      1. Vegas not being lit up (or even it’s lights just not being visible) during the daylight is hardly proof that the city is completely in ruins.
      2. The art at the end credits is clearly just concept art, not actual canon. Like we see the brotherhood’s airship completely destroyed in one of the episodes’ end credits for example. We see multiple things destroyed in the end credits of various episodes that never actually get destroyed in the show. Vegas may be no different.

Maybe the BOS were indirectly involved in retaliation for what happened to their Mojave chapter and we do see Maximus being saved by a knight after Shady Sands was wiped out raising questions about them being there at that time.

One thing that actively weirded me out is that Repconn has its own seat at the table, despite the fact that Mr. house had bought and fully owned Repconn by that point (2075 is when he bought the company) so either this meeting took place before that and I missed it or I am right and it was just an oversight. It seems like alot of fairly important yet 'minor' lore details were actively ignored in the production of this series, IE Sinclair's appearance and him being in charge of Big MT? Sure he definitely recruited them to build the suits, the vending machines and the rust- but it was fairly blatant that the entire thing was essentially just Big MT manipulating him into using his casino as a testing grounds their horrific experiments. One more thing, Big MT only became a crater post war if memory serves because Klein atomized the top of the mountain in a failed experiment.

People are talking about the apparent resilience of ghouls and their 'new' thing where they're 'all going feral' but people aren't realising that this wasteland seems to be by far the most irradiated one we've seen outside the glowing sea or far harbour. The regeneration and decay of higher function is entirely consistent with the claims that the surface is still highly irradiated.
This is however, hinged on the somewhat unclear assumption that radiation over time is in fact still dangerous to ghouls in massive doses, backed by things like the Camp Searchlight attack that turned all but one guy into ferals, and Necropolis research on the process of Ghoulification.
I believe that wasteland doctor gave the fleeing Squire a dose of whatever Hancock, Desmond, Skinny Malone and others used to turn themselves ghoul.

    @bubblelord3481 2 месяца назад +2

From my viewing of the show, I think the following happened at least in relation to the events of the bombing:
    1. Vault-Tec began their conspiracy and began orchestrating things. Each member either joined (Big Mountain via WestTek) or used the organization (such as House).
    2. Vault-Tec had been in the middle of laying all the groundwork and got crucial infrastructure prepared due to the planning window.
    3. The Enclave (the government insiders who were using the companies) finished their preparation and likely began the war ahead of schedule (this explains multiple Vault-Tec vaults that were never finished not because of planning but because of the abruptness of the war).
    4. Ultimately, this is also why House planned independently; he knew this plan was doomed to fail as per the folly of man's own greed and desire to be in charge (Enclave wanted America, Vault-Tec wanted to be a ruling COMPANY, see Bud's wordings in all of this for why this is different ideas)
The most likely ending of Vegas definitely seems to be aligned with House Always Wins or Yes Man so far; this is because we see Securitrons in the street alongside NCR equipment. And no, it's not because they fought, IMO, but that he allied with the NCR.
What do you think happens when the Brotherhood of the East Coast finds out their chapter was wiped out in Vegas and their number-one enemy (the NCR) is now working together with a technological superpower? It's obvious the NCR forces likely fought to protect the Strip alongside the Securitrons and were beaten or driven into a bad state by the Brotherhood or something along these lines. The Brotherhood clearly are the ruling super power of this era of Fallout with not only the ability to send someone across America but the ability to send large amounts of forces alongside the Prydwyn.
Ultimately, it's likely House survived in some way but will be a shadow of his potential power because Vegas at minimum was sacked/attacked. If they kill him off, though, it'll likely turn into Hank finding the tools to reboot the Securitrons as an army for Vault-Tec, as a final insurance policy left by House so his efforts aren't totally in vain (such as the creation of Yes Man).

