Correct mutation breeding tldr. 1. Get max lvl dinos with high single stats (not necessary but saves time) 2. Breed all stats into 1 male and as many females as you want. 3A. Breed untill you get a stat mutation you want. ie hp/melee. 3B. If you get a female breed it with the male until you make a male with the mutation. 4. Use new male with the old female line and breed until you get the number of mutations you want for a single stat females should always be unmutated. Reason for this is you can get the max lvl for each stat before lvling the dino . 5. Combine all stat mutation lineages together for super dinos.
Umm might wanna revise the video and the information given.😮 To be more specific I am talking about the part where you explain mutation stacking. For example if 1 raptor has a melee mutation and the other has 2 melee mutations, they will not make 3 melee mutes. The game will either role the stat with the parent with 2 or the parent with 1.
Going to be Rex breeding very soon so this helped with understanding the mechanic! Want a nice powerful one for fighting the bosses (on single player). Going to get the Oviraptors bred first for that egg collection range.
Its not 'showing up passively', that is misinformation. Arks just been reskinned, so if youre getting a stat mut and no obvious color mut, then the color mut was applied to a region in the animal that does not get 'used'. ALSO, if you breed twins with a mut, your baby will have the stats the parents have. It will never, ever, 'add' an extra mutation ontop of it. The only way this can happen is if you get a lucky mut roll, assuming the parents are not mutation capped. Yea your breeding knowledge is NOT as good as youre claiming it is. Too much incorrect information.
I’m busy breeding Therizinos.. got base dinos with same stats and got first colour mutation of black feathers edges. But weird thing I saw is a stat increase on one baby after base breeding didn’t increase level and didn’t show mutation number change from zero but the stamina definitely increased from base!
6:25 i pretty sure you can't combine 2 mutations of the same stat (unless things changed) the things that get inherited form parents are the number of levels in a stat, and the number of mutations on each side of the ancestry
This is why its important to have 0 stats before you start rapid mutation breeding. if you know you have 0's in the unwanted stats then you don't need to worry about it anymore.
I love ARK despite it's buggy laggy blue screen frustating at times you gotta admit it's such a clever concept and beautiful game the way eveerything works a great game a lot of time.. but it's fun.
Has anyone figured out what wildcard meant when they said "each dino has been given it's own multiplier"? Are you breeders seeing more points per mutation than in ASE?
@@JoeCulv89 it depends there is maybe some dinos that never where breed that can be usefull now but i dont see ppl making boss dodos or things like that im console player so i cant even play right now we gonna have to wait for more info (but tbh i dont think meta will change when it comes to dinos)
9:46 So the mutation tracker doesnt always correctly tell you how many mutations you have and even though it might say 20/20 you could still get a mutation? Just wondering because I have a megalosaurus that says I have 18/20 but I only count 8 total mutations.
I thought when breeding you just get a chance to get the stat from either parents while it keeps the mutations...that's how it always worked in ASE. So if you were trying to get a mutated melee, with a non mutated melee and you got the non mutated it'd still keep the mutated points. That's just how it always worked. Then you'd kill the cull that one, because it was just going to stunt your line. I mean it's similar to how you try to breed the good stats from each dinosaur and that's why the level is going up or down depending on how much point value the dinosaur got. So if it had 30 points in all it's stats you'd combined those 30 points to get its level.
yup i still DONT understand how you get all the same stats because i been either getting 10 level up or 10 level down but no mutation on stats except the stats decrease because rn im doing it all over again to find a new pair to breed
im hearing alot about mutations but you dident actualy show us how to see / tell / find mutations. I still have no idea where to find them or see what has one. Also, this makes it seem alot simpeler than it is. It takes literal DAYS of work to fully mature a baby...
2 main differences. On ase you kept your female line clean and once you hit 20 mutations on pat side your chance of mut went down because only the female side could mutate. Now it seems you can clean your male side by taking a clean male and breeding it with a 20 mut female to transfer all mutations over with only a mutation counter of 1. Allowing you to affectively increase your chances of popping mutations once again. ( I could be wrong on this, just something i thought I noticed.) Main change is the fact that wild stats are tracked separately from mutated stats meaning you can start breeding immediately and transfer mutations over once you are able to find better wild stats. No need to spend countless hours searching and taming to find the best.
so does it matter what the lvl is. and if you put upgrades into it. so if i tame a 120 and start lvl it as much as i can and then breed it with one similer will it be weaker than a 145 or 150 tame or can i just get a baby and lv that again the 60 lvl and then breed it again and lvl till it hits max lvl then breed the stats. and if i upgrade a parents health like 5k extra will the baby get them levels or is it just the base stats. im kinda confused if i should try breeding stuff that like lvl 110 120 or wait till i get 145 150
i do not know if its just me but the male i had for rex's in survival ascended had a melee mutation so im like perfect threw that kid in their the next gen of eggs did not have the mutation but the baby still said it had 1/20 mutations????? what is that mean im confused the base ark wasnt at least to me no where near this confusing/bad
So im just now watching this but please save my life here, did the imprinting bonus disappear? I have an imprinted thyla, to me, and i raced my friend they are bred so i know what they should have at what percentage and they are doing the same damage too and i cant see the imprint buff in the top right? I know movement speed is no longer adjustable but I would have figured the buff as a whole would be there for the rider. Right now it seems it only effect stats?
This is a bit of a longshot here, but in the ini file the imprint bonus to the rider can be enabled or disabled. Maybe it got disabled in your game somehow. If you are on official I'm not sure what would have caused your problem, though.
Honestly this is so simmilar to breeding rats IRL. Often a pairng will not produce the color on the rat you want so you have to shuffle around who is breed to who to figure out the best for the bloodline.
On ASE can you breed a mutation into a higher stat? Ex: Female has melee mutation and you tame a male that ends up with a higher melee than the original breeders can you breed the melee mutation onto the higher melee from the new male
This from what i’ve seen is the only real change in asa, it nows tracks muts separately so you can start breeding sooner you don’t need the best wild stats you can find to start. Just start.
So, if I have this figured out, upgrading breeding dinosaurs doesn't help improve the offspring. Might as well ignore the option to level up your breeders and leave them at their stats after hatching. Also, it takes a lot of breeding to see an improvement, or mutation in the offspring, which means a lot of eggs from the same parents. So, in short, not a few days of breeding, but more likely many weeks of attempts to get a better baby.

Is there any point of color mutations when you can simply paint dinos?
But that’s cheating
like actually painting them? with paint?
What abt minimizing stats that aren't needed like taming low levels with for ex 3 points in oxygen is that good to try to breed in or a waste of time
u need that in the later stages when ur dinos reach cap lvl. u can to it before but depending on your tribe it doesnt rwally matter
