  • Hello fellow inmates!
    For the past 2 years there has been constant confusion over what you should buy. Do I buy the light pods in single pod form or in kit form? What's the difference? Here's the answer and I will show you what you need and how to connect it up.

    Thanks for all these videos. I'm fairly sure you are the only one doing these on RUclips with useful information. I wish i had found these prior to buying my set up.
    I have a modern BMW with CANbus. I did originally buy the S4 kit & installed it, but i was not happy with all the wiring and lack of functionality (i also bought the high/low switch & the dual intensity relay). Very quickly i bought the CANsmart and installed it. I should have done it off the bat, and would have saved some money too.
    The wiring is so much neater, and better labelled. The functionality for the lights, and accessory options is extremely useful. Especially as you control it all with the OEM controls. The PC app is very useful to change functions and easy to use as well. I'd recommend it to anybody who was looking to install a light set up (or accessories) - even if you're not using Denali lights.

    Great Video. Immensely informative. I think Denali should offer a package which does not include the single intensity loom and offer it as a dual as those wishing that option end up paying for a single as well as a dual.
    Can I ask if you do fit this system to a newer BMW but without a cansmart will it trigger fault codes?

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  4 года назад +1

      Thank you! No fault codes because you’re not splicing into the bmw canbus anywhere. You’re just taking 12v supply from the battery and a supply from a switched live as a trigger.

    can I control the lights because the 2008 does not have the wonderwheel?
    Will they always turn on 50% together with normal light and then go to 100% when I activate high beam with the bikes high beam light switch?

    hi , can this setup be used on a bike that has provision for a cansmart controller, i mean if were to buy this kit instead of a cansmart controller and the pods will it still work , i am talking particularly about using your method on a 2019 BMW F850GS. I was told BMWs throw a fault code when you tap into a switched input, do you mind pointing to where you tapped into for the switched input and was the bike of yours capable of taking a cansmart controller

    • @ABIKETHING
      @ABIKETHING  4 года назад

      Siddarth Ashokkumar you’re my perfect customer! Who told you about this fault? Ive read this somewhere too but when speaking to denali and UK distribution, it seems the fault or complaint has never successfully filtered back to the manufacturer. In other words I think it’s ‘Hear Say’ or someone trying to effect the success of the brand. That said, I understand your concerns and the answer is yes you can fit this kit to your bike that has the provision for a cansmart.

    Is 50 percent still too bright? Most of your other vids drop down to 20 percent. Need something which supplements dipped beam without blinding oncoming traffic.

    Hi there. I have a 2019 GSA. Could I buy a S4 kit to replace the stock Aux lights and use the stock mounts and stock aux light switch? Would you suggest any options?

      Hi James. As mentioned in the video I’d advise and recommend you to buy a cansmart bundle. Click here. Will take you straight to R1250GSA cansmart bundles www.abikething.com/shop/?filter_bike=bmw-r1250-gs-adv-2018&filter_product-type=combination-packages

      Hi there. I should have mentioned that I did not want to get CANSMART, as I had one on my previous GSA, and did not want to go through taking the tank off and installing the controller. I appreciate all of the CANSMART functionality, but don’t want it. So having said all of that, can I simply add the S4 lights to replace the stock aux lights?

      James Suttie I see. Firstly you don’t need to take the tank off to install a cansmart. You ideally need to take the tank off if you want to do a really clean job of installing a soundbomb and any lights up front but it’s not necessary. If you just want to put some S4’s on then this is two wiring harnesses you need to route back to either the battery or a cansmart at the rear. You cannot use the plugs and harnesses that are currently lowering your oem spots to power your S4’s. Not unless you want to start chopping bmw oem plugs off and even then I can’t guarantee that’ll work.

      Hi there. I am rethinking my decision on not getting the Denali bundle. How much would the shipping cost be for the Denali D4 bundle to Vancouver, Canada? Also, I might want to get the B6 brake light.

      It’s been a long time since I have tapped into a GS’s headlight wires due to cansmart being used on majority GS’s. If I was doing one now I’d be taking the plug off and checking with meter. There is a video in my video list where I wire some T3’s directly into bmw and I show the wires and colours. Will find and post on here again.

      What’s the problem. Sorry it’s very hard to answer every question on here. Dozens come in every day across all videos. Emailing us so the office pick it up is the best way to get our attention.

    It would have been better if it was about 20% on dipped and 100% on high. 50% is still too bright at night to oncoming traffic.
