i really wish wildcard would let stegos have the ability to host dimorphs on their scales so they can be like an aircraft carrier.
or in general let dimorphs hang on the side of dinos the bigger the dino the more it can have, would make brontos kinda funny.
Also teach you may have forgotten to mention that the otter also carries artifacts, still the only creature other than players that can carry not just one but multiple artifacts at a time
Is there a bug or did something change? I'm only able to put 1 artifact in my otter
You cant put 2 artifacts of the same kind in it like your own inventory but he can carry all artifact when they are different.
@@seanclarkrealtyheightsyyou can put 1 of each Artifact in an Otter
@@ronny22906
T
I don't know bout ASA but on ase you can put multiple artifacts of the same kind in the otters inventory, they probably changed it for ASA
It's worth mentioning you can shoot off the back of a Tapejara, carry a passenger and strafe as well.
They are just a bit more tricky to tame.
I think it even has 3 seats 😮
@@Paxulgekyep, they got a front and a back seat on their saddle.
Hold down the mount button and you can pick which seat you want, great for having a friend who wants to snipe without the dino model in the way
And it can land on walls can’t it?
I could be wrong but I thought I remembered that from extinction
In solo play the extra seats is redundant but the ability to shoot tranqs while flying makes it essential for taming quetz (without wierd trap techniques)
@@kimilini4814 Yup. It gets a bit picky about how "wall" the wall counts as, but it can attach (and recover stamina) on a wall, cliff, or other vertical. (Although, shooting enemies from this position can get tricky)
on the equus, it's also passive tameable with berries or carrots, so it's an easy first tame. It's also the lasso mount, so you can lasso people out of holes or just haul them along with you to escape stuff, and you can pull knocked-out wilds out of the water or into your base for taming :) And the equus saddle converts it to a mortar and pestle that can use the entire inventory of the horse. So, a 300 slot mortar and pestle for set-it-and-forget-it grinding of mass quantities.
One of the best early tames imo.
Even more amazing when Scorched Earth comes with adobe tier of structures, as the Equus gets something like a 90% weight reduction on sand - used for making the clay that's part of making adobe.
I feel like the baryonyx deserves some light
barys are not underrated though. Loads of people use them as they are great caving mounts and also have good utility in pvp.
Barys are used constantly, they’re arguably the most touted caving mount in the game.
Agreed!
love these guides and as a noob im learning a lot.
Would love to see some videos about passive skills for all tames! (stuff like how the iguanadon cant give you seeds)
Teach love your videos man, you should do a series on Dino’s, like each video can be on 1 specific Dino or something going through where to find them how they act in the wild, when fighting them what to look out for, how to take them, when tamed what the benefits are for over/pvp, what they eat how to level them. Things like that! Keep up the good work my guy 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Hey, can you do a video on how the dino groups work and how to manipulate them?
I like your style of teaching and I wanna use it as a reference for my server that I'm planning on opening. They are gonna need to know how to use it well.
Iguanodons!! I fell in love with them on Aberration. They have 2 stances like the Spino. Very fast. Good harvester. You can get seeds from any berry or crop you gather. High enough levels are great fighters. They carry a decent amount. They can jump! And they hardly use any stamina. Plus I think they are so elegant and have beautiful patterns.
Thanks teach!
You missed one, the iguanadon is amazing as a mount, if you level health and weight with a touch of melee you can go on resource runs as they are very fast have just enough melee to take care of the occasional Raptor and will out run just about anything else.
PS a iguanadon Ascended saddle ealy game is a game changer.
Just recently discovered your channel. Its one of the best instruction channels I've seen with a ton of advise I haven't seen elsewhere, very instructive. Besides your voice is pleasant to listen to which unfortunately is not always the fact with other channels (except Nooblets maybe LOL). It makes viewing your videos easy on the ear and eye, very important aspect.
I hope you get your 100k subscribers soon!
Do dinosaurs need to be a certain level to access breeding or the special harvesting menu? I’m new to the game and I can pull up the menu and ride/access inventory but nothing else works
Nearly there dude, one of the best video's!
