excellent video clearly explaining the mutations. I would point out that you will not always see a new color with a new mutation. At least with ASE, a dino has 6 color regions but not all dinos use all 6 regions, so sometimes a color mutates that is not actually used so you won't see the difference. Other times, the mutated color is so similar to the old color that it's nearly impossible to notice the difference.

Great video - one easy trick to keep track of stats I have found is to simply name the male breeders after their key stats. I.E. you would name that initial male 330 H 132 M if you do not have the tek binocs (or other ways to check stat levels directly), or 0 H 0 M if you do.
Awesome video. I've managed to get my head around it finally. Your video is by far the most straight forward and to the point, that I have watched so far. For that, you get a new subscriber
Thanks a ton! Just figured out I have been doing it wrong for a week, but I totally get it now. Going to point questions on breeding here. These two videos are so simple.
I did some testing and I know your not supposed to use females. But if you for example get a female with the stat mutations you want. You can than breed that female to the original male in your breed farm to make a male with the stat mutation to than put that male with your other clean females. It helps increase your chances to get the stats you want because you can use both males and females. I tested this myself and it works and if you look at the ancestor page like he does in the video. It will move them all to the right and be 0 on the left with this method.
@michaelpyse9835 hey, so I'm trying mutations for the first time in ark on abb, i have a mutated megalosaurus male with a melee mutation, and now i just got an egg if a female with 4 mutations on melee and food (i know sucks right🤣) So now if i need to get that mutation back onto a male, what male do i breed it with?
Thanks to the other video you posted, ive managed to breed a Siiiiick Megatherium genepool. Took me 10 weeks though, on arkpocalips settings. I keep sending your videos to my ark mates. Youre a beast🎉🎉
If a lvl 233 argy with 20 mutations into melee comes out with +40 levels equals 273 levels through mutations and combining with health mutations that ends up being a 313 lvl baby. How do you not pass down the level in this video lol lil confused. I know 450 levels is when a creature gets wiped. How do you keep those stats on a low level?
oh my gosh i had no idea that breeding had changed from ASE and was wondering why it was so difficult to get the mutations i wanted and now i know and i have to fix all my breeding lines lol
This was super helpful. Thank you! Question- What would be the downside of keeping both health and melee mutations that hit on that first male mutant line? I noticed you focused only on one stat and then started a full separate mutant male line for the other stat?
The downside is that both are not guranteed to breed down, sometimes you might get the new hp mutation on the baby but it doesn't get the melee so you have to kill it and keep breeding hoping that you keep both mutated stats PLUS getting a new mutation on one of them. Depends how lucky you are
Hey, this was an awesome explanation! Liked and subscribed. I've watched tons of vids and read tons of comments, and I still wasn't 100% that I was getting it; this vid nailed it in for me. I do have 2 questions: 1. Can you use max lvl 150 dinos for mutation breeding like this? It's taken me so long to figure out breeding that I'm already taming 150s lol. Can I have my clean male and females with the perfect stats and make my mutation lines from those? I've seen so many vids recommending you use low lvl dinos for the mutation breeding, but it's not clear why. Only exlanation I've found is that starting with low lvls means you can start breeding mutations earlier in the game and then just combine the mutation into your max dinos later. Seems like you can save a step if you're already endgame, no? 2. You mentioned that once you combine 2 mutation lines, the matrilineal and patrilineal will both be maxed out. Is there no way to add a 3rd mutation line and get the dino lvl even higher (unofficial)?
The only reason you do low level is when you don't have the perfect tames YET. If you do, then start on those. Add the 2 lines and then breed with no mutation dino to stack all mutations to the one side again so you can add a 3rd, 4th, 5th mutation line
Is there a way to switch the mutations from 1 side to the other side, i have 8 mutations on the mothers side on a male , is there a way to move the mutations over to the other side
I apologize if this was mentioned and I missed it, but is it possible to combine melee mutations from 2 separate lines? For example if I have a melee mutation on my health stat line, can I add the melee mutation to the stack of mutations in my melee line, or do I have to get the melee mutation in my melee line for it to increase?
Hey what about probabilities in mutations, do you know if they are still the same? I remember it was like 7% with no mutations and then 3%, something like that
I heard that each parent provides a 3.5% chance as long as they are under 20/20 mutations on both sides. So you get a 7% combined chance until a parent reaches 20/20 mutations on one side. If the other parent still has less than 20/20, then you can still get the 3.5% chance from that one. Keeping the mutation on the patrilineal side should let you use the 7% chance for as long as possible. If anyone finds anything wrong with this info, please correct me so we may all benefit 😊 but this is what I have gathered from the material I've seen.
