Steve, Love your videos. My only suggestion is to have the rear brake light use the daylight/night settings. Really not sure why this isn’t allowed as Clearwater has this feature.
Hi Steve. The cansmart system has been great allowing the fitting of all Manor of things and the list is growing. I also have the Denali Powerhub 2 fitted. I like this due to the screw terminals. But think a version with the bluetooth function of the Amplink would be cool.
Certainly appreciate your expertise. Best explanation for old riders like me who know nothing about electrical connections but ride new can bus based bikes.
Just want to add a small note to let "the inmates" aware of the ezcan, had a gen2, bought from nippy normans ,(not bought from your good sel)fitted on my bike for just over 2 years-worked flawlessly up until a week ago when it went completely dead when I was out on it,no power light, not able to communicate with laptop to reset/re install software, and very little help from the reseller, took to the "great God Google to research this problem and it seems like its quite a regular occurrence with the units and low and behold if you are past your two year warranty, tough luck, you'll have to buy a new one.......if I'd have known two years ago that there is the possibility of failure when out,and left at the side of the road with no sat nav/heated gear/lights and no backup other than to buy a new unit I wouldn't have wasted my hard earned money,I know I'm going to get replys about the age of my unit, but it's a current gen 2 model with up to date software, kept in a dry environment bike on battery tender all the time ,so should I have to fork out a few hundred pounds every few years ????.....anyway make your own minds up but beware !!!!!!
Hey Steve exciting news, have been holding off replacing my gen 1 cansmart that I have with my gen 2, will want the Bluetooth functionality as soon as its available 👍
Steve, great video. Very informative! I subscribed. Just a comment. I installed the Denali Sound-bomb (1 pc unit) on my KTM 1290 SA-T using their mounting kit. Denali’s kit utilizes the stock horn button on the KTM and bypasses the OEM horn. 🤷🏽♂️. BTW…KTM has NO room under the seat for a PDM or anything else. This install required a “canister delete mod” (Rottweiler). And now there is plenty of space for additional wiring, fuse blocks or a PDM. Thanks again👍🏼👨🏽🚒
Thanks for the video. I was wondering why the ezCAN was cheaper than the CANsmart. Knowing the latter comes with a complete wire set explains it nicely.
Jeez!!! this is amazing information, thanks. so the ezCan is right in my neck of woods and im busy agonizing over how to bring in the Denali Cansmart into the country. thanks for this bit of information, ill just go down the road and grab me the Hex ezCan
Some additional functionality for the Bluetooth link... it would be great to disable the sound bomb horn. For roadways... it’s great. But doing a friendly greeting - would be nice to have the option to tone it down a little. The other thing I would consider is a “parade mode”. Let the lights flash, blink, strobe, etc to show off a bit while traveling at low speed.
Good stuff Steve...it's been your reviews that made me go with a lot of the mods on my 2021 GSA Rallye...having more offroad country here in British Columbia crashing and cosmetic mods speak for themselves...functionality which you address...thinking of new rotors this winter...stock don't clean themselves when really dirty.
My 0.02 on app features Steve is profiles. Summer/Winter mode as an example - so in Winter mode an output configured to control heated gear using the heated grips switch. In Summer mode this output not likely to be used, so could be wired for something else like a 12v output for an air pump for inflating camp beds as an example, controlled by the ignition. I have mine set this way and have to plug in twice a year to change the output configuration. Might be useful especially here in blighty where summer can be cold to have the option to switch the output config over 'on the fly' with the app. Hope this makes sense!
Steve, you’re awesome. You take these these somewhat confusing topics and make them understandable for a simple guy like me. I have a 2020 Honda Africa Twin. I am really excited about getting a CANbus. Thank you!!!! I’m devoted to your channel and your sponsorship of these products. I’ll be on the look out for the Hex
Great content Steve, well explained..... so far i owned a Yamaha Super Tenere xt1200z and still Yamaha is left behind in this funky things, whilst other brands are added. Despite that; I still watched your content.....
I love you for this video, got the amp link myself because my Kawasaki bike doesn't have a canbus system, but I hope to upgrade on a BMW R1250 and get the Denali cansmart with Denali lights!
Steve, regarding the Bluetooth dongle. It would be great if the phone app would have two or three “favourites” options. That is to say when you set up your configuration for all your accessories you can save to favourites. You could then set up an alternative configuration and save to favourites (2). Would be very handy and quick to open the app and select a favourite configuration. Why? Well maybe different set ups for night and day, sunny or overcast, winter or summer. Cheers.