I think the only way the games make sense in the context of the show is if the player character died instantly after the player gained control in each of them. This would preclude and decanonize Fallout 2 entirely though, because it required that the Vault Dweller survived the events and was exiled (which makes sense given the presence of the Enclave).
Benny stole the chip and murdered the Courier instead of wounding them, but what was Benny's plan after that?
We know that the NCR had ground troops in New Vegas. We know the walls were breached. We know that the securitrons took casualties.
We do not know the state of the NCR or the disposition of Caesar's Legion. We know Lucky 38 appears intact so because the Courier never breached it (assuming they were murdered in Goodsprings), its defenses are probably still functional. The Super Mutants with the help of the Master may have rolled through and destroyed the Hub, and then died out due to sterility, so the NCR may not even exist anymore.
Season 2 is not even written yet, so the end scenes won't help and may even be altered after there's a script, but I'd say it's most likely that as far as the West Coast is concerned, the Courier didn't succeed (thus preserving the player's agency in NV), and the chip remained in Benny's control.
I am confident in saying that what we'll see in S2 is the story that followed Benny's (at least temporary) success. Maybe he was exploded by the Boomers when trying to make contact, and the chip with him. It was the encounter with the not-dead Courier that prompted Benny to seek to infiltrate the Legion camp. I think we can safely assume the chip is destroyed, since Caesar's Legion hasn't made its way to the coast.

This entire finale got my lore gears turning so fast, it's great.
NCR being out of the region (As can be surmised by the crashed NCR vertibird) makes sense, since even if they won the second battle of Hoover Dam, they massively lack in manpower due to the Shady Sands one of their biggest population centers being nuked. If the Legion won they would have probably upkept the Vegas area at least somewhat, and we don't see their usual trappings there. But the Yes Man and House endings probably also didn't happen, since if either one of them got control over the Mojave area, the Strip wouldn't be in such a sorry state.
So my current theory is that while NCR won the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, they were already stretched thin in the game, and with Shady Sands nuked it just wasn't worth it to keep the area beyond the dam. They probably retreated up north (Or to Vault City/The Hub) to regroup, leaving the Mojave to fend for itself. Courier didn't kill House, but did disable his access to the Lucky 38 systems, which explains how Hank would still be able to meet him, and why the Strip itself is in such a sorry state. Courier is (and probably will be) holed up in Big MT, cause while they have access to miracle technologies, they're just a single person, and without the backing of a major faction they can't save the entire Mojave by themselves.

What will his daughter feel when she sees him? Not just that he is a ghoul, but the person he has become to survive 200 years in the wasteland. And how will his wife react knowing she is kinda responsible for it? I just keep thinking about how, in the first episode, he is at the birthday party and sees the bomb go off after he listened in on a meeting where his wife is laying out a plan to cause the apocalypse. The lore continuity is one of the things that that holds Fallout together, which is why it's so important. But the thing about game lore is that it's only limited by your imagination. I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just pointing it out so we can all get this one thing; When you are collectively making up a story everybody has to agree on the rules, but fiction is fiction. It's all made up, and that's why we have retcons. Ret-Con is short for retro continuity. I predict lots of it now that the Amazon Prime show is out. It will be interesting to listen to the rationalizations people will argue work.
Do I have a wish list for Season 2 of Fallout? Yup. I'd love to see a shootout between The Ghoul and Raul Tejada. I bet Danny Trejo would be up for it. Also I'd like to see what happened to the Yas Man Securitron. Is he running New Vegas or what? And While Mr. House may be dead or not, he my yet survive in A.I. form. Sadly René Auberjonois is no longer with us, but there are plenty of voice samples to synthesize his voice.