So do you need to keep your 1st male line purely male mutations, and then once you hit the limit of 20 for the fathers side, then breed a second line of health from the mothers side? Or can you mix different stat mutations as you go?
ConCon would you consider a video about why you avoid stacking mutations on both the Male and the Female until their summed mutations = 19, at which point you just do mutations on the Male side? In my current understanding it would halve the amount of babies you have to kill off (all the females) but only works until your number of mutations gets to 19
Just one question is there a limit to how many individual stats you can combine? For example if I wanted to max out a game with all stats at 254 mutations when I combine them wouldn’t I go over the 20 limit on both sides and lose any stats over the 20 on the moms side?
Great video man, thanks for it and the one before with the drawings, one question, what happend if im breeding theris (or any other creature), clean females 231lvl and a 237 male with 3 mutations on melee... after hatching the eggs, i get a 233 with a mutation on melee, this one is good to keep breeding? what matters are the mutations right?
So you’re saying to leave all the females at base health and don’t throw in mutated ones? Just asking because I’m breeding right now and when I breed a male wit ya mutation and a female with no mutation. Sometimes the baby will get the mutation and sometimes it won’t. In my case 218 is the base level and 220 is when I have the mutation. I’ll hatch 10 eggs and half of them will be 218 and half will be 220
Say you get a colour and stat mutation at the same time for your first mutation would the baby show up with 2/20? Does that also take up another stat mutation slot as you said 127 mutation is the cap?
Enjoying your videos. How hard is it to get more stacks of a certain stat like another second melee, third melee,etc….. is it the same odds as getting the first one?
hello ive been having a lot of trouble with mutations, ive probably bred over 300 babiies but my mutation stat isnt going up, instead im getting mutations in other stats, are my dinos bugged?
Question: if you want both melee and HP mutations on the final result, why only stack melee on one line and a wholly different line for HP? If you have a male with Melee mutation, and then his son gets the melee mutation + a HP mutation, would'nt that be just as good as getting another melee mutation?
You then have to hope each baby gets the Melee AND the HP. So it takes longer because sometimes you will get the melee increase but the HP doesn't pass down so you have to throw it away.
2 different lines will be easier; if you try to stack 2 or more stats at once you will be constantly running into the issue where one of the stats gets a desired mutation, but the other stat ends up getting the clean female's stat, not the mutated one.
Remember the baby has like 50% chance to get the mother or the father's stat, and then you still have to hope the mutation lands on the right stat while hoping that it's getting the stat from the father. If you add more stats into this then you have to play those odds as well to keep both the right stats passing down
So does it not matter for example if I have a wild male and female 150 raptor could I have done this with a lvl 1 and a 150 or is both 150 parents better
Ah yeah it requires still a bit of knowledge on general breeding to understand how to take it further. In general ark is filled with lots of info to try absorb
The basic one was the one before this that he mentioned at the beginning. I highly recommend watching that one - easily the best mutation video and the first that made it make sense to me
so i made a mistake and got rid of the original moms and the ones i have now are females that has the mutation can i just go and fix it by taming a new females and keeping that male and continue breeding them with the male that has the mutation and keep on trying to get a better male over and over again ? im a new player thats why im kinda confused
ConCon I know you do a bunch of videos about asa so i have two questions involving single player. I know 254 is max mutations. Its thats 254 total? Or can i get 254 into all the stats? Also in singleplayer do you know the max damage % for weapons is it still 755%?
254 mutation levels is the max for each stat; each mutation raises the mutation level by +2, so you would need 127 mutations in a stat to reach that max. I know the ASE official servers also had a total level cap (450 for most dinos, 500 for some others), which meant you could only get one stat that high; not sure if the ASA offical servers have the same level cap.
Now, the eye also wants something. That wolf with orange feet and toxic green fur, looked like an abomination. Will those first mutations that take hold determine the color down the line, or can it still be overwritten with a "new" mutation?
@@ConCon but does that mean the color is always linked to the mutation stat you want? Lets say you have a color with a worse stat, but to get that higher stat you always get the color you don't want?
