    So in simplified terms you still want to start with a clean father and mother with identical stats to increase the likelihood of rolling the mutation stat. Then you keep the females and only use a mutated male in the stat you want. Just like in ASE. The difference is if you find a better wild stat after you started your Mutation line you can add it in without having to start all over.

So if i accidentally get a mutation on lets say early game rexs that i decided to breed just to have an early fully imprinted rex, and that mutation is lets say melee. I just save that guy for my late game boss rexs and breed the mutation from early game rexs into the late game rexs. It doesnt matter if early game rexs have lower melee the mutation it will still affect late game rexs higher melee. If im understanding that correctly this changes the game completely!!!! OMG!!!!!

  • @DirtyMike7
    @DirtyMike7 9 месяцев назад +6

    This makes upper end breeding easier. After you get 20 into health and 20 into melee combine them onto a male and continue breeding with an army of clean females. Even though the paternal side will say 40/20 mutations if the females are clean you can still pick up mutations from the mothers side it’s just much lower odds of picking up a mutation and it being in the stat you want. But having the go and melee mutation counter on one Dino makes getting a favorable mutation twice as likely. The mutation counter is all that really matters. You can put the mutation counter onto your good base stat later.

    • @BronkieTV
      @BronkieTV 9 месяцев назад

      have they changed the mutation counter entirely? with some mods and tek you can get anything to god levels using just a mutated male and clean females, Tek and mod breeding options ovi make this massively easier. In the modded world where we have awesome spyglass we had these tools before. WE can get up to255 mutation sin a single stat, like dmg for instance. IF you force another mutation and it pick it up into that line sending the DMG to 256 mutations it breaks, no worky, and stat wont even level often getting reset to 0 but only for the dmg %not the stat. SO we theorize that with 32 bit going to 64 we might be able to breach that number. Over all it seem like nothing has changed except the %55 chance to inheris used to be on the females i think, but i could be wrong. DONT BREED MUTATED FEMALES TO MUTATED MALES, it just garbles up your mutation counter twice as fast.

    • @DirtyMike7
      @DirtyMike7 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@BronkieTV I’ve breed on S+ with the mutator as well and gotten Dino’s to 254 in all stats. It took a couple days but wasn’t too hard. If it’s an odd stat and you take it to 255 then it also “breaks” the stat and you’re unable to apply level ups to that stat. 254 or 253 are the stopping points.

    • @DirtyMike7
      @DirtyMike7 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@BronkieTV it is important to not breed mutated females with mutated males. However, once you get 20 mutations into a stat (0/40/0) the mutation can no longer happen on the side that has the full 20/20 counter. At that point you could combine your (HP 0/40/0) with your (melee 0/40/0) and have that be the new male. Then you could breed that with an army of clean females to continue getting mutations into hp or melee but if you have them both combined then youre much less likely to have a new mutation land in an undesirable stat. Alternatively you could just keep them separate because constantly combining them would get annoying pretty quickly.

  • @Ryxbar

    The biggest thing I learned here, as a fairly experienced Ark player, is that the Stat and the Mutation can roll separately, even on the same statistic (which led to that surprise level 1 offspring). Had no idea that's how it worked, thanks Teach!

    I think this was more of a guide on breeding in general then a guide on whats new in ASA. The only pertinent new information was about 5 seconds of info at 36:38
    sadly there was not much anything new in this video regarding breeding in ASA vs. ASE... Fast Forward to 23:48 for the only difference... which.. if you want the TLDR version of it then fast forward to 36:38
    Basically.. you can add bred stat mutations onto any dino at any time.. so if you tame a dino with higher level base stats then your breeding dinos.. you can breed with the new dino to add those base stats into the lineage and the mutation stats will stack onto the new base stats.

    So you need to get 20 mutations from both sides in your chosen stat to make it 40 in total put those 40 into a male and then breed that with fresh females to reset the the line to then get 60 mutations into a male again to then breed with fresh females to then be able to get 80 and reapeat that over and over? Is that right?

    • @ryanrodgers3099
      @ryanrodgers3099 9 месяцев назад +2

      Sort of. You *can* do that, but you can also breed a male with 4 "clean" females (no mutations whatsoever) forever. The baby can get mutations as long as one side (m/f) has mutation slots available, so it doesn't matter if the father is at or above 20 mutations, it can still get mutations from the mother's side. The baby also only "looks" at it's direct parents, so your breeding male can have mutations from both sides, the baby will only "see" the total mutations on the father. In this way, you breed the male with clean females until you get the mutation you want on a male. Replace your breeding male and repeat.
      The 20/20 then stack method works, but it's hard to keep organized. Much easier to stick with 4 clean females and 1 "upgrading" male. It theoretically takes more breeding "cycles" than the 20/20 then stack method, but you're using the optimal f:m ratio the entire time instead of trying to hatch out 4 females with your exact stats and mutations every round.

We need the ability to see the stats to get to the final boss, not to get it from the final boss. This is totally stupid. You should always see dinos stats without any tools. Ok so let me see if im understanding this correctly. We can mutation breed like normal, get to 20 mutations for health, melee, and stamina, we breed those stats together to get an offspring with 20 health, 20, melee, and 20 stamina for a total of 60 mutations.
    And then one day when let's say genesis 2 comes out and we get access to mutagen. We find a wild dino that had a better stat in say health than the one we initially used for breeding. We can then boost that wild dino with mutagen then breed it together with the fully mutated dino and those stats will carry over to the mutagen boosted offspring but not the mutation number?