Hi Steve, I have a Denali Cansmart and a HexEZcan fitted to my 1250 gs, to operate my D4’s D2’s, sound bomb and aux brake light, brilliant right? Unfortunately, I cannot make any sense of how to operate the fitted kit. I’ve connected the laptop multiple times only to end in frustration. The bike is second hand from Pidcocks and the system was already fitted. It was Wayne at Pidcocks who suggested I message you to ask for some advice. Cheers 👍
Hi Steve. Can smart is great and gives amazing options. It would be nice to have an option that allows the auxiliary lights (D4s in my case)to strobe continuously say when you activate the bright light switch on my 1200 Gsa. Three flashes gives you 3 strobes which in my opinion isn’t enough. Thanks
Hi Steve, it would be really cool if you could display a kind of dashboard via the Bluetooth dongle in the smartphone app (similar to the Touratech Connect app).
What would be nice is some form of general BT controller that can be added to the handbar and send BT commands to the controller to implement custom functions of functions that the standard controllers can not trigger. (one does not want to necc have to use the phone for this. Further to that, a function to integrate Android's TASKER app to the BT controller so that Tasker can reacht tp feedback from the EXcan and trigger EXCAN functions
Great video! I hv an ezCan fitted on my gs1250, 7months now and works like a charm! With the bluetooth functionality, do u think we could have functions like opening my garage door or remote gate to my house using the wonder wheel on the bike? Ps Proud of Stephan for flying our flag high!
Very cool news. Very glad for you. Do you know if with the can smart you can make you main headlight low beam stay off. I have a Chinese after market led headlight with C-shapped DRL on my F700GS and it would be very cool to be able to program somehow the low beam to stay off during tbe day and just keep the DRL plus auxiliary lights on, just for the looks. Thanks!
Very informative video, Steve, thank you. A question I have is about daisy-chained ezCAN II or CANsmart 2's (or one of each): With the Bluetooth dongle and smartphone app, can you control all of the circuits from all of the daisy-chained controllers?
Can I connect my lights that comes with the BMW ('24 R 1250 GSA) lightning packages to this? I am thinking to connect Denali or Lone Rider D7, the SoundBomb and an additional brake light. What do I need for this setup? Thanks!
Hi Steve.... do you think this extension socket on the white circuit will enable us to wire in your BMW emblems to the same set up as you have on your Quad Black
Hey Steve, I would like to fit my bike with this setup. How can I get this to work with. Harley Davison Pan America. Lol I just heard you say in your video that they are working on a Pan America device, this is awesome.
Hey Steve, not so much a Bluetooth specific request... but additional ezCan functionality, how about being able to control the GSA's OEM auxiliary lights via the ezCAN?
Thanks for the video Steve! Any thoughts on products available for Indian motorcycle with the Can-Bus system to run extra T3 drl lights using turn signal also?
Steve, you mentioned in this video that Hex will have an ezcan available soon for Triumph Tiger, will this also include the new Tiger 1200 announced 07/12/2021? Thanks Jack
Awesome news!! And another good informative video. I bought some Denali gear from you a while back to fit on my Honda Africa Twin 2020 model. Was thinking about adding an Amplink ... but now will wait for the ezCAN. Are these new ones going to be Version 3 with Bluetooth already built in? PS I have SW motech geear including Pro magnetic tank bags ... seems we have similar taste with bike accessories! :)
Hi Steve, great videos and I see lots of questions asking when the Bluetooth connection is going to be available but not yet seen a reply! Is this still on the cards or has it been shelved? Its been 9 months since your announcement but still searching for it......

Great news! Any way to control the factory driving lights on the GSA other than ON or OFF? Maybe an option in the app? Would love a way to dim or adjust them for day and night riding!
Hi, you’re asking for something which is not connected to the ezcan to be controlled by it. That’s not how this works. The ezcan reads the canbus so when you put your lights on the ezcan knows and can then power up auxiliary lights. I’m not saying it’s not possible to control the factory lights but this would require cutting your factory bmw plugs off so we can utilise the wires entering the back of the factory lights and connect the ezcan up to them.
You describe price matching but not functional matching since splitters will be required for the EZCam bundle. That is unless your bundle will include those as well.
Good clarification if the devices. I’m not a fan of the frame flicking in the video as you say different things, plays havoc with my eyes. Smooth transition would be welcome. Thanks
I’ve just purchased a pair of Denali D3’s for my BMW R1300 GS. I’m waiting for the Dial Dim controller to be released - should I buy the Hex EZ Can as well?