Right, what if I line bred full mutations on mele. Then did another line full mutations on health both max. If bred the end results together wouldn’t I get a Dino with that health stat and mele? Or will it only get half and half?
so when you are breeding low levels, are you basically searching for a male/female that have ALL the points in one stat? For instance, lowest level on my server is 5, so should I be looking for level 5's with all 5 in the stat i want, or anything above 3 etc?
No, level does not matter. The idea is that you can start breeding mutations EARLY in the game before you've tamed the best max level dinos. Because sometimes it can take days before you find a good max level dino
@@ConCon So if you have a low level Dino with mutations that you worked hard to breed for and tame a max level later on, you can simply breed the mutations onto the new max level? Just confirming that I understand what took place.
I have 217 megatheriums both female and male and i have bred them up and got 248 megatheriums (perfect pair) and if i want to get melee mutations ill have to keep breeding them for melee and once i am done with that, ill have to do the same with the health stat? (Starting from the lvl 248 megatheriums). And when i get the melee creature that is maxed out with mutations and the same with health, then ill have to just breed them to get the best megatherium? I would really apreciate the answer😁, just making sure.
Is each individual mutation inherited separately? So if my male has 3 health mutations the babies will either inherit 0, 1, 2 or 3 mutations? If so surely the odds of transferring 10+ mutations become very small? Having to make 10x 50% rolls in a row?
No it's not, you either get; 1. Dad's 3 mutation health stat 2. Mom's 0 mutation health stat 3. Dad's 3 mutation health stat + new mutation 4. Mom's 0 mutation health stat + new mutation Obviously you want the 3. option
@@ConCon thank you! So in option 4, there’s no way to transfer that mutation over to the male side stack? And those babies with a mutation on the mums side should just be trashed? Thanks for your help
Is it 127 mutations in total or just for each stat? Like can you take a 127 Damage and a 127 Health and a 127 Weight and merge them to have a creature with the 127 in each or no? I'm sorry I play single player and it's hard for me to understand all of this stuff
Thank you so much for taking the time for this, one question, does imprinting matter or can it be ignored during the process of stacking the mutations?
You can but it becomes a little harder because sometimes you get the melee increase but the HP didn't carry down, so it splits and you need to keep trying until you get both HP and Melee and then a new mutation on top.
I’m struggling keeping track without tek binoculars, I’ve got my first mutation stack but I can’t tell what the second mutation is, no stats are different from either parent
How many times did u need to breed the low level mutated male with the high level clean one to get the high level one at the end? I am only getting below 200s
@@ConCon another thing, how can I fully imprint the final baby instantly? I have waited long enough i think. Managed to get 11 weight mutations for my argy
but what shut i do if i get a femal with the right mutation stack ?? can i bread it with a male that hase 0 mutations or do i have to kill it an wait for a male
Hi I need help understanding, im breeding ankies and my male im currently using has 1 point in health 1 point in weight and 1 point in melee all on dads side (6) with (0) female mutations. So im wondering if thats ok to keep trying to get a stat up on those or to start again and target one at a time, im using 12 clean females but i dont know if im just getting unlucky as ive been through a few eggs, thanks.
It's very hard to do it that way, it's best to have each line separate because not every mutation breeds down each time as I'm sure you've noticed. Also try get a lot more clean females
2 questions. 1. What’s the max base stat you can get ? Also I noticed if you look at wilds with binoculars and see the base stat then it goes up a few numbers after tamed is there a way to calculate that ? Say like he’s got 35 Health points then after tamed it’s 40 is there a way to tell how many points it will go up ?
1. A dino's level is distributed into all it's stats. Theoretically the max is the level of the dino. But almost impossible to get a dino with all its points into one stat. 2. Taming efficiency. If you have 100% taming efficiency you get extra levels in the creature, they are randomly assigned into any stat. Its like a gacha game and you have to hope you get more levels in the right stats you want.
Yes, you would want to have separate line of stam males. When you have all the stats finished mutating you can combine the health & melee as in the video onto a female, then mate her with the final stam male until you get a baby (ideally a male & female pair) with all the three final stats.
Is it possible to do this with more than 3 stats? Like having an Argie with maxed Health, Stam, Weight, and Melee? As long as you have separate mutation lines?
So if I get mutated females, I should keep them to the side until I am satisfied with the males mutation line to then breed them with the female with a mutation for Ark Survival Evolved?!