Also, gliding down to the redwoods from the volcano with an archaeopterix is super fun
Another great video 👍
I always tame a Moschops. They’re so handy. Get a pair and use the eggs for kibble too.
Easiest tame for the large eggs (superior kibble)!
what mod u useing for the cryos to make them green like that?
What's the mod you have for cryopod or souls or something like that?
Hey what mod was that for the pods ?
Anyone know how to fix the events messing with your rates? I got my rates on my server set to 4 but everytime I activate a even on the server it goes to rates that the event is doing like 2x instead of 4x. Anyone know how to fix it?
What cryo mod are you using there?
Fun fact about the equus, they can one tap wood spikes. Not very useful, but it’s an ability haha
Awesome list. Do people use the Dire bear much? seems pretty insane "dino"
They are good, especially if you can't have a ton of tames so you want ones that can serve different purposes.
it’s one of my favorites, it’s super fast, good weight, and is pretty strong considering how small it is, also a good harvester since it can gather meat, berries, and fiber
@@cheesehead9980dont forget about the fact they harvest way more honey than a player can
Been playing ASA and I've got a crazy carno line going. 5.5khp 414melee rn....cant wait to dominate soakers
You’ve been consistent, articulate and most of all, helpful. Subscribed and liked sir. Took too long for me to do so. My apologies look forward to catching up to your other videos.
Can't seem to get my archy to do the glide part but maybe I'm not used to pc controls yet
I tried to set up an organic polymer farm with a moschops leveled up in organic polymer only and it's very in consistent. sometimes I get hundreds, other times I get only dozens.
Mmmm... delicious organic polymer.
Get a pelagornis and level melee. Kill baby penguins.thank me later. It gets x5 more than a wooden club. The babies or Juvis only
These orbs that store the dinosaurs, Is this something everyone can get?? So cool!
Thats all cool about the paid maps DLC's but will you be able to use it in small tribes or official like any other map? Because if not I feel its pointless really.
Obviously good for solo play and maybe boosted but most seem to play things like small tribes
Carno is definitely under appreciated and is very useful in early to mid tier game. I was able to kill a Lvl 40 Alpha Megalodon with its bleed kill. I doesn’t stack but slowly but surely it got killed.
In ASE, I used carnos all the time to bleed out rock elementals. (Don't ask me why they bleed though, just accept and appreciate it.)
Whoa the soul balls are back? Or what mod is that? I took a swing through your videos for mod reviews and did t see that one. Maybe I missed it?
Hello everyone ! I’m new to the game and was wondering if I should start my game in the multiplayer section or solo mode? Not sure what the best experience is.
another thing with the moschops is they drop large eggs so it is easy to get them early and make the kibble for dinos like argys allos and spinos
I like the archy, can u use simo in tech cave
If I'm not mistaken, you can equip the Sasquatch with a sword and shield too, which makes tlit 10x as fun running around swinging at everything, lol.
U my friend are a man of culture and a scholar cheers 🥂 🧐
Does this tip also work on survival evolved?
Never thought about using archaeo for caves seems like it would be good for the sketchy jumps in lava cave. Just dismount your cave dino and use it for the jumps. And now that I think of it the megalania would be good for that cave by swamp instead of bringing a grapple to get to artifact just wall or ceiling climb.
Wonder if you can use a megalania to stay on the ceiling in the snow cave and avoid everything.
What mods are you using for dino storage?
Dino Depot maybe
Otter have an oxygen stat. You can see it in this video. You just never notice this because they generally will not drown before your character does. But also, they will share your scuba tank while on your shoulder, but at zero added cost. I am pretty sure all shoulder mounts share your scuba while on your shoulder. So do not have an otter on follow, while underwater, without access to your scuba oxygen. They will die, and not save themselves by swimming to the surface since they are on follow.
Tapejara also can cling to surfaces, and you can shoot from their backs while landed, or on a vertical surface. I am not sure if you can shoot from their backs while flying in ASA.
Equus have a mortar, and pestle in their saddle. Since you mentioned that you could not remember.
Had no idea Megalania's climb
The moschops is good for penguin island
what cryo ball mod is that
Which cryo mod is that? Looks better than the 1 I'm using
Dino Depot I think
Alway enjoy the videos
Tapejara is good to help building tall builds.