Hi, I have a gen 1 hex on my 1200 GSA, should I upgrade to a gen 2 hex. I only run a coup,e of lights and have a socket specific for a compressor. I would like to have another socket for potentially heated gear plus some rear fog lights which would need to go on a separate switch.
both interfaces work universally with all light brands? I have Headlights sercomoto, when will you have available the hex ezcan for bmw 1250gs 2021? what is the cost of shipping to texas.?
There’s nothing wrong with the Denali wiring loom. It’s excellent quality. I just wanted to note that the hex one feels premium. You wouldn’t feel ashamed if it was on show. www.abikething.com/product/hex-ezcan-extension-kit/
I notice a PDM60 circuit programmed to have switched power actually “bleeds” 6 volts of power when the bike is off. This caused some problems with the switched power connection to my alarms. So, I used an available ezCAN accessory circuit programmed to switched. That solved that problem. However, using the D7 harness with the cansmart, I’m seeing some flickering on the right light which is programmed only for high beams. I’m wondering whether this is a voltage bleed issue? Lastly, for the amplink, do you still have to disconnect the battery to program as with the pdm60, or does the Bluetooth program while live?
Flickering, squirt wd40 down all the connections. This is becoming a common issue where the slightest of moisture is forming within the plugs causing the flickering. Wd40 is proving to be the saviour. Bluetooth on AmpLink is activated on initial start up of bike. If you access it then itll stay on if you don’t access itll switch off after a set time.
With Hex if two heated jackets are used, each has three temp settings (low, med, high) so can these two jackets be controlled via the wonder wheel? Thanks
Wouldn't the 2 jackets share those settings? Anyway it depends on how its configured. I myself configured a warm safe heated liner to map the settings of the heated grips, saving on the purchase of a $140 dual controller. For the gloves though, I plugged a Y-splitter to the battery, they are KEIS, with their own button/controller. I have to plug two leads instead of one, but it heats up good.
Hi Steve. The Bluetooth connection is a good idea, nearly everything has it these days. The expansion system could be a game changer. You mentioned the wonder wheel. How about a option to change what is control with it. I've always thought that the usb socket could of been on a lead external of the unit. But with the bluetooth this wouldn't be an issue going forward.
Finally. An easy and flexible solution to a previously complex issue. Proof will be in the installing!
Steve,
Love your videos.

Which of these are compatible with Ninja 1000SX? Couldn't find any info on net.

When is the Bluetooth dongle coming?
I’ve just purchased a pair of Denali D3’s for my BMW R1300 GS. I’m waiting for the Dial Dim controller to be released - should I buy the Hex EZ Can as well?
My best advice is to wait for the ezcan which is about to be announced in the next couple of weeks.

So it's been 9 months since you announced the Tiger ezCan...any update? Was hoping to have it already installed on the new Tiger 1200 😭
Steve, is there a difference between the new and old packaging Hex Ez Can, the module remains the same Gen 2?
Will they work with Honda NX500 2014 (CB500XA) ?

Is it possible to use the EzCan on a older bike … gs 1150 2001 ??
is the blue tooth dongle out I cant see it on your website Ta
Does the Amplink come with strobing and can bus feature?
No. Only the hex ezcan and Denali cansmart can do that.
Denali Cansmart has 5 year warranty doesn't it? Versus 2 years on the easycan?
😮 didn’t even notice that - no real difference in price yet 3 years less warranty Denali is the way forward then
I notice a PDM60 circuit programmed to have switched power actually “bleeds” 6 volts of power when the bike is off.
Hi is any suggestion for ducati mts v4? Hex ez can or any kind of canbus…
Hi,
Was told I can't download the Hex or CanSmart software without a Mac or PC computer. I only have a Chromebook and Android phone. Is this true?
So if the Honda Africa twin is going to be able to get a ezcan any plans for the 2018+ Honda Goldwing do you know?
I emailed ezcan in March (2022) and they do not do an hexezcan for the 2018 africa twin
