Doc Henry from the Enclave Remnants was a scientist specializing in canine cyber-genetics. We know he left before the oil rig was destroyed but I wonder if this research is an extension or continuation of the work he did with them decades prior.

No I think they need to stop being super villains who all have the same exact ideas and plans despite having no communication with each other. The Enclave doesn't need to be good, but it doesn't also need to be comically evil either. It's why I did liked fallout 3 and colonel Autumn's Enclave in a story way not like morally. It was still a pretty cutthroat and authoritarian faction but not like comically genocidal.

Something that a ton of commentators forget is that there are 13 Commonwealths in the Fallout universe. Also, it was stated, before the series even aired, that the airship that we see in the series isn't the Prydwin, but another of its type. These are important things to consider.
The series could be using the same Commonwealth as that of Fallout 4, but with a west coast focus, this is highly unlikely. Also, we know that Wilsig didn't travel on foot all of the way from the east coast. It makes far less sense for people to get word from the opposite coast about something in their own backyard.

    • @Jaysin412

But the prydwin itself is NOT prewar. So no. The prydwin was built by the brotherhood following the broken steel dlc for fallout 3. My guess (considering 76 lore) is that post destruction of raven rock what ever is left of the enclave and its command structure are possibly split up into smaller cells around the US (and potentially parts of Baja and Canada). I’d imagine these smaller act largely independently of one another, receiving only scant supplies/directives from whatever central command exists.

Also would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Synths to the West Coast.

you do realize that bud's specific plans were only for the 3 vaults. 31 32 33. right? bud is also a junior vice president. and therefore would not have the power within vault-tec to "betray" the enclave. what ever that even means, considering that the goal of the enclave is exactly what they discuss in the meeting in the tv show. experiment on unsuspecting people, though the enclaves reason for doing so, is a bit different then the pitch that is being sold to these "pre war" companies here.
the enclave wants the companies to experiment on vault dwellers, because they want to use the resulting research data to build a space ship. capable of sending people into the stars and colonize other planets.
the vaults are meant to test an isolated population under a number of conditions the residents of the vaults do not expect. like vaults filled with people of wildly differing political believes, vaults where people are genetically modified to withstand harsh environments, not for the wasteland, but for other planets. vaults where there are unexpected "malfunctions" in critical systems, vaults that use "alternate" means of leadership.
its all a grand experiment for the enclaves idea, of colonizing other planets. so they can see what might possibly happen if humans had to say, live for generations on a colony ship. or, had to be frozen for long long periods of time.
unbeknownst to the companies doing the experiments who believe they are playing the great game of capitalism. rather then providing the enclave with the data they need.

I don't really get it. The brotherhood maybe not as much, seeing as most of the Midwest and Eastern chapters generally provide enough numbers to keep them "relevant".
The Enclave though, they're basically an endangered/effectively excitinct species. I see so many people hypothesizing about other bunkers and bases that really doesn't make much sense.
The Enclave were a prewar shadow government. They are not some expansive segment of the US government/military. They were extremely selective, even before the war. Tech giants, CEOs, elite of the elite military personnel and staff, and select few government officials. They were the organization that pulled the strings of the most powerful aspects of the prewar US. They did not have even the brotherhood's numbers.
The oil rig was HQ. I'm done with people talking about "oh it was just one of many bases, prolly not that important lol hehe". The oil rig was the last fossil fuel producing site on the planet, packed full of the most advanced hardware and assets of the prewar world. The fucking president himself lived on it. Just the rig being blown up dealt a critical blow to the Enclave. Then Navarro, their largest forward staging base, raven rock, the air field base, all crushed and exterminated.
Not just for the numbers of enclave we have killed (which their weren't many to begin with), but the raw assets they have lost. The Enclave's biggest threat was their ability to continually crank out the most advanced technology in the wasteland. They damn near wiped the continent out in Fallout 2 just from their research on the oil rig. They still nearly wiped out the capital wasteland in 3 from a single bunker, and STILL had orbital strike capabilities in the DLC.
From where the games left off at, the Enclave have had both their numbers and their greatest assets ground into dust. And while this is mostly head-canon, I believe if the Enclave has any last trump cards up their sleeve, they would've played them already during any of the games.
They're done. They may not be utterly exterminated, but their role in the wasteland as a front-line villain is in the past. Which sucks, I loved the Enclave's narrative in Fallout.
Bethesda is like the kid playing war with their action figures. They always revive their favorite character to show up at the end.

I still think it’s kind of a stretch to claim that the brotherhood ending is the canon ending for fallout 4…I’m still banking on the predetermined player character “Nate/Nora” ultimately siding with the Minutemen, rebuilding the Commonwealth with the start of the small settlements and bringing some form of localized government to the area. Obviously, in the settlement building feature of the game, you can add vendors which helps with the local economy, not to mention the supply lines you can establish. Overall, I think this ending makes the most sense, also I would like to believe that the player character “Nate/Nora” Establish some type of peace treaty with the brotherhood of steel and the railroad. Which the minutemen
probably absorbed the railroad partially to have some form of spy network. Also allowing the brotherhood of steel to maintain control over the Boston airport and probably allowing them to maintain control of Fort strong. While Diamond City gets absorbed by the Minutemen acting as the major city and trading hub for the Commonwealth.

I think they’re in Big MT because of the clearly subterranean facilities in a mountain range with trains
I want it to be canon that the pre-war US was a lot more advanced and the world being so poor the U.S. government being the only ones able to afford it would be hoarding it and the Enclave “inherited” it all to explain their self-sufficiency. I mean their power armor is meant to be worn by everyone and even at that scale they could not afford to do that but they can and the pre-war U.S. government seemed equally capable just corrupt.

I also think the tests were probably going on for a long long time before the show which would explain that breed of dog appearing in all the games completely un-mutated. I think it stands to reason that a few of the pups manages to escape or were released for whatever reason and that’s why we see a dogmeat in every game (not the same dog just the same family/ from the same facility)

This makes a lot of sense since they only have the resources to train dogs and still undergo minor fev research after almost 200 years of the same research… the only thing that makes sense is this enclave base must have been extremely isolated and probably was forced to be, they likely only some have only x01 power armour IF ANY, they could have saved all survivors from Navarro ect but might not have known anything about that or were forced not to? ect but it literally seems like it could be a pre war enclave facility everything they are doing in the show is exactly the same as was they knew back then and nothing has changed. The soldier is wearing old American military police uniform and it just seems like they are completely on their own and have little to no external resources or secret post war knowledge so are just working with what they have, this includes cold fusion btw. I was not expecting something so poor from the 2290s enclave like why are there no intelligent deathclaws like they had 50+ years ago, this time to finally master, but simple trained dogs are of importance?