Its only significant if you just started the character today and don't have any tames going yet, its a way to get a headstart before you find the best tames. If you ALREADY have the perfect pair, start with them.
just for my smoll brain..basicly means: (my example) I have a male rex with a hp mutation of 2. I breed him with a lot of clean females(not mutations) until one baby comes out(pref. male) with a 4 mutation on hp and so on until its 20/20 with hp mutation. And afterwards I try to get a female with a damage mutation and breed it until it has 20/20 dmg mutation, is that correct?(my server is also using a mod to change the gender of the dino, so i could make it quicker to just breed males witht he wanted mutation, IF im correct)
You want a separate line of males per stat. After you get your HP mutations done like you said (note that you can go past 20/20 by using mutated males and clean females; the females can keep triggering mutations until a stat hits 254 levels, which is 127 mutations), you would start again with a clean male and go for melee mutations; note you can use the same clean female breeders. Then you stack up mutation on melee the same way. Once you have as many melee mutations as you desired, you will have a male with that final melee mutation level count. You can then either use that gender swap mod to turn him into a female, and mate with your final health male until you get male & female babies with both final stats, or without mods mate your final melee male with a female until you have female with desired stat to mate with final health male.
@@dreadcthulhu6842 also One question regarding mutation, on some dinos it tells me 3 mutations but the binocular only shows 2 for the stat, is the 1 the color?
thank you so so much for all the breeding videos, now im working on a raptor project and i got a mutation in oxygen but i dont want it should i ignore it and go back to the original pair and wait for another male with a mutation in melee or hp? and can i use a male but thats not showing any "2"s/mutations in any stats but there is 1/20 in the ancestry as it got the highest stats from both in hp and melee?! thanks
Nice video! I am not sure to understand, should I only do one kind of mutation at a time? Can I do for example health & Melee or the game only allow one kind of mutation per dino? Meaning I would have to bread two different male with each Melee and Health
What do you mean by patterns? Its actually faster to make an individual breeding line for the melee stat and another one for the health stat and once both are high enough, breed them together to get a dino with both high stats.
Im still new when it comes to breeding and right now im stacking for stam mutations but i got twin males with one stam and one melee mutations and im wondering if i replace my male with one stam mutation with the one i talked about or just keep breeding till i get one with 2 stam mutations
Can you breed 2 stats in same paternal line? Example first pure son breeds a son with 2 str stats and then that son breeds a son with 2 health stats and that son breeds a son with 4 health and 2 str? Do I have to focus on one stat only?
Its possible yes, but better to breed a male line with one stat and another male line with the other stat. It's all about luck. It gets tricky because later on when you have 30HP and 20Melee, your baby can get a mutation increase but takes the mom's stat for the other one like 32HP 0Melee. So you'd have to keep trying until both stats carry down as well as getting a mutation on one of them
So if I get a mutation on a female do I just breed that with the clean male until it transfers into a son with the mutation, then replace the clean male with the mutated son?
I think im doin it wrong lol... now i have a rex male wit 2 mut on health and 2 in Melee.. and im breeding wit 2 Female wit zero mutations.... but if i saw in ur video when u get the mut on male, u tamed a couple from wild to get thr higher stats on melee and health then breed them until get a other couple wit max stats on health and melee .. then i dnt understand if u get other 4 wild females to breed wit the male with melee mutation, or just breed wit females u get from us last couple... bc u also say females wit no mutations.... so my question is am I doin it wrong then?
Hi ConCon! So on ark se i would clean steak 20hp mutations then clean stack 20melee mutations then i would breed those 2 together until i hit 1.3bill mutations then breed back to perfect female to get negative then split them again to continue clean stacking. Will that not work anymore?
I'm terribly confused with my theri mutations. I'm showing 5 mutations from the paternal side and 2 mutations from the maternal side, however I only have 3 mutations in health ( +6 ) and 1 mutation in melee ( +2 ). Why on Earth does it say 7 mutations total? My perfect pair were 232s with identical stats and no mutations, and my most recent male, with the supposed 7 mutations, is lvl 240. The level makes sense if you consider the 4 mutations I have, but for some reason the ancestry says I have 7 mutations... I made sure I never bred 2 mutated theris together, so there shouldn't have been any strange stacking. What am I missing here?
Sounds like you're using a female with mutations, when you breed with them it starts multiplying the counters you see out of 20. Thats why I say don't breed with females that have mutations otherwise you lock yourself out of progressing later on once both sides are over 20. If you did everything correctly then you should never have more than 1 mutation showing in the maternal side because each time you breed with a mom that has zero mutations, the mutations all move to the paternal side.
