The 450$ one is really nice but it's more like an illustration than an actual logo 🤷🏻♀️
Agreed. Logo need be simple, clear, and nice looking.
True
Agree - I always think that logos should work in monochrome just as well as they do in their intended full colour. I can't imagine this working as a simple black logo on a white background. Also too much small detail with the moon and stars - this will be lost in a small app icon or printed really small on a business card, for example.
Oof, late answer, but the goal was to make it a logo/website icon. The extra simplified version can be done out of it or simple text can be used (text has a noticable details in it too). So I think it is fine. But I def like 135 dollar guy more, not because their logo is more creative or not (depends on tastes), but he did a presentation, the workflow process and branding ideas. It feels modern, it feels easy to continue working with. It feels professional.
Well those logos are the best, it catches more attention and gives to the customer a better impression
The 135$ designer resonates with my energy at work so much. I try to get involved with the project, understand the client, give them differents options and think out of the box when I'm designing or ilustrating. As a perfectionist this is top notch, very pleasing and visual appealing, he NEED to raise up his prices, cause he is killing it.

The $135 designer nailed it. The logo and presentation is just on point 🔥
Every single designer should be charging 5,000 minimum. They create logos for businesses and brands that eventually turn over hundreds of thousands and more!
nope. 90% of businesses crash and burn in 5 years.
@@cchege by then they would have generated hundreds of thousands, I’m not talking about the people that start a business just for the sake of starting one. Those statistics sound like the people that have no direction in business. Provide your source.
It's not necessary people who charge high for work their output would be great.
135 guy is gave you more than 450 guy.
I like that in the first one with the mountains the M, the S is also the river. the meditating seated person MS is also really cool! Goes to show that you don't ALWAYS need to pay top dollar for good work, it depends on the person that's doing the work and their creativity and interpretation of the brief!
In this way the $135 guy absolutely nailed it in my opinion!
you could literally go to any logomaker website and generate this yourself. and they give you all the extra things with the logo just like the people did but for way cheaper
I love the one with letter ms designed like a Monck from the first designer.
3rd guy wins in every category.
Should put the $135.00 logo design on the T-Shirts any way.
"Don't let your dreams be just dreams" ~ Mindscape (probably)
No sense letting that work go to waste.
Liked the $295 one a lot more than the one you chose which to my mind is a lot more cliche. I think they all did very well.
there is also an Infinity symbol on the third logo, on the cross legs
I really REALLY liked the first guy's personesque design, and was a bit disappointed when you took the second one to refine, but once the 135 dollar designer came along, it was exactly what I'd have hoped the first guy's personesque design would turn out to be. That guy killed it, such a nice design!
this just indicates that I would need to go through 5 + people and approximately 1000+ dollars to get an icon/logo that I can actually use
tbh the last one was too complex and not balanced at all as a logo. on the contrary the $135 dude job was litterally amazing. blown up from his job! well done! you should share their names to give some love around ;)
The 135 guy has nailed it, this logo is so amazing and the presentation even more amazing!!!

Fivver and the similar platforms are just a race to the bottom. Sure it can be a fun place to practice but please be aware that if you contribute to these bottom rate platforms you hurt us all as professionals. Clients will never value our work/time if we charge such low prices. Its also good to support your local community of designers.
Yep. Problem is that people in general have such shitty-shitty taste. I used to work for an ad agency where they charged tens or even hundreds of thousands for a full branding project (so much more than a logo). Honestly, I just get a bad taste in my mouth when someone asks me to brand and design for them and then they tell me "and I want a puppy next to the logo...and make it purple".
This just makes me sad that the £135 is getting paid nothing for their work:(
I see one problem with all of them, at least what I see here in the video.
Nobody asked questions to get more information out of you, the client.
Yep! No questions about who the users are either... I as a UX designer feel sorry for how people still can't understand that we shouldnt be doing design for ourselves, but to others. No wonder why even though we appreciate innovation and personalized products, we still get the same stuff with only different prices.
I enjoyed the video and the commentary, Just wish there was text on the screen showing the creator's name along with price all throughout. The names were not mentioned nearly enough.
$70 one was a straight scam lmao. I do that shit in a few minutes to pass the time when my Typography professor goes on a longwinded tangent about the letter press 😅
IKR! 0 creativity right there, that logo looks something out of freepik lol
The $135 one looks very professional
For me:
1) The 1st guy - MarioLand @ $40 for value for money
2) The 3rd guy - A6 Design @ $135 for aptness
3) The 5th guy - Dano Viga @ $450 for Artistic depth
4) The 2nd girl - K4 Design @ $70 for simplicity
5) The 4th guy - Logo Business @ $295 for expression

Those "leaves" are supposed to be a lotus flower.
The logo with the person meditating is just amazing. The last one I don't like... It has too many elements fir a logo. This will bring you too many troubles in reductions, specially in an app logo.