You must really like that character creator eh TEACH? LOL
100
Can spino fit in tek cave
Megalania are great cavers,
but are underused in general because the bite is wonky & it's difficult to get a hit (ya see them following prey trying to attack & can't hit).
Otter... THE best shoulder pet for PVE. Ya covered the extra insulation ability, fish hunting & pearl gathering,
but forgot it's greatest superpower:
it's the only critter in the game that can carry MULTIPLES OF THE SAME ARTIFACT.
Carno is really good caver with the surprise ability to get between & under the legs of bigger carnivores.
"Tap-a-hara" or "Tape-Jars" are awesome flyers, not as fast as Ptera, but more agile.
Ya forgot about their "wall-hanger" ability.
Archa - ARK's original chitin tamed emergency glider-chute.
Often killed on sight due to their side profile similarity to MicroRaptors
I would take Otters off the list as they are almost a requirement in single player mode for Artifact farming and I would add Beelzebufo (for farming cementing paste, caving, and general versatility) or Castoroides (for woodfarming and their smithy saddle).
Hi Teach... which dino storage/cryo pods are you using in this video?
Was also wondering the same thing
@@ryangibson2143 ya looks like the soul terminal one...
@@PopdHeat Which one is that?
@ryangibson2143 the one from ASE that looks like the one he is using...
Actually dodos have a chance to lay an egg everytime they poop so they don't actually need a male for the egg boost like the other creatures.
I dont want to hit the archeopteryx too many times in fear of being swarmed by 100s of them.
I love spinos and carnos. I favour them over rexes for much of the game, but I rarely see other people using them. In fact, I was told in local chat I should kill my 'useless' carno and tame something decent, lol. He is far from useless.
What Mod are you using to pod upyour dinos?❤❤
What cryopod mod is this that your using teach? 10:37
Tapajara can also carry another player and you can fire a weapon from it also.
Teach stays teaching
I love otters I honestly don't think there is a better shoulder mount iv used almost exclusively since I first started playing I also love spinos I think they are the best ground based dino for general use
ATM there isn't a better shoulder mount; the otter does everything most of the other shoulderpets can do, plus insulation and artifact carrying. Which is unfortunate, because as much as I love otters I'd like to see the other pets get a bit of love and some extra utility to make them actually useful - for example (and this is an unpopular opinon) I think the ability to carry artifacts should be taken away from the otter and given to the Pegomastix instead.
Later, when the Aberration map coms out with the light pets, there'll be some competition on specifically that map: the charged light they provide is essential for managing nameless spawns and debuffing reapers. Even further down the road, Lost Island will give us the Sinomacrops which is an insane mobility pet and Fjordur will give us the Fjordhawk which is simply amazing in general use and downright busted when fully exploited. But they're not here yet for ASA, so Otter is just the straight up winner.
does anyone know what mod that hes using??
The reason why people dont use some of these dinos is because most people play on servers with higher rates. These dinos are designed to be usefull on vanilla rates where they matter. High rate servers kinda make some of these dinos obsolete unless they have a PvP use
Last chapter is labeled "Giganotosaurus" but it's actually about "Gigantopithecus"
1700 hours in DayZ forgot what it’s like to be a noob until I got this last week 😂
Teach its 'EH - KWUS' (The horsey)
Thanks for making great content brudda
I feel like the spino shouldn't have an oxygen stat at all.
Well, they are a real extinct creature, and we know they didn't have gills, so it only makes sense that they need oxygen.
@@vvhitevvabbit6479 yeah but the Barry doesn't have an oxygen stat and can stay underwater indefinitely. And it's a spinosaurid so you'd think that would be a trait they all would share.
Then the argument should be that barys SHOULD have oxygen meters. If we are going to back traits that the RL creatures didn't have, then I want my gigas to have wings please.@@Atzuma99
@@vvhitevvabbit6479 I mean the rhynio is called a sky giga for a reason lol.
That one is fictional. The spino and bary actually existed.@@Atzuma99
Tape spino and carno some of the most used Dino’s
Don’t forget the Ovis (Sheep), for Mutton and Wool 😎
yeah, but they are used as livestock. This list is for tames that you use. It would be like putting a sheep on a tier list of best tractors.