So, if I understand this correctly. Let's say you have a male with 254 mutations in damage, and a female with the 254 mutations in health, you can make a baby that has both the health and damage stat? You can simply not increase the mutations anymore with the baby that has both. RIght?
I’m confused. I bred rhinos looking for health, stamina, and melee damage mutations. I ended up with a 4 in each but my mutation counter is maxed out (35)on patrilineal and matrilineal sides. How do I have 35 mutations on each side but only a(4) in the second column? That’s way too low
That means you have been breeding with parents that both have mutations. The mutation counter goes up drastically even if the mutated stats aren't there if both parents have mutations listed in the counters.
As long as you always breed the mutated dino with a non-mutated dino you can stack all the mutations onto one side over 20 and it makes the other side go to 0/20.
Have a question. So I’m currently breeding mutations on theris and have separate lines for health and melee. I’m currently at +4 for health but almost have another raised at +6 health. My question is that I have 3 mutations on my +6 health theri but it only shows the 1 mutation of +2 on the health instead of +6. Is it still stacking mutations this way as well so that the +6 is passed on? I have no Tek binoculars to confirm.
Idk why all the videos I’ve been watch have been confusing the crud outta me on this. But this video…absolutely nailed it man. Thank you so very much. It’s like a window has been opened in my brain. Seriously. You’re the man.

Hello, why is it better to mutate on low levels? Just because it is simple to overview the stats?
No because you tame lower levels earlier in your game before finding the perfect max level dinos. So you can already start with mutations early on

Glad you enjoyed it! I forgot the name as I used it quickly, it was the most popular one at the time about mutations

The only reason you do low level is when you don't have the perfect tames YET. If you do, then start on those.
Add the 2 lines and then breed with no mutation dino to stack all mutations to the one side again so you can add a 3rd, 4th, 5th mutation line
Beautiful! Thank you so much for the explanation, much appreciated! ❤
What happens if you imprinted the baby dino
It gains bonus to it's stats, but doesn't breed those stats down so it's unique to each dino
Very clear explained! ( i am not the brightest 😅) so if i understand something i didnt understand before i think its very well explanaid
Glad it was helpful!
Is imprinting important at all for the baby dinos?
Not unless you plan to ride them and fight with them
Is there a way to switch the mutations from 1 side to the other side, i have 8 mutations on the mothers side on a male , is there a way to move the mutations over to the other side
When you breed with a clean female the mutations will all move to one aide
Wait so, the mutation stats can reach up to 254, or do they stack up with the base stat?
I apologize if this was mentioned and I missed it, but is it possible to combine melee mutations from 2 separate lines? For example if I have a melee mutation on my health stat line, can I add the melee mutation to the stack of mutations in my melee line, or do I have to get the melee mutation in my melee line for it to increase?
Not possible.
Hey what about probabilities in mutations, do you know if they are still the same? I remember it was like 7% with no mutations and then 3%, something like that
I'm not sure about exact values and probabilities
I heard that each parent provides a 3.5% chance as long as they are under 20/20 mutations on both sides. So you get a 7% combined chance until a parent reaches 20/20 mutations on one side. If the other parent still has less than 20/20, then you can still get the 3.5% chance from that one. Keeping the mutation on the patrilineal side should let you use the 7% chance for as long as possible. If anyone finds anything wrong with this info, please correct me so we may all benefit 😊 but this is what I have gathered from the material I've seen.
I noticed you have movement speed as a stat to level up. How?
So do you need to keep your 1st male line purely male mutations, and then once you hit the limit of 20 for the fathers side, then breed a second line of health from the mothers side?
Or can you mix different stat mutations as you go?
ConCon would you consider a video about why you avoid stacking mutations on both the Male and the Female until their summed mutations = 19, at which point you just do mutations on the Male side? In my current understanding it would halve the amount of babies you have to kill off (all the females) but only works until your number of mutations gets to 19
If you stay on the male side and breed with females with zero mutations then the babies mutations all move over to the male side above 20/20
does it have to be male? or can you do female lines only as well?@@ConCon
You can do female line as well but the females have time between each breed when male can go all the time
Just one question is there a limit to how many individual stats you can combine? For example if I wanted to max out a game with all stats at 254 mutations when I combine them wouldn’t I go over the 20 limit on both sides and lose any stats over the 20 on the moms side?