A6 was the best. A whole portfolio for that price. Amazing.
a6design aka 135$ guy --> my fav. The logo stayed in my head and was pleasing to look at.
First logo is just Visual Studio logo just soulless
$450 was stunning but doesn’t suit the app premise.. it would definitely work as a promotional illustration or ad campaign for the app, the logo could be a simplified version of the presented “logo”
Just here to pay my respects to $135 guy. Way beyond the other people in his vision and sense of style

The $450 dude was really good, but the $135 dude was INCREDIBLE! He went above and beyond with his designs and even showed you the process he used to make it. That dude should be charging at least $400 for what he’s offering
To be honest $400 is too little to pay for a professional logo design. This is why i hate apps like fiver. It drives down the prices that people expect to pay for design. A guy charging $150 is taking food from the tables of designers who have worked for years to hone their skill. More often than not you get the quality that you pay for.
@@dmd_design How can it be too little when plenty of people are offering great work for less than that? Supply and demand. Just because you want to be paid more for your work, doesn't mean it's worth it.
the kind of work he did actually costs thousands, depending on the client. maybe even tens of thousands. hes a fully fledged graphic designer!
Yes, maybe he's a bit newer guy on there. It makes sense to charge less at start so more people will "try" you and when you are famous or people know you do great work, you raise the price higher.
@@dmd_design you dont always get what you want
This is why you shouldn't sell yourself short. The guy that charged $135 could have charged much more with that level of talent.
Totally agree!
In other platform I sell myself but fiverr is very unpredictable for me. I failed...
I'd charge 10k+ for such work!
He can't because when you are looking for logo designer on Fiverr you have no idea who has skills and not. So if he wants customers he needs to keep price low, and when he reaches higher levels (Fiverr ratings) he can increase the price.
@Xavier He had to do it because of the competition probably
135$ guy nailed it.
🙌🏻
That was my favourite too, and the way he delivers the product was amazing imo
yeah, not even close!
yeh loved that one!
It's all in the presentation too. Really well executed.
“It’s a meditation app with calming music”.... “not sure why he put a music note in the design”
😂😂
The focus is on guided meditation. No point focusing on the music, sounds or alarm that the app *also* provides, the logo should be based on what the app's *primary purpose* is :)
music note can mislead the audience that it is some sort of music related app, the risk of which the owner wants to avoid
Too on the nose as a design. That was actually the worst of all the designs.
this was funny 😂
Fellow graphic designer here, and yeah, that $135 was INSANE. To get that much content: a style guide, custom typography, reverse logo, AND merch ideas? This man is not charging enough for his services, he should really value himself more!
Most likely he's a shy guy, and he enjoys giving attention to detail on everything he does.

Hopefully he reads some of these comments and charges more for his work.
@@huntermcneil2201 I really hope so, he's devaluing himself and he may not even realize it!
I hope he figures this out... Your price tells people "this is how *valuable* this is" and you actually miss opportunities by selling yourself short! I hate valuing my own work though so I get it...