Most of these are under used because there's something else in game that does what they do way better. Also, your suggestion that the tapejara is just as fast as the ptera is way off. It''s somewhere between the speed of an argy and ptera, and probably closer to argy speed. Additionally, a ptera can use its C attack to move much quicker. With enough stamina on a ptera, you can C attack yourself across the map at least twice as fast as a Tapejara can do it. I like the Tapejara for building tall structures and for aerial taming with a tribemate with the passenger saddle.
☝️🤓
No mention of otter artifact farming?
Moschops eggs v good
Even though i agree on their usefulness, i don't see how in early game (i mean early, like stone hatchet and bow period) you can easy get access to the zebra or the ape.
The only "early game" you've called out here are the dodo and moshops.
If you know how the Equis taming minigame works you can tame them easy at level one. The main problem with that is they are a rare spawn which only spawn in locations which are really dangerous early-game on The Island. There's a spot slightly to the east of the Southern South Cave near the beaver lodges on the river, but Alpha Rexes also spawn there too.
Watched this twice
Sunday funday
Barrys? They are my first sought after tame next to an argy. Can do most caves semi equatic can jump and everything is kills is instant harvested. Great for clearing baby if you have a fall through stuff on death problem
Barrys are great. But they are not really underrated
@@TeachersGameToo you right
Was trying to tame a IndominusRex and Wild Carnos almost killed him. And they got like 80k hp
Also the monkey also dose a lot of damage to amor
Carno's bleed does not slow, that's exclusive to Allo
Forgot lasso for the equus
Chalicos too 👀
What do you use them for? I don't know if I've ever tamed one.
@@chrisjones6002 they throw big rock and can go in turret mode. If they're weak you can sit them down like megatheriums and they heal faster
@@helghanmerc2765 sounds interesting I'll have to find one, thanks.
Leveled up a chalico can do over 1k per rock, and it can bounce to get multiple opponents and sometimes same target multiple times. 2 shot rexes with mine. Plus turret, thatch gatherer, and overall versatile.
You forgot to mention tapejara can carry three people. And they can fire weapons maybe thats only evolved idk
I have never seen a magalania
apart from bosses, the spino heavily outclasses the rex as well. well maybe not vs gigas either, but other than that? faster attack speed, much bigger hitbox, much, MUCH bigger knockback. most things couldnt even touch a spino even if it did not move, take aberration and alpha karkinos for example, unless you knock your spino out due to lack of stamina you can beat them up without getting hit even a single time, with zero effort. people only do not realize cause they think this fighting stance is the best thing on spinos, when in reality you have to avoid it if you want to make use of the knockback.
Thank god for mods.
Did they nerf the attack speed for the bipedal spino? I swear it used to be faster
They did
Spino on abb:🗿
I GYATT to get me these tames
What cryo pod mod is he using?
I think "Pelayori's Cryo Storage" mod, might be wrong tho, I'm new to PC ark (or ASA for that matter). Just go to the mods list and sort by most downloads it seems to be the one that most people are using
@@otto3944 Nope. I have Pelayori's mod in my single player world and it's like the regular cryopods. I first thought he uses the Dino Storage mod, but I'm not really sure...
@@domimimi42 yeah I was wrong, Pelayori's mod just adds normal cryopods, cryofridge and a cryo gun I think
Super cryo storage I think it's called
Maybe Dino Depot, looks like it
I wish you mentioned where to find all of these creatures... Otherwise great video
Pelagorgons
I breed megalania to make cave runing easier
Nicd
Since when can you ride the Moschops?!?
Eh-kwiss = Equus
What's your character name Thot Mcthoterson?
Stegosaurus stegosaurus and stegosaurus
With a ryno and Carha
Easy raids
Labeling number one as a giga lmao
Where are the Archaeopteryx?
Don't sleep on sabers seriously they aren't like the baryonyx or megalania but they spawn in droves I regret never trying them because if you get a high level and trust me you'll find them they can be your entry level tame in caves especially if barry spawns aren't being kind to you