Great video man, thanks for it and the one before with the drawings, one question, what happend if im breeding theris (or any other creature), clean females 231lvl and a 237 male with 3 mutations on melee... after hatching the eggs, i get a 233 with a mutation on melee, this one is good to keep breeding? what matters are the mutations right?
Yes because you can move then mutation stacks onto a better Dino with high base stata later on
So you’re saying to leave all the females at base health and don’t throw in mutated ones?
Just asking because I’m breeding right now and when I breed a male wit ya mutation and a female with no mutation. Sometimes the baby will get the mutation and sometimes it won’t. In my case 218 is the base level and 220 is when I have the mutation.
I’ll hatch 10 eggs and half of them will be 218 and half will be 220
Yes, here's why: ruclips.net/video/QfNXm3mTSa4/видео.html
@@ConCon thank you
Say you get a colour and stat mutation at the same time for your first mutation would the baby show up with 2/20? Does that also take up another stat mutation slot as you said 127 mutation is the cap?
A mutation will always be 1/20 and add BOTH a stat and colour
@@ConCon thank you so much :)
Enjoying your videos. How hard is it to get more stacks of a certain stat like another second melee, third melee,etc….. is it the same odds as getting the first one?
No it's not the same. Each mutation is a random chance. But passing down the mutation stack is almost half the odds as getting the first mutation.
hello ive been having a lot of trouble with mutations, ive probably bred over 300 babiies but my mutation stat isnt going up, instead im getting mutations in other stats, are my dinos bugged?
Question: if you want both melee and HP mutations on the final result, why only stack melee on one line and a wholly different line for HP?
If you have a male with Melee mutation, and then his son gets the melee mutation + a HP mutation, would'nt that be just as good as getting another melee mutation?
You then have to hope each baby gets the Melee AND the HP. So it takes longer because sometimes you will get the melee increase but the HP doesn't pass down so you have to throw it away.
Would it be better or easier to get health and melee on same male or just to make 2 differnt breeding lines?
It really depends on RNG
2 different lines will be easier; if you try to stack 2 or more stats at once you will be constantly running into the issue where one of the stats gets a desired mutation, but the other stat ends up getting the clean female's stat, not the mutated one.
Does it have to be only one stat at a time? I cant just mix them? aslong as they all land on paternal would it stack?
Remember the baby has like 50% chance to get the mother or the father's stat, and then you still have to hope the mutation lands on the right stat while hoping that it's getting the stat from the father.
If you add more stats into this then you have to play those odds as well to keep both the right stats passing down
So does it not matter for example if I have a wild male and female 150 raptor could I have done this with a lvl 1 and a 150 or is both 150 parents better
Is ASA it doesn't matter since you can move the mutation stack to the higher levels later. Breed with what you have
That's your basic guide? I was lost after a minute. Damn. I'm too old for this sheet. I appreciate it none the less
It's 254 on each stat, and not sure about the max % for weapons
254 mutation levels is the max for each stat; each mutation raises the mutation level by +2, so you would need 127 mutations in a stat to reach that max. I know the ASE official servers also had a total level cap (450 for most dinos, 500 for some others), which meant you could only get one stat that high; not sure if the ASA offical servers have the same level cap.
755.3% is still the max weapon damage
Now, the eye also wants something. That wolf with orange feet and toxic green fur, looked like an abomination. Will those first mutations that take hold determine the color down the line, or can it still be overwritten with a "new" mutation?
The color change with each mutations can change any of the colors at random. So yes it can be overwritten.
It would get both full lines
What to do if u have frmales with muts?
How do you get two dinos with the same stats? Im wanting to breed rexes, i tamed two level 16s and their stats arent the same
Breed them until the babies eventually have the same stats
@@ConCon great makes sense. Thank you!
Can you start this process with perfect tamed Dino’s and skip doing it on low lvls
Yes
Can you mutate more than one stat to 254? Obviously with two different males that have two different mutations.
Yes you could theoretically do all stats to 254
if i already have high level ones and not low ones, cant i just mutate on them?
Yes of course
so when you are breeding low levels, are you basically searching for a male/female that have ALL the points in one stat? For instance, lowest level on my server is 5, so should I be looking for level 5's with all 5 in the stat i want, or anything above 3 etc?