Maybe, House managed to win with the couriers help in Fallout New Vegas. After General Lee Oliver fled back to Shady Sands, he mentioned he'd be back in force and said "Don't be treading on the bear." Aka: I'm very angry and will be back soon, The NCR did dump a lot of economic power into the hover Dam at this point. Kimball/General Lee Oliver then roused a large strike force of the NCR to hit the New Vegas area, among other areas of the Mojave. This would be a final ditch effort to save face and his presidency for Kimball/Oliver
With Mr. House battling the NCR. Mr. House would then weigh his options and finally decide to play another ace in the hole. He had the courier on his side if we assume Mr. House ending, and also possible orders by Hank/Vault Tech at this time. With the goal to flatten the NCR. NCR at this point was fully committing to attack New Vegas. This would be a good time to strike with their moral extremely low and forces busy with house, famine on the way, and them being over stretched territory wise.
This would then allow the courier to slip into the divide and launched a nuke on Shady Sands around the year 2281-2282. I wouldn't be surprised if more nukes were lobbed at all major NCR manufacturing and or population centers based in California. This may retcon a bit of the Lonesome Road DLC. But so be it. Due to the insane battle/result. The NCR would nearly be wiped out on all fronts due to several nukes on all their major settlements. Thus killing most of their government. New Vegas would be torn apart during the battle, Mr. House would need to repair the Hover Dam most likely. You can't forget an aggressive Caesars Legion still operating in the area. We also have Tunnelers and Death Claws who may have been roused by all the fighting as well. Who says the Death Claws don't stomp into a unguarded New Vegas. Mr. House at this point, overestimated his capabilities and has to hide in the Lucky 38 as New Vegas crumbled. The NCR is battered to a point of no return and just dissolved in the years to follow. The Brotherhood of Steel would be cheering in their bunkers and then leave and contact the East Coast Chapter telling them all that happened. And you can almost come to the current scenario that we see in the Show. With a few others touch ups being needed.
2277 was the year the NCR started to tunnel vision into the Mojave, losing focus of what they were. Aka starting their decline.
But who really knows. Just something I came up with on the spot.

Potential plot hole correct me if I'm missing something. If the vault tec execs had had technology to cryo themselves perfectly and return to life whenever they like, why didn't Mr House just do that as well? Seems better than being stuck in a tube and only talking through a screen.

it seems more in character for House to be constantly connected to is network and to life support. being frozen preserves you until your set to wake up, but in the meanwhile you aren't able to make any decisions. and the man is a control freak. besides, after you're unfrozen you still have a normal human lifespan; and House's machinations needed centuries to come to fruition.

I'm pretty sure House said that his securitrons wouldn't be enough to take the full brunt of an NCR invasion, even upgraded. For the small contingent that was in the Mojave circa 2281, yes, but not if the entire NCR military was targetting him and Vegas. He didn't need them to, because he didn't wish to go to war with the NCR as it would damage his property and profits.
It's entirely possible, likely even, that a few years following House forcing the NCR out of the Mojave, the NCR launches a full invasion of Vegas in an attempt to claim it by force from House. With the full force of the NCR, including whatever Armored Vehicles and Air Force they had at the time, I doubt House's securitrons, upgraded or not, would be able to hold back the tide for long.

I’m extremely curious about what the Enclave are up to and have a strong theory as to what they’ll cook up.
After looking at the super mutant corpse, the fact doc escaped the enclave facility on foot and that there are MANY dogs being bred, I’m beginning to think that the Enclave might be creating mutant hounds using the master’s method of mutating pure DNA rather than irradiated dna. When they create these mutant hounds, they find out the pure dogs mutate into more intelligent beasts than the east coast mutant hounds. Since there’s nightkin in this region, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were nightkin hounds created from this project, perhaps even cyber mutant hounds since the enclave have research on cyber dogs and Frank Horrigan.

@@TheHonoredMadman I can definitely see cyberdogs for sure. As for mutant hounds, I still lean hard on that considering Enclave had devices that made Deathclaws obey orders, which I strongly believe would go more smoothly with mutant hounds. I still see cyber mutant hounds being part of the project still for some hounds that didn’t mutate the best completely or injured, requiring cybernetics installed, which I’m sure is much easier a case to deal with than Frank Horrigan.

Seeing that Super Mutant hand in the beginning of EP.2 has gotten me stirred for the last week. I wonder if The Enclave will weaponize the FEV and disperse it into the atmosphere like they previously attempted.
On another note, I believe Vault-Tec did a limited Nuclear strike on both China and the US to force their hands and engage in armageddon.
