I can't wait to start breeding these. After watching your awesome breeding videos, and playing on a server with a tek binocular mod, I was able to easily see how the breeding is working and make some really nice tames. This Gigantoraptor adds several layers of complexity to breeding and it should really be a fun toy for ARK breeders!

The two tweaks this tame needs to truly shine: 1. We need to be able to access the babies inventory while sitting in the saddle. That way we can stuff them with food when we hop off. 2. The wild baby call needs to identify Gigantoraptor Babies in Teal. A sea of White Pacifiers is useless information. Ideally I would love Teal for Gigantoraptors, Red for baby Rexes, and Green for baby Brontos. Those are the babies that matter.
Kind of amazing that I had to learn this in a youtube video and not from the game, the casual mention of MEGA mutations hurts a bit. On most servers this is 6 months work -_-
Did you realise WC deleted the tether distance setting on console ? They should fix this so small families can play together without monthly fees to buy unnecessary unused slots
From my understanding the menu entry wasnt needed anymore because Wildcard increased the tether to the maximum possible already, which I think was 1000m. For everything else you will need a server. (small server running at home on your PC for example)
In the thought process of getting female Gigantoraptor babies for breeding colors, stats, and the like, does it really matter to do the dance method over just taking one and killing the parent to claim the baby? Meaning, if you have a M stud already, and you are just bringing more F into the mix to push colors and stats into the breeding project, even if the dino you are using to claim the baby isn't maxed, does it matter? Or should the first choice always be to try and do the dance to get the baby? Many nests, parents, and babies seem a bit bugged on official, so killing the parent seems to be the only way. Thank you.
i have a question if you will see it. i see nothing on google about it as well as the official wiki. i may be blind and didnt see it though. If you leave the parent alive and tame its baby will it spawn another baby in a nest? or is it just best to kill it and let another spawn?
Idk why it may be because my character is the smallest I could make it so the hitbox is tiny, or because it's official and it's leggy, I have been taming them without traps or eggs, just wearing full ghillie and the parents never attack me, even when they come right up to me. I usually wait for them to move away from nest before I get fully tame the baby just incase they might attack the tamed bby
So the 10% damage reduction for the babies. Does that buff fall off each time you cryo the dinos? I want the 10% DR on my Carbos. Then take it to a raid. Will the Bonding carry over. Or does it reset after podding and they have to kill stuff again when they are grown?
@@TiiaAurora Yeah thats What i figured. Im also running into an issue where the Carbo hatches at 87 and gigantor is lvl 277 and it says LEVEL TOO HIGH to put in basket. I dont get it
Could you elaborate on the mutation level, by chance?? 254 seems pretty high and I'm wondering if there's something here I'm missing. I thought mutations had a hard cap at a much lower point?
If you keep breeding a mutated male with 20/20 mutations with females that have 0/20 you still have the chance to gain new mutations. It just takes RNG and time to get that far.
Holy shit. I've just started ark and breeding and this is alot! People are talking about 250 something mutations in the line.. Doesn't that mean hundreds of generations?
They are to complicated. If I tame a 150 gigaraptor , level it to the max and then claim 150 baby's will the result be similar or better than taming a 150 of the same Dino directly? If not I see no point in them.
My question is, are the stat bonuses from Giga rapts permanent? As in; can I imprint 2 Rex babies with the gigarapt, and have their stat bonuses carry over to further breeding of those rexes?
@@oldmanbluu that influences where the bonus levels go. so say you have a gigantoraptor with health as the highest stat(60 base 254 mutations), and it is fully leveled. it claims a wild 150 baby. that baby gets 75 bonus levels and the health is the stat that is prioritized when distributing those 75 extra levels. so in a way, yes it is transferable because it will be the base stat of the dino
i got 100% taming effect on a baby i claimed with the gigaraptor unlvld just fully imprinted.i do not believe the information is correct on needing it fully lvld as well as fully imprinted to get 100% effect on claiming babies. fully imprinted should be all you need. though you are correct about it being bugged for claiming babies atm. and technically this isnt even an early game tame by using Wildcards wanted method of taming
yea idk i tamed a lvl 12 by claiming with my gigaraptor that was 100% imprint, no lvls put into it at all so 0 lvls added after raising. and i got a lvl 17 juvenile from it. which at 100% taming effect is correct@@TiiaAurora
I really don't think you can influence what bonus levels babies get from TE, at least from my testing. I didn't check mutations (maybe it only cares about them?) but I spawned in some insane level chickens with like 200 points in one stat. I then claimed a ton of baby dinos with them, w a fully leveled chicken, and the TE bonus levels seemed completely random. I had a bird with 200 wgt as it's highest stat, and a 150 baby with 20 wild points in wgt went to 25. Maybe I'm missing something? The post-tame levels affecting TE is so nice to know tho, makes these guys rly useful, still not seeing a point in mutating them tho unless I'm doing something wrong.
@@TiiaAurora Are you sure it affects baby bonus levels though? I had crazy amount of points in melee on my raptor and tamed lots of babies, it just seems random I wasn't getting spikes in the baby melee stats
seems like its only like a 1-6% gain very very small a pointless dino basically to make people stay logged in for the game dev metrics people are thinking it will give massive buffs but in reality by the time you get 254 muts on one you could finish your other line so whats the point?
@@MrReno888 It could be because of the still existing claim bug in the game that hasnt been fixed yet. Here is the math: Extra weight scales from a 0% difference to a 6.25% percent difference, by having 60 wild points (if difficulty 5), and 254 mutations in the specific stat. On average we saw 5-6 levels more in melee than expected (tested about 50 babies)
And here the math how to get the full bonus levels: Lvl 150 baby claimed by a Giganto with 0 level up points or 0% taming effectiveness would result in the baby getting 0 bonus levels. Lvl 150 baby claimed by a Giganto with 44 level up points and 50% taming effectiveness would result in the baby getting 18 bonus levels. Lvl 150 baby claimed by a Giganto with 44 level up points and 100% taming effectiveness would result in the baby getting 37 bonus levels. Lvl 150 baby claimed by a Giganto with all 88 level up points and 50% taming effectiveness would result in the baby getting 37 bonus levels. Lvl 150 baby claimed by a Giganto with all 88 level up points and 100% taming effectiveness would result in the baby getting the full 75 bonus levels.