No, level does not matter. The idea is that you can start breeding mutations EARLY in the game before you've tamed the best max level dinos. Because sometimes it can take days before you find a good max level dino
@@ConCon ohhhh okay gotcha, that makes a lot of sense then
@@ConCon So if you have a low level Dino with mutations that you worked hard to breed for and tame a max level later on, you can simply breed the mutations onto the new max level? Just confirming that I understand what took place.
I have 217 megatheriums both female and male and i have bred them up and got 248 megatheriums (perfect pair) and if i want to get melee mutations ill have to keep breeding them for melee and once i am done with that, ill have to do the same with the health stat? (Starting from the lvl 248 megatheriums). And when i get the melee creature that is maxed out with mutations and the same with health, then ill have to just breed them to get the best megatherium? I would really apreciate the answer😁, just making sure.
Yes exactly 💯
is it possible to get 2 different mutation when hatches?
No you only get one mutations in a single hatch, but you can keep that mutation on the parent and breed a baby with another mutation
Is each individual mutation inherited separately? So if my male has 3 health mutations the babies will either inherit 0, 1, 2 or 3 mutations? If so surely the odds of transferring 10+ mutations become very small? Having to make 10x 50% rolls in a row?
No it's not, you either get;
1. Dad's 3 mutation health stat
2. Mom's 0 mutation health stat
3. Dad's 3 mutation health stat + new mutation
4. Mom's 0 mutation health stat + new mutation
Obviously you want the 3. option
@@ConCon thank you! So in option 4, there’s no way to transfer that mutation over to the male side stack? And those babies with a mutation on the mums side should just be trashed? Thanks for your help
What are those potions in your inventory
It's a mod that speeds up mutations so that I could test this faster
Is it 127 mutations in total or just for each stat? Like can you take a 127 Damage and a 127 Health and a 127 Weight and merge them to have a creature with the 127 in each or no? I'm sorry I play single player and it's hard for me to understand all of this stuff
Thank you so much for taking the time for this, one question, does imprinting matter or can it be ignored during the process of stacking the mutations?
Doesnt matter. Ony if you intend to use the imprinted dino for fighting
If you imprint, you make it hard to track the base stat values, imprinting doesn't affect baby stat levels
Can you breed for both health and meele at the same time or should I run 2 separate breed line
Is it higher than the first mutation? If not then it sounds like a wasted mutation or something.
What about negative mut?? Can u explain this?
Negative mutations lets you breed while ignoring the mutation counters entirely. Means you can breed with both mutated parents if you want
@@ConCon dam, how u get negative?
Can points still be wasted in speed? (Not just mutations but base stats?)
I can't recall how it works on ASA
nice well explained
Thanks and welcome
5:24 you mean keeping the LEFT side on zero. i had to rewatch 10 times to understand what u mean xD
How many times did u need to breed the low level mutated male with the high level clean one to get the high level one at the end? I am only getting below 200s
It can take a while depending on luck
@@ConCon another thing, how can I fully imprint the final baby instantly? I have waited long enough i think. Managed to get 11 weight mutations for my argy
If I’m looking for melee and heath I have to raise one at the time or can I use a father with both health and melee with clean females?
Which ever you prefer
but what shut i do if i get a femal with the right mutation stack ??
can i bread it with a male that hase 0 mutations or do i have to kill it an wait for a male
Yes you can breed it with a clean male to get a male baby with the mutation stack, but its very rare because you can only make 1 baby at a time
Hi I need help understanding, im breeding ankies and my male im currently using has 1 point in health 1 point in weight and 1 point in melee all on dads side (6) with (0) female mutations.
@@ConCon thanks I will start fresh
Does the magnifiying glass show the stats or would we have to do the overseer on official before we can see the stats
overseer but there are spyglass mods that show everything the tek binoculars do
I think the magnifying glass only shows HP and torpor values
So on official we are screwed until we do the overseer
@@benjiwalton4666 yeah basically but it was the same as evolved.
So how do you transfer a colour mutation from a female to a male with stat mutations?
You have to hope both move across
Great guide! Does this process work if you wanted to get a 3rd mutated stat lets say stamina for example
yup
Well you'll more likely breed the melee son until you get a melee and another stat mutation to continue, its just more of a lucky chance to happen
So question, why do we need to start with a low level tame? Is this significant? Or can I start by making a perfect pair and then breed for mutations
Its only significant if you just started the character today and don't have any tames going yet, its a way to get a headstart before you find the best tames. If you ALREADY have the perfect pair, start with them.
so, is it possible /feasible to get full 254 in multiple stats, or even all of them?