Hello

I was hoping someone wrote this
Something you need to consider, is that many of those who work for companies such as Fiverr are from other countries. To you $135 might be too little, but to them it might mean more commissions because of "cheap" price point, instead of waiting for people to debate whether they want to spend $500, when there are cheaper options.
Just a thought
@@diegoalva5878 of course, but at the same time, spending more time on less projects increases the likely hood of his average overall quality is higher
All of them are under priced, that's the problem with platfroms like this -- they're devaluing all of an industry. Take the 450 dollars over a few days and compare that to a salary. Can you live on that? If you're a business, your work 20 days a month is not guaranteed, lucky if you get a client, lucky if you work 10 days a month. The only people who benefit from this... not the client, not the designer, but the platform. Now think of the dude who created a good presentation, had a great concept and charged 135 minus the platform's percentage.
@@rotteneffekt4416 exactly.
It's funny that you didn't like any details until they costed 450$
this exactly
Smh
wow great point. although the 135$ one totally demolished al of them, he unconciously amazed by 450$ one
Exactly. That much amount of detail won't fit on an App Icon.
*Marketing*
$135 is insane value for what was presented. It also works across everything from web, app, merchandise, stationary and livery. It’s a designer who has yet to realise they value of their work, which I think is the hardest lesson to learn. Do this person a favour, and tell them what the real value of their work her should be.
They know.
They want people to feel bad for them so they buy the services.
It's a great idea 💡
So lots of people on Fiverr will undercharge for two reasons 1. They live in a country with low cost of living, so they don't charge a lot compared to US designers, while making more than everyone in the same field in their country. 2. They are building a reputation and getting more reviews/ranking so they can increase prices later and still get reviews.
@@Ericbomb The "cheap first and well paid later" idea will not work. It never did. It's a classic illusion in the creative business. Because in the age of digital revolution there will be always a cheaper (and better) fish. I just can recommend by experience to spend your engergy on convincing clients to get paid by value and not by time and focus on a reliable service and communication. All this needs a healthy life. If you are underpaid all the time you can compensate when your young but you get burned out by this over time for sure.
@@3dvfxprofessor Sure it does. I started on Fiverr (which I don't recommend to any creatives unless you want to stand in the shadow of art thieves... last time I was on Fiverr it was to report two art thieves claiming my art is theirs) and now I work off my own portfolio, many key pieces of which were originally done on Fiverr for budget clients, for 5x-20x the rate I used to charge, depending on the product. :) Better to work for cheap than for nothing to get your portfolio set up. No one's going to pay a brand new artist $1000 off the hop. I had to demonstrate skill in my arena, by working with lower budget clients, to win jobs that paid me like that. I do hold there's a tier where it's not worth it to spend your time, unless you can whip it out in a couple of hours... but it's not unreasonable for a beginning artist to start with a minimum wage estimated rate. At least they're requesting payment rather than feeling flattered that someone 'let them enter their contest' or 'let them draw fanart for them'... like some new artists I see. Though I acknowledge burnout is a very real risk and I wish every day that every job I took was in that $500+ bracket, I still regularly take commissions for lower rates. Not unreasonably low rates, but not everyone has industry level money to spend on art, so while I feel it's more important to focus on negotiating big jobs, the littler ones make up a key part of my income... and even those little ones have clients who say "okay, I'll do that, but I have to save up for a month before I can afford to pay you." They deserve art too, just not quite the same level of intense service as the $500 or $800 or $1000 clients get.
you can tell the guy at $135 went to design school, literally exactly how all my projects look. He did too much I think $135 just for a mark would've been ok if it took em like an hour or so to make. But he went a designed an entire identity for you, which is worth thousands. $40 was way underpriced and $450 was WAY overpriced, looked like they're more of an illustrator rather than a logo designer.
I think he/she might have some architectural background. The measurement line and some raster elements are straight of a ground floor plan :D . The design process seems very technical/rational, the presentation with all the insights, is a step further from average design school. Top notch work!

450$ had so many basic problems, from the concept to the colors, typography, size (of element details) and even the symbol communication, it would have been good that he at least rotated it 90º CCW (even 45º) so it doesnt direct the viewer to the bottom if he wants that "mindscape" idea. Looking forward and up would give a way better idea of mindscaping
The 135$ was a hidden gem in deed
but also as a customer, will peterson automatically liked the 450$ because he paid more for it
@@deyanali2617 that's pretty dumb especially because the goal of this video should have been to stay objective.
Google meditation logo on pinterest and you will realise that $135 logo should be worth $5, hahahahaha
@@wooyyeah Thing is the presentation is well-executed, let alone their whole branding pdf. It's customized work and related their work with meaning Will asked for.
what was wrong with it? at least he created an original design plus provided multiple other options for will to choose from. The 135 dollar guy was more presentation than actual designing
$135 guy is A6design in case anyone wanted to know
Bless you!
I need this guy to design my new logo.
