queen. 1 warlord who controlled 2 islands. 2 independent islands ruled by their own tribes. And one island in the center being fought over by the royals, enclave, communists, and separatists.
All fighting for a little slice of paradise

But realistically with the NCR being a powerhouse desperate for land but with a great deal of buffer zones and defensible positions. I see them ultimately offering some long term solution of chaos to the order. The NCR may be unreliable but once you get the machine going it's hard to stop full scale mobilization. The west coast brotherhood learned that had NCR supply lines not been destroyed by the divide and the 80s the NCR would have won their war with the legion with ease.