Yes though it will take a very long time
just for my smoll brain..basicly means: (my example) I have a male rex with a hp mutation of 2.
@@dreadcthulhu6842 jeez thats a nice explanation from you, thank you kind human being! =D
@@dreadcthulhu6842 also One question regarding mutation, on some dinos it tells me 3 mutations but the binocular only shows 2 for the stat, is the 1 the color?
If you keep the females clean you can go way beyond the 20/20 limit. Just don't got more than 127 mutations into a single stat (would show as 0/254/0)
@@ConCon I see I see, thank you
thank you so so much for all the breeding videos, now im working on a raptor project and i got a mutation in oxygen but i dont want it should i ignore it and go back to the original pair and wait for another male with a mutation in melee or hp? and can i use a male but thats not showing any "2"s/mutations in any stats but there is 1/20 in the ancestry as it got the highest stats from both in hp and melee?! thanks
Ignore the oxygen mutation its a waste. The males can have any mutation amount you have but try use females that have zero mutations
Nice video! I am not sure to understand, should I only do one kind of mutation at a time? Can I do for example health & Melee or the game only allow one kind of mutation per dino? Meaning I would have to bread two different male with each Melee and Health
Okay you answered in the last part of the video haha, do you recommand any patterns to get good health/melee mutation ?
What do you mean by patterns? Its actually faster to make an individual breeding line for the melee stat and another one for the health stat and once both are high enough, breed them together to get a dino with both high stats.
Im still new when it comes to breeding and right now im stacking for stam mutations but i got twin males with one stam and one melee mutations and im wondering if i replace my male with one stam mutation with the one i talked about or just keep breeding till i get one with 2 stam mutations
You can either split the males and make a stam mutation line or a melee one separately which you join later on. Either is possible.
So you'd have to keep trying until both stats carry down as well as getting a mutation on one of them
how to reset mutations is there away to do that? 😢 i got 20/20 in left side and I don’t have the old females
Breed with a female with 0 mutations.
So if I get a mutation on a female do I just breed that with the clean male until it transfers into a son with the mutation, then replace the clean male with the mutated son?
Yes you can do that
How do you use thise mutation potions?
Its just a mod, not in the real game
I think im doin it wrong lol... now i have a rex male wit 2 mut on health and 2 in Melee.. and im breeding wit 2 Female wit zero mutations.... but if i saw in ur video when u get the mut on male, u tamed a couple from wild to get thr higher stats on melee and health then breed them until get a other couple wit max stats on health and melee
.. then i dnt understand if u get other 4 wild females to breed wit the male with melee mutation, or just breed wit females u get from us last couple... bc u also say females wit no mutations.... so my question is am I doin it wrong then?
Make as many females with no mutations to breed with
Hi ConCon! So on ark se i would clean steak 20hp mutations then clean stack 20melee mutations then i would breed those 2 together until i hit 1.3bill mutations then breed back to perfect female to get negative then split them again to continue clean stacking. Will that not work anymore?
No idea to be honest
Best explanation I've seen for ASA but God damn getting 2 with same stat's to start with ain't fun lol
True
Hello are the begining moms all wild with 0 mutations or you breed 0 females from first mom and dad ? Thx
In ascended you can use any as long as they have 0 mutations
So, if I understand this correctly. Let's say you have a male with 254 mutations in damage, and a female with the 254 mutations in health, you can make a baby that has both the health and damage stat? You can simply not increase the mutations anymore with the baby that has both. RIght?
Yes, if you increase beyond 254, it breaks and removes all the bonus stats and acts like a 0 again
Thank you so much! That fixed everything but I had to start from fresh base parents. Luckily I wasn’t very far in.
I play on official pve and traded someone for a Boss rex and they have over 20 muts on both sides, how did they go over the cap ?
As long as you always breed the mutated dino with a non-mutated dino you can stack all the mutations onto one side over 20 and it makes the other side go to 0/20.
@@ConCon so if I get a female with muts and breed it with a clean male then they will all go to the left?
Have a question. So I’m currently breeding mutations on theris and have separate lines for health and melee. I’m currently at +4 for health but almost have another raised at +6 health. My question is that I have 3 mutations on my +6 health theri but it only shows the 1 mutation of +2 on the health instead of +6. Is it still stacking mutations this way as well so that the +6 is passed on? I have no Tek binoculars to confirm.
As long as the health value is higher on each baby
@@ConCon Ah ok gotcha thanks!