  • @Ibsmokin
    @Ibsmokin 9 месяцев назад +11

    I don’t have the game but you could always breed well beyond 40 mutations on ase if you kept your female line clean. I assume they haven’t changed that. The main change I see is you can start mutating early game on any level creature and once you find a better wild stat you can add those mutations to it where you couldn’t in ase. 40 minute video to explain that?

    • @seb3sec
      @seb3sec 9 месяцев назад +2

      Also don't have the game yet, and I also haven't found any evidence that supports or contradicts my thesis. But I have a feeling that this extra mutation stat change might have put an end to infinite mutation stacking. Making it an extra stat gives them the capability to limit this insane breeding.
      Example, UNCONFIRMED theory, and I really -hope I'm- am wrong:
      In ASE we were able to get mutations as a "+2" bonus on any stat, if one of the parents was below the 20 max mutations. So if I got lucky, I got a +2 health mutation from the mother on the already 20-times mutated father health stat, making it 22.
      In ASA, now that mutations are an extra stat, it can choose to either take the 20 mutations from the father (which does not mutate anymore), or it takes the 0 mutations from the clean mother (which has the chance to mutate, making it 2). That would mean I can no longer accumulate more than 20 mutations on a single stat.
      I've seen quite a lot mutation guides that chew through all the basics we already know, but no guides that explore those truly interesting limits.

What happened was the baby did not receive any mutations from the level 5. It just inherited the parents mutations. It did receive one from the level 3. The baby will always inherent the mutation number from the parents. If the horse had received a mutation from the level 5 horse it would say it had a total of 5 mutations not 4.

Heck, I'm on a 17in laptop and even at full screen I have to put my face right to the screen. Zoom please. Love the vids, keep up the great work and you will be at 100k in NO TIME!

    18:35 The reason you have 4 mutations, but 3 stat increases is because you breed a horse with 2 mutations with a horse with 1 mutation and added another mutation on top of it, so it adds the amount of mutations from the two parents plus 1 in the ancestry page. However it actually only has 1 health mutation, 1 oxygen mutation, and 1 food mutation. This is improper breeding please don't breed mutated creatures together.

      Question. Is the reason for what you said because theres a max amount of stat points for mutations? Similar to how we dedicated levels to certain stats? For example, if i had a hp mutation and then got a food mutation on the next offspring, that food mutation would deduct further stat increases in other stats? Im asking because I dont know for sure. I know theres numbers on each side but I dont understand the breakdown exactly, where it allows mutations on both sides, paternal and maternal.

    • @dustins7259

      @@zachbinx5230 Yes you only get 20 mutations on each side after that no increase in stats. You don't want to waste your mutations on wasted stats.

    so in your video I noticed you said you can never have more than 2 points in mutations at one time. However, we just bred 2 identical parents 2 anky. Both were level 248 with the same stats the baby actually came out at 252 with and increase in weight and stamina at the same time. Apparently this is a new thing that has been added to ASA.

    So let's say you have Level 190 20/20 mutations stacked you breed that with a wild dino level 150 0/0 mutations all high stats and mutations carry over and get a mutation the offspring will end up 192 and have 0/1 mutations or 1/0 mutations but carry those 20/20 mutations from the parents is this what your saying

    • @Durrtyboy
      @Durrtyboy 9 месяцев назад

      @xxtinktinkxxx6887 are you sure I watched a breeding video long time ago you should only breed dinos for mutations after all the stats are the exact same then you want like 6 to 12 females and look for a male with your mutation selected like hp then you keep breeding for hp mutations only and get them on a male so 1 stack replaced by 2 replaced by 3 so on to 20 this will make your male side all 20 hp mutations and 0 from the female side then you select another male with dmg mutation and repeat up to 20 again and then breed for a female to pass the mutations onto so the female has the 20 stack dmg mutation and then you breed the 20 hp male with the 20 dmg female and you should have 20 from the male tree and then 20 from the female making it 20/20 and then you breed that for a male and a female and then all should have those stats

    • @Drakarue
      @Drakarue 9 месяцев назад +3

      @davidstuck1671 you are technically right but you can breed past the 40 mutations. When you get your melee stat up to the 20/0 mutations. You can keep going past that but you can no longer get a mutation from the male side. So to get a mutation now technically takes twice as long as only the female can give a mutation. So eventually you could get a baby male Dino with a 20/1 stat in melee and then when you breed it with a 0/0 female and get another melee mutation it will technically be 21/1 mutations on that male and then you can keep going from there as the next time you get a melee mutation from the female side and it’s a baby male it will then be 22/1 and then you can keep going infinitely or until you reach the max level that server lets you have your Dino’s at

    Ok I'm new to all this breeding stuff so can someone confirm that at the start of breeding you now dont need to worry about the level of dinos as you are now just concentrating on the mutation number so you could get a level 20 and a level 55 and breed them but just concentrate on the mutation counter only?
    This high mutated number dino will then be bred with the dino with high stat levels when you find one thus ending up with a high level in certain stat/high mutation level in same stat dino?
    Now if this is correct how exactly does the mutation number work on the new dinos stats? Does it mean that the stat will be boosted by a % of each mutation level on that stat?
    i.e if health of the high level stat dino was 1000 and you get 5% per mutation boost and you breed it with a dino with 50 mutation levels in health it would get 5% of 1000 x 50 = 1250 health dino?
    Thanks

    Teach I'm gonna need you to be more concise in your scripts. Also review your scripts to make sure they make sense. It's fine to break things into simple language but you really ought not talk down to your audience. You didn't give a highlight on the differences between the two differences all you did was rehash how it worked in the previous version and got it wrong to boot. Your verbiage is also confusing what's a guaranteed mutation, cause to me at least it sounds like you mean that it's going to mutate. Normally your videos are better written and I enjoy watching them, this one needed another read through.
